Rolled his eyes at us twice because he didn't get our order correct and when we tried to stop them from making it , we were talked down to. Used to love coming to this DQ. But not now. I went through the drive thru and ordered a medium blizzard because we got coupons in the mail and there was two separate ones there was buy a blizzard and get a second blizzard for so much money then another coupon was get any blizzard for $3.99. So I told ordered through the drive-through that I had this coupon and she says oh we can't accept that here even though on the sheet, it said it was good for Vandalia so she told me to drive through and she look at the coupon she looked at the coupon and she says no you have to buy two and I said no, I said there was two separate coupons. I said there was this one and another one if you got two blizzards, needless to say I was wrong she told me and she would not accept the coupon and I had to pay full price. So I was in town (right next door for work) and needed something to eat before work. I haven't been to a Dairy Queen in years. I go in and decided I would get a chicken salad as I didn't want a hamburger this late in case it was greasy. Not much of a choice for dressing, but went with Italian, and decided on the crispy chicken version. First If I based my review on friendliness of the staff this place would have received 5 stars, so to whomever from the Vandalia Dairy Queen that might be reading this; great almost amazing job of customer service and being friendly. But the review is also about the food and the location. 4 stars to the cleanliness of the place it was very clean, not eat off the floor clean but clean. Someone was going around cleaning tables when I arrived. Now the salad. First what can I really expect from a chicken salad at an Ice Cream place. Well my thought is, you have it on the menu it should be as good as it can be. My chicken was over heated so it was a little tough, the salad itself was not bad or horrible, but it wasn't great either. Again I did order a salad. So this is the main reason for the 3 stars. It was a basic salad that had over cooked chicken placed on top. If in the area I am sure I would stop in again, but probably for an ice cream. read more

This location is probably my favorite. The staff is very friendly there and the restaurant is clean and neat. It's never too busy but it does quite a good business. The food is good and I love their Sundaes (strawberry's my fave! ) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's not sure about this restaurant or location. Above average food and service at this family-owned Dairy Queen. Special mention for the french fries that are usually made to order, cooked to a golden brown, crispy and hot. And the portions are generally more generous than other stores--more fries, more hot fudge for your sundae, etc. read more

It was my birthday, and I was anxious to try Dairy Queens food at the restaurant at 6760 N Dixie. What a giant mistake. The hairy faced man behind the counter over charged us for 4 items (more than $20). Then, he became angry when my daughter told him this was not what she ordered, because she ordered NO TOMATOES OR ONIONS. After putting lettuce on the sandwich, the man handed back the sandwich and kicked us out. Now, in our vehicle, we check our food, and my fish is almost black from bad oil or way over cooked. My daughter's sandwich is the same flat sandwich with the onions covered up with lettuce. To say the least, our nearly $5 sandwiches were not able to be eaten, and I was out over $20 :-( read more

This DQ is so nice! I think it's been under new ownership for a few years and they have really improved it. Everything is clean, and the people are nice and they have never messed up my order. They are generous with the blizzard filling and the ice cream always tastes fresh! If you sit outside it's near the airport so you might see some planes landing and taking off. read more

This used to be my favorite Dairy Queen however went last week to grab dinner and not only had the prices increased the food was not good at all. We got foot long coneys and the charge extra for the chili sauce and cheese. The worst part was after paying over $5.00 for a foot long it was actually 2 regular hot dogs in a foot long bun!!
