It gets three stars for visiting in the winter time. We were freezing and I was not eating ice cream. We came here after my sons basketball game. Pretty sure they didn't have the heat on. This is definitely the better Dairy Queen in Valparaiso, but it can be so much better if it was warmer. read more

We love this place! They're so accommodating! The food is great! The only complaint I have is that I ordered an ice cream cake from them for Mother's Day. It was the largest size of the Blizzard cakes, so it was quite expensive. I cut into a piece to serve it, and there was a long dark hair in it. I wasn't happy about that. I won't ding the score I gave them though because we'd gotten other cakes from them that were great. Other than that, we usually have good service when there. It's usually clean. The service isn't always speedy, but it's not snaily either. read more

My husband brought home blizzards from your franchise for our family a little while ago. He specifically stated that my daughter has a nut allergy. Tonight, instead of making 2 cough dough blizzards, you gave us 1 cookie dough and 1 Reese's cup. Side by side you could not tell the difference and it was by the grace of God that that blizzard was not placed in front of her. I'm beyond hysterical of the thought of almost losing my daughter tonight. We take full responsibility for bringing this home to our daughter. We accepted the risk of cross-contamination by ordering at a facility that serves nuts and can empathize with human error. My husband went back 10 minutes later and your lobby was closed. He drove up to the window and your manager was quite indifferent of our near death circumstance!!! I only am messaging you for awareness purposes. It was a definite reminder to our family that the enjoyment of a cold treat on a snowy day is not worth the loss of our little 4th grader and are beyond thankful to have only suffered from the fear of what could have happened. Please use this occurrence to help train and raise your staff's conscientiousness when preparing your treats. Thank you for reminding us of our own reality and that future consideration MUST be taken for other patrons who advise you of their allergy that you will not serve them their own fatal ice cream concoction. read more

New fudge "core" is more of a tiny fudge blob. Didn't the commercials make it seem like the new Oreo blizzard would have a core of fudge that extended the entire length of the cup? It reminded me of the fudge or caramel core that the lovely Ben and Jerry's has in their ice cream snacks. They are delicious and amazing so I was excited that Dairy Queen was jumping on that band wagon! Well don't bother! Me and 2 of my friends have had this blizzard and each of us had a goey glop of fudge on top but then it was done. Not worth the money or the calories. It sucked! read more

Stopped by this Dairy Queen while we were out and about because we were craving a coffee frappe. We saw on the sign it mentioned frappe happy hour prices, when we asked the kid at the window about it he was" yeah I'm not sure how that works or what it's on" then we tried our frappes and they were both chocolate not coffee. Glad we have a Dairy Queen by our house ,that knows what they are doing and that we won't have to come back to this one. read more

Awful, I came to the shop today at around 10:30 at night to get an orange julius and a sundae. The sundae came out quick but the orange julius took a while, after a few minutes I looked through my car window and saw the employees joking and messing around. I didn't see my julius getting made. It finally came out after about 5 minutes and when I held it, it felt very liquid-ey. So I took off the lid and it was just liquid, no texture at all. After tasting it, it tasted no different then orange juice. I will never be going there soon, thanks a lot. read more

The absolute worst service of an DQ we have ever been to. The drive thru workers always have poor attitudes, never smile, and never say anything after saying thank you. They give you extremely small portions for the price they charge you. My wife ordered one of the cookie and ice cream treats. There was hardly any ice cream. The cookie was double if not triple the size of the ice cream and tha is being generous. Will never go there again. The customer service and quality of food is always better at the DQ on LaPorte by the college. read more
