Stopped here due to it having a drive thru. I had a chip that was kind of stuck in my throat. Needed a drink. Didnt disclose that. I ordered a iced tea. They dont have it. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating and I was amazed at how efficiently the line was moving. The store manager, Dan, was walking through the store and stopped to say hello. Growing up, we only went to DQ once in awhile, for an ice cream cake. There were several good local ice cream places for most things. And now, of course, there are many good ice cream places. So why do I go to DQ so often? Because they often have drive-throughs. And with a toddler, those become incredibly important. Even moreso now, with social distancing. So, ice cream=DQ nowadays. And since I rarely want just ice cream, I end up eating solid food too. They have a decent menu, pretty standard options, good enough to get by on. Burgers, chicken, dogs, sides. This location has a drive-through, like most. It's on a weird lot, and if it's busy you really want to pay attention to the traffic flow. Cross traffic in the lot and at the drive-through entrance. I noticed it was crazy busy last weekend, and passed. This time it was busy again, but we stayed and the line moved pretty quickly. Baby K got ice cream in a cup, with sprinkles and cherries. (Toppings are extra, and the ice cream is overpriced, and they don't have her favorite, strawberry.) I got a chili dog and onion rings. After I gave her a taste of the onion ring breading, we "traded." So, I had some ice cream and she stripped my onion rings. The rings were big, and pretty good. The chili dog was small, and pretty good. I mean, it's a cheap dog, and cheap bun, but it combined with the cheese and chili to make a tasty snack. I also got a smoothie thing. There is a half-wall like structure that separates the register area from the dining area. It makes the entire establishment feel divided. Also, their security system consists of really old cameras. Employees not following COVID-19 guidelines. My husband, our toddler, and I went to DQ tonight to get blizzards. When we pulled up to the take out window we noticed majority of the employees had their masks down around their chins and the employees making the blizzards had the ice cream inches from their noses while getting ice cream from the machine at eye level.
