I have been going to the zips restaurant in Cheney my entire life of 47 years. What has happened to this restaurant? It used to be a really good place to go and eat today when I receive my order there was print stuff all over the bottom of my burger bone I could hear the cooks in the back complaining about cooking people's food orders just the general atmosphere of the employees there they seem like they were pissed to even have to prepare food. Worst service yet and not improving. Took our grand children to grab a (1) sandwich and a (1) hash brown patty. After 45 minutes of waiting inside on a to-go order (absolutely not an exaggeration) we asked for a refund and left. While waiting, the cook was yelling, loud enough for all in the restaurant to hear, "My kitchen wasn't prepped correctly," "Were short staffed," "I dont care if people are angry," and many other excuses and blame he could muster up. This was all done in a very loud angry voice resulting in significant amount of discomfort in the waiting area. **People were getting refunds and leaving right and left.** Our family has lived in Cheney for many many years and have been patrons of Zips for as many. It WAS a great place to go for fast food. For the last 6 months or so, however, service has gone steadily down hill. This was not the only time we have had to wait an exorbitant amount of time for a very simple order, but it is the most egregious! My son in law got stuck waiting in the drive thru...it took 30 minutes to get two milkshakes. Good grief!! Another issue is that they don't seen to keep inventory consistent. A breakfast place should not be running out of hash browns and gravy...right?! I do want to give kudos to the gals on the front line... they were doing the best they could in dealing with angry customers and an abusive cook. Bottom line...no reason to go back. read more

Workers in the front working the counter spend more time talking to their friends than they do working. Took my order, was eating in, so I sat down and waited and waited. After 20 minutes and no other customers holding up my order I got up and asked about my order. Order was sitting on the counter waiting for someone to deliver it to me. As I ate, I watched and condiments that were empty were taken away to fill but the young man was too busy talking to friends. Never did the condiments become available. This ZIPs restaurant use to be excellent but not anymore. Pity full! read more

Terrible service here. I ordered a cheese burger & a chili dog with onion rings and a couple of drinks. 6 customers came in after me while I was waiting for my order. Employees would call out customers name & walked pass me to deliver their food. Everyone that came in after me got their order. A few were done eating and had already left. I asked about my order, employee grabbed a couple of bags that was sitting on the counter & handed it to me. My food was cold. The most consistent Zips I've been to. Their food is always great when I want a nice greasy burger and fries. Their staff is OK and service is average. I will say I've noticed on a few occasions that an employee is high. But nonetheless, the food keeps me coming back for more. read more

I usually order drive through, but today the line was long and the kids were hungry. So I'll skip to the part where we ate our very good food that was worth the time and money, and jump to the part where my 6 yr old accidentally dropped her chocolate shake in the restaurant, on the way out the door. It was a complete disaster! Chocolate all over the booth walls and floor. More on the floor than any where els! When I asked the 2 young men behind the counter for help, one of them picked up a large pile of napkins and slid them across the counter at me with a "have fun" look on his face and turned his back and walked away. WOW! Of course completely embarrassed about the situation I went to task cleaning it up the best I could. When I finished I took the napkins left over and slid them across the counter to him and said.. "I did the best I could, but I can't promise that one of your customers won't slip and fall on the mess that I couldn't clean with napkins ". I tell you what!!! I spend around $100 per week at Zips because my children love the shakes. But I won't give 1cent more after the way I was treated today! Teach your employees REAL customer service! Zip's Drive-In in Cheney, Washington holds a very special place in my heart. If you've never visited Zip's as an Eag at 3AM then you did college wrong. It was the prime spot for where everyone would go after drinking, since it was the only place in town that's open 24 hours. Oh, the memories. My bestie and I HAD to visit Zip's for good times sake after touring our old school. We had lunch here, which may be the first time I've had Zip's sober. And I was relieved to learn that it still tasted the same. We both ordered two cheeseburgers, fries, mozz sticks and an Oreo Hurricane with lots of fry and ranch sauces. It was our usual order then, so we stuck with what we knew best. None of these fancy burgers or anything like that. The cheeseburger with sides and a dessert was all we needed, so as long as we had our housemade sauces. The cheeseburger is nothing special. It's a basic cheeseburger, but has a slight burnt taste on the edges from the griddle, which is how a Zip's cheeseburger should taste. It was good. The fries were the same. But I will say that the mozz sticks were generic, as they made their own mozzarella sticks back in the day, so we were sad to learn that this was no longer the case. However, they still have the Hurricanes, which are basically like a DQ Blizzard. Still tasted the exact same AKA it was solid. The fry and ranch sauces just reminded us that anything could taste good from Zip's as long as the sauces remained the same. And it sure has. Zip's is a savior to all Eags. For classic cheeseburgers and fries after the bars close or when the house parties end, this is where to congregate. It just wouldn't be the same college experience without a place like Zip's. read more

It's fast food burgers and fries. Try it. It's basically the only thing in Cheney that is 24 hours so even if you don't want to try it, you eventually will. These guys have malt, which basically nobody else does (except DQ) and that's a bonus. I don't think they have a veggie burger alternative but you can get a grilled cheese. Also tip. They appreciate it. They don't have tip jars out but these kids are hustling and serving drunk college kids and deserve a few extra bucks. read more

PHENOMENAL ranch. I could buss ngl. The ranch was so damn good I saw the ranch gods gave them a high five and came back into my body. The food is bomb af too same with the other sauces like the fry sauce, creative asl and yummy asl too. the workers there were amazing aswell and very cooperative. Zip's is fast food gold. Whenever I'm in town, I have to have a cheeseburger and fries (with tartar sauce on the side) from Zip's. They also have some really good milkshakes. It's open 24 hours a day, which is a lifesaver -- (I went to a wedding on Saturday and was in desperate need of a late night burger afterwards), Plus, the drive thru line was surprisingly quick even though when we arrived there were at least four or five cars in front of us. This isn't a place you want to go for a nice, sit down meal, but if you're looking for a good burger, you should check it out. read more

Recently moved to the east side and was told by many that I had to try Zip's Drive-In. I ordered the 2 piece chicken and fries meal. They have these sauces that definitely hold the meal up for flavor. The food at Zips is okay. If there was more of a rich flavor, people would be all over this place, (not saying they're not already doing that) but adding more of a seasoning to these meals would be great. I have yet to try more of their menu but definitely will be coming back for more. Who knows, maybe they'll take this review into consideration! Pricing of menu is cheap. Credit card information was stolen. I handed the girl my Debit card at the drive up window and she closed it. 5 minutes later she came back and handed me my card and food a few hours later I had new charges on my card I reported it right away and had my card shut down. Hands down best zips ever. No other place has the Eagle burger that I know of and it is so delicious. Although it is way too big for me to eat it all sometimes I do challenge myself. Other times I'll order a belly buster burger it's like a mini version of the eagle burger. Curly fries over the fries and tots in my opinion flavor wise and all. Chicken tenders with Jojos here are so yummy. Breakfast Chorizo burrito isn't too bad either.. The shakes are delicious!! Banana is one of my favorites. read more

Way overpriced. "Large" drink smaller than most places' medium drink, but as costly if not more so. Service is pleasant enough, and the food meets standards of most other Zip's, but no real "extra mile factor. I like this place. The reviews that complain about the prices aren't completely wrong, though. You really need to know what to order here. The best one to know is the bag of burgers (5) with a tub of fries for $8. Take'm home and slap the cheese slices you have in your fridge on them. And always, ALWAYS ask for fried onions on your burgers. They are complimentary. Their signature item is the "Eagle Burger," in honor of EWU out here. It's the only Zip's where you can find it, obviously, and it's quite good size for $3.99. Very tasty, indeed. This place gets my fourth star because of being open 24/7. I gave only 3 stars because unfortunately I have to say, I have had many more negative experiences at Zips, then positive. If I were to rate stars on the food alone, I would give 5 stars, including the very best tartar sauce comes from Cheney, I have to say, in my opinion . The customer service is hit and miss. Yes, I understand they get busy or whatever but really. Sometimes as much effort as they put into being rude they could try to be a little nicer. I have had good customer service at times. Zip's is your traditional burger n greasy food fix hot spot. They have a few signature burgers that are great! My favorite is the poppa joe, or the mushroom burger. The french dip is also great. They have amazing french fries, and a great variety of dipping sauces... The jalapeno ketchup is my favorite. My wife loves the shrimp basket. What makes this location unique is they serve breakfast!!!! And boy do they! I have eaten half their breakfast menu, it's all delicious! I'm torn between the buscuits n gravy or the eggs bene. as my favorite. They do something to their hashbrowns... I don't know what it is, and they won't tell me... But they're to die for!!! Zip's is a local favorite and I can see why. Good food, great prices and decent portions served mostly by college students. Need something special for your order - just ask, they are super accommodating. They are open whenever you want to go and they have a varied menu so you will have lots of choices. We ordered two meals and when our name was called, they gave it to another person (it was just my husband and I and this one other customer who had walked in 3 minutes prior). The other guy grabbed our bag and pulled everything out, touching the fries then took it back to the front when he realized it wasn't his. They immediately brought us the same bag and we asked that they make the fries again because we watched the other customer blow his nose then touch our food. We're pretty sure they did not remake the food and just brought out the same fries. They did not give us the burger we ordered and when my husband asked for it, they questioned him about actually ordering it. We both finished our fries and decided it was not worth the wait (15-20 minutes later). We got up and told them that it's fine and we're just going to go. Zips is a diner/fast food joint with a drive up window, I liked it . And they have plenty to offer on the menu. After checking out the menu I went with a cheeseburger, side of fried mushrooms and a root beer, I know livin large with the soda and all! I have to say the burger was great, everything was fresh and great tasting, but the fried mushrooms, man they were freaking great!
