One of my favorite fast-casual spots in Columbus for a quick, consistently delicious meal and I've already been three times in the past few months. My usual order is the Reuben on rye with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, and Russian dressing. It's always my go-to and never disappoints. I also recently tried the State & Main on rye with corned beef, pastrami, and coleslaw, which was another solid choice. I've heard great things about the Paesano on an Italian sub bun with ham, hot capicola, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and Italian dressing (can be served hot or cold). A friend's favorite is the Figaboudit on grilled ciabatta with prosciutto, fig jam, goat cheese, and arugula. If you go, don't skip the homemade chips with the house-made sour cream and onion dip--it's easily my favorite thing on the menu and worth ordering as a side or appetizer. read more

We had a short wait for a patio table, but it was absolutely worth it the patio is perfect on a summer evening. The food was excellent! This has become one of my favorite spots in Uptown Westerville. I dint believe they have a frier or a grill so when you come here you get true deli food: sandwiches paired with chips or slaw, soups, salads, pies and since they are also a brewery great beer! This night I was craving soup. Their Italian wedding soup is out of the world good! So we made our way to Uptown Deli. I also ordered their harvest salad. We've eaten here multiple times and I have never been disappointed. They have a large selection of sandwich options of which I can never remember what I've had or choose between lol I often opt to make my sandwich a wrap. This past visits I had the turkey chive sandwich. I think this might have been one of the first times in a long time I got it on bread and I think I like the wraps better. They also have a lot of yummy appetizers and the deli in the front has options to go as well such as fresh cheeses. This place is great! We decided to sit outside as it was such a gorgeous day and there was an umbrella for shade too. Our server was wonderful! I ordered the Prosecco with rosemary and grapefruit and it was refreshing. We started with the chips and dip and the burrata. Both were tasty! I had the nut brown ale that was delicious and the smoked turkey & pesto sandwich with macaroni salad and my partner had the chicken salad wrap with macaroni salad. I enjoyed my sandwich and appreciated the flavors. My partner noted that his food was mayo heavy. I agreed on the Mac salad part. It had a heavy dill flavor too. I enjoyed it though. Service was fine, we were seated in the bar area and the bartender had a full bar seated and stayed pretty busy. It's a neat place and enjoyable experience. The noise level was bar like but we were able to enjoy our conversation. There are plenty of tvs for the sports fans, I guess. Not really our thing, but it didn't bother us. My friend ordered the Pisano Italian Sub with the chips and beer cheese, (this beer cheese sauce is none like any other and something I'd specifically go back for!). The Uptown Deli and Brew is a great pub. The menu leans heavy to pub food and includes a nice variety of sandwiches, soups and salads, charcuterie, and a wide selection of appetizers. The house chips are excellent and are an option with most of the sandwiches. Their cole slaw is an excellent alternative to the house chips. I've dined here at lunch and dinner; and have enjoyed eating inside and on the patio. In addition to the food menu, this IS a BREW PUB and they have a nice selection of beers - brewed in-house. I had the pleasure of stopping here for lunch yesterday and it was absolutely phenomenal! I ordered the Italian sub (had different name on the menu but I forget) but it was perfect! Probably the best I've had in Columbus and I've tried ALOT of places. I also got the cheese curds and omg chefs kiss! The Cajun ranch with them is a beautiful paring! I will say it was a bit pricey for a lunch. $26 for a sub and curds was a bit steep imo but it was worth it. read more

I'm surprised by the overall rating this place holds. 4 stars? The beer selection here is great, and there is a London Pale Ale that I immediately fell in love with in my short visit. The atmosphere is casual and this is a really cool hangout. We got a salmon carpaccio appetizer that was so good! Loads of capers and a delicious dressing make this really amazing. I wanted to like this place so bad because of the hype I always hear about it. It fell VERY short for me. 2 stars for ambiance and having employees that are understaffed, but still friendly. We arrived and waited to be seated for approximately 10 minutes. There was a guy up front who was answering the phones, seating tables, and serving tables. He saw us and finished doing an order behind the register, asked if we were picking up, and then asked us to wait after we told him we wanted a seat. He went to a table and took their order. I get being understaffed... it just seemed weird to me! This is definitely not the reason for my low rating. I can tolerate waiting. We were seated outside in the very back. No problem at all. It was private and we liked the little area. The table was unsteady. My wife actually had to find something to put under one of the legs to stabilize it. It took an additional 10 minutes for someone to come out and grab our drink orders. Guess what?! It was the same guy from up front. Even though there was another server on the patio at that time. 3 of us ordered the watermelon margarita. So disappointing. Every margarita brought out was a different color and tasted completely different. There was a slight hint of watermelon in a few of them, but the rest just tasted like salty watered down tequila. We would have probably said something, but our server was so busy that we didn't get a chance to. The other drink order was a beer flight. The server notified my brother in law after he received it that approximately 3 of the beers were no longer available, so they substituted. This wouldn't have been an issue... but some people like to order flights for specific beers. We ordered the house fried potato chips with house made sour cream and onion dip. They were good... nothing crazy! Our other appetizer was the soft pretzels. The soft pretzel was deep fried and extremely greasy. The best part of it was the whole grain mustard, which I ended up dipping potato chips in. I decided to get the chicken salad wrap because it's really hard to mess up chicken salad, right?! Wrong. They did everything to mess this bad boy up. The chicken salad reminded me of baby food. It was mushy, too much mayo, and overall disgusting to be honest. The macaroni salad matched the wraps energy. I love mustard... but this tastes like they made pasta and just put mustard in the pasta. We all left feeling like we made a bad choice picking this place and decided to go across the street to Whits to hopefully make up. Thank god for Whit's frozen custard because it ended up being our real dinner. read more

I was a guest speaker and had a brief achievement award presentation to make to a memeber of a local men's organization earlier in the evening. The tradition of this particular group is to meet up at this business for some brief fellowship right after their meeting has concluded - and I was invited to join them. On the evening I visited there was plenty of street parking. If you're familiar with downtown Westerville, traffic and parking can be somewhat of a challenge throughout the day. I was pleased and surprised to find parking right in front of Uptown Deli and Brew. Upon entering the front of the business, I discovered a quaint little deli, with all the accoutrements one would expect to find at a well appointed shop. There were some spacious booths for dining as well as a few tables in this front area. Exploring further back into the business I further discovered that it opened up into a full brewhouse style bar. Visible through large windows behind the bartender service area, are huge stainless brewing vats! Plenty of wood all over gives this portion of the business a cozy well-established feel. I've posted pictures of the menus, but would point out that in the later evening it appears that the deli is closed for business and the kitchen as well. The bartender and service staff on duty were very quite friendly and eager to help, but it's important to keep in mind that, at later hours, food may not be available. I have found this to be the case at a number of businesses post pandemic and was not at all surprised that this was a current operational model. The menu selections did look intriguing, and I'd really like to go back for another look and taste to see how the deli and kitchen perform! I'm glad the group that I visited with introduced me to the spot - which I previously had no idea existed. It's almost always great when you find a new place to try out! read more

I went here for lunch last week with a client. Client is local to Westerville and recommended this place; I'm so glad she did! We ordered the pimento cheese dip and bruschetta to start. The pimento cheese came out sizzling and had small crostini's for the dip. When I say mouth watering, I mean it! The bruschetta, I don't think I've had better bruschetta anywhere! The bread was thick, cheese, crispy on the outside but meaty on the inside. Lots of toppings overall would go back just for it! For my entree I got the hot Italian beef. (Ate it too fast for a picture which I regret now). Loaded with beef and cheese. It was huge! AND the homemade chips it came with were superb! The Scotch ale keeps me coming back. Their service was prompt I went into refill a growler. There's a $1 charge for that growler, I think they sanitized it or swapped it out. 64 oz Growler fill is $18 for the scotch ale, assume it's similar price for the other drafts, of which they have several in-house varieties. I also noticed they're doing Valentine's day charcuterie boards, attaching photo, may have to check it out. Great local spot to check out.
