The burger was ok. Very overpriced but it was inside a casino. I'm sure the family would be disappointed in what was served.

I recently placed a DoorDash order at Doubleday's Home Plate…read more Doubleday's Home Plate offers a variety of food options. I elected to get the Ooey Gooey Smashburger and an order of fries. The smashburger consists of two smash hamburger patties topped with American cheese with cheese sauce between the patties. I added pickles on my sandwich. The burger was cooked well, in the typical smashburger style, and was very cheesy and delicious. The fries were good. The order came in a plastic container. Not quite eco-friendly but it kept the food warm and fresh. I highly recommend this establishment. My order was filled quickly and my DoorDasher delivered the order quickly. I like having different dining options and this is one place I do intend on visiting again.

Now, they are basically based at The Famous restaurant which too has gone down hill in quality of food. I had made an order last night after long day of work (work a hour away), and the order was wrong and high priced for the portions. The fish was not a good portion like it was previous and did not even give me tartar sauce with fish. I was not aware of change of location to Famous Restaurant until I made the order and had to drive out of my way after long day at work. Management had refunded me money which was appreciated, but I would say that maybe they should just add this menu to The Famous Menu or to the Doubleday locations and close the doors and concept of this restaurant.

An unexpected gem in the gem city! I always check Yelp when traveling and look for a mom & pop spot…read morefor dining rather than a chain. Little did we know upon entering, we hit the jackpot when choosing Slyder's beyond the high ratings they've received. For a Thursday night this little place was crazy busy!! It's comfortable inside with a back room for overflow. We soon found out why it was so a buzz. Great food, great service and Joe, who's probably the most personable and sincere owner I've ever come across, who shared some great stories. The icing on the cake was finding out he briefly lived near us in central NC. It really is a small world! I had a delicious reuben sandwich with perfectly grilled bread. My spouse had been craving a BLT and this one hit the mark. A generous order of fries rounded it all out. Good food aside, Joe was the highlight. He was happy to share some info about sites to see in Dayton, for future reference, a city he clearly loves. When we were leaving we looked for him to thank him and say goodbye, but didn't see him. To our surprise he suddenly appeared out the front door to chat with us a bit further. This was a first. To feel so welcomed by an owner, esp given how busy they were. It really made an impression on us. The next time we're in town stopping here is an absolute must! Many thanks, Joe, for your hospitality!

1st time visitor, long time wannabe patron. Glad we came here for Fat Tuesday and loved their Mardi…read moreGras menu! Started off with the King Cake Old Fashioned and a Downtown Hurricane. Good choices to kick things off with and then we ordered all the apps! Good attempt w the Boudin Balls, but it needed alot more sausage, tasted like rice balls. The Muffaletta Deviled Eggs were very salty. Even after taking the olive topping off, the saltiness was soaked into the egg. Now the Grilled Shrimp Maque Choux was off the chain! I could've eaten 20 plates. Off to the entrees, we went with the Jambalaya and the Gumbo. The only mistake was not getting a bowl of Gumbo! It was very good. Cajuns would be proud! I hope the Gumbo is on their regular menu! Cannot wait to come back and try other stuff. Sazerac had a black licorice and ouzo quality to it and I'm not a fan of either of those but ppl who are will love it.

We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender Heather. We enjoyed some cold wine and deviled eggs. The eggs had a great fresh taste where the dill really stood out but wasn't overpowering. I had the salmon BLT which was delicious. My wife had the chicken avo sandwich and said it was the best chicken sandwich she had ever had. We ordered some chicken fingers for our son and his fiancé to go. They said those were delicious as well. Everyone that worked there was so nice and it was pretty neat to be the final customers at the location. Go give them a try in Centerville!

It was all great. I probably wouldn't stop again for the shake alone (although the presentation was fantastic), but it was a nice combo with the food. Get the rosemary parmesan fries, you won't be sorry! Fyi, the rice crispy treat shake has chocolate and caramel in and on it which I didn't expect.

But are loaded with garlic and I was scared my child wouldn't eat her burger due to the garlic on it. She didn't like the garlic fries which would made me even more scared in anticipation. I cleaned most of the garlic off of the burger that I found and put it on a different plate before she noticed and thank god she was just fine. I'm sure other moms can understand my fear haha. Her kid burger was huge! If you have two kids you could probably cut it in half. I got the bourbon burger which was fantastic beside the yucky wilted lettuce on it. My boyfriend loved the Cajun, I like spicy food but it was far too spicy for my liking. The shake presentation was AMAZING! The toppings on the shakes made up for the lack of flavor. The beignet itself was delicious! The shake it's self lacked flavor. McDonald's vanilla has more flavor unfortunately. Same goes for the caramel waffle. The waffle on it was delectable, but the shake itself was average. Both shakes tasted like they were just vanilla with a hint of berry and caramel, maybe haha. None of us could tell. Also no fruity pebbles or trick we're mixed in with the berry beignet like states on their website. I wouldn't care about these minor issue if it weren't for the steep prices. $7 a shake, $10-$12 for a burger with no side, and $4 fries. I don't mind paying that but the item should be held to a high standard.
