The managers treat their employees and new hires horribly, I've seen the owner cooking food and walking around the store bare foot with no socks and shoes and it was disgusting. I went through the drive through at about 8:55pm and I was told by the person working drive thru (blond hair) that the grill was turned off & they didn't have any gravy & I was only able to order chicken.. when I got to the drive thru I asked her if they closed at 9 and she told me that the restaurant closed at 10. It's a Dairy Queen so you pretty much know what to expect but I wanted to comment on the great service we received as a group. This place is right by the Yakima Convention Center and they did a great job when we brought a large group in for the Washington Prevention Summit. We had a good sized group of middle and high school students and the staff (which seemed small) kept up with our orders and I was impressed. There were a couple mix ups but the staff fixed them quickly without hassle. They must be used to dealing with groups and have done a good job training their staff. read more

This is a horribly run store. I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. I show up and first they can't find it. Then they pretend like they find it, but then spend 20 minutes creating it because it wasn't ready. I was there an hour and half after it was supposed to be ready. They always blame something for their tardiness --like doing their "job" is a setback to doing their job. Just HORRIBLE customer service and the longest wait times of any "Fast" food location I've ever been to. I'm so disappointed that this is our closest DQ. Im a huge fan of customer service. I happened to be in Yakima over the weekend with family. And we stopped in at a Dairy Queen, to me nothing here is really that special food wise. I usually dont write reviews on fast food joints but I just was really impressed with the service of the staff and the willingness to go the extra mile for me. I ordered a plain hot dog and was asking to see if they had relish. Apparently they had run out, but the lady that was helping me was willing to cut up some pickles in the back for me. I never thought I would ever give a Dairy Queen a one star, but the service was so bad here... The only thing I think they did right was the Blizzard. My wife ordered an Asian Salad. It was the last thing to come out and she didn't get a fork with it so I had to ask for a fork. When I ordered it they ask me what dressing but when it can, it came with no dressing. They have a certain part of the seating area reserved for what I would call Gang Bangers as ther kids in that area seemed to have a difficult time keeping their paints pulled up. And no matter how many car's were in like or people waiting to have their orders taken, one of the employees was over in that area with the Gang Bangers... If I could give zero stars as an option, I would have. HORRIBLE customer service. I brought a gift card in to use through the drive-through (which we got brand new) and they said that it didn't work. They tried for 15 minutes (while the ice cream was sitting there mind you) and then said that not only was the card not working, but that their card machine for credit/debit was out! The girls at the window just acted like there was nothing they could do, so we walked away empty handed (family of 4) very disgruntled Determined to solve the issue of the "not working" card, I called the number on the back of it (as I thought they should have done themselves!). They said to have the restaurant call the number the next time I go in and they will verify the amount on the card, and approve it to switch out for another card. We went into the restaurant the next time, I explained the situation (which a few of the girls were there in the back from the last time) and the guy spent 25 minutes calling the number, then calling the manager, all but to have the manager tell him that she would be in at 9 PM and that I could come back then to talk to her! WHAT KIND OF MANAGER DOES THAT?! The guy I was working with this time though was the saving grace for this restaurant (he should be promoted to manager), because as I let him know of our frustration- the fact that we came in twice to get ice cream as a family treat and were going to have to walk way empty handed again- he felt bad enough, paid for it, took down my number and said the manager would call me when she came in. While this was a much better outcome then the first go around, it shouldn't have been the regular worker who decided to do this! The manager still hasn't called me back.
