How have I missed this restaurant in my eatery portfolio? They checks all the boxes, fast, friendly, clean, fabulous food, filling, and great prices! The horchata was on point! IM MEXICAN AND THIS PLACE IS CRAZY AUTHENTIC !!!! First off the birria tacos had the best best flavor ever!! I dipped the taco in the consume soooooo delicious!! If I'm ever back in Washington you know I'll be there for the tacos!!! The horchata wasn't too sweet at all but still had the cinnamon flavor to it! I really enjoyed that! We stopped at Nino's on a whim and so glad we did! My wife ordered the Monster Burrito, but she was super jealous of my Vampiro tacos. I got the cilantro and red onions added And it was so good. Not from this area. Saw reviews on Yelp and decided to give this place a try. Came here Saturday evening. Line was pretty long -it wasn't out of the door yet but almost. We waited about 30 minutes to even be able to place our order. Tried the tacos, carne Asada plate, nino bowls. Food was bland, flavorless, medium salsa tasted like tomato paste. We stopped here on the way home from a weekend away. We all got the birria tacos and they were fantastic! Some of the best I have ever had. The rice and beans were great as well. Ninos is now out must go to spot while driving from Seattle to Bend, going through Yakima WA! Best tortillas I've had outside of being in Mexico, made to order in front of you each time. They're HUGE too, so "Monster Burrito" lives up to its name for sure! I'd had tacos barilla yesterday, and the broth was delicious! Chips n salsa only okay, as the major focus is clearly on the main event lol. Very friendly staff, bathrooms down the hall, and a joined spot for PHO with folks dining and seated in the same general area, for those looking for maybe a different option. What a great find! I cannot express how welcoming Brian was when I entered. Having never been there before, he recommended (everything!) on the menu and made our enchiladas and super burrito with everything we liked! I've wanted to try birria tacos for quite a while & finally decided today was the day. Nino's got great reviews so that's where I went. Damn!!! Other places are going to have a difficult time compared to these!! Fresh made, delicious....served with sliced radishes & lime wedges (and a hot sauce that I kept the lid on...delicious but hotter than my palate could properly appreciate). I literally drank the remaining jus that I had dipped all 3 tacos in. I got the lemonade to go with it...not too tart, not too sweet. Ordered through ubereats while in town based on the good reviews. "Monster" burrito should be called muy poquito, does not live up to its name, it was half the width you see in the yelp reviews from a year ago. Paid for double meat in the burrito and the meat we had was gristle. Vampire tacos did not come with a sauce cup to dip which is the best part. Half of our order was either not received or served incorrectly, very disappointed. I would not order from here again. I was so frustrated by missing food that I did not take pics of our order. read more

I've been trying to come here for awhile because who doesn't love Mexican food? But every time I remember to stop by its a Sunday. Apparently they are closed Sundays. Boo! The atmosphere has a fast food vibe, colorful chairs and decor. They have horchata and cups set out. They have fountain drinks in the back and jarritos in the. Cooler behind the counter. You order a la subway style and they make it in front of you. I felt bad for the two girls working as it was dinner rush and it was busy! Anyways, the best part! I got a Ninos bowl which is like a rice bowl and pretty reasonably priced. She loaded it down with toppings! I got chicken but you can get beef or steak, choices of Spanish rice or cilantro lime rice, black beans or refried beans. I got Spanish rice with refried beans and omg! It was so good! You can get corn, Pico de gallo, guacamole, onions, cilantro, lettuce, grated cheese, sour cream, Chipotle sauce. They also have hot, mild or medium salsa they make there. I got the hot salsa and it was so hot! They don't mess around with salsa. I feel like I'm missing some toppings but it doesn't matter because it's all good. They also have homemade tortillas. So people are clear, the ordering concept is Chipotle. The quality is NOT Chipotle, it's as if Chipotle was consistently good, fresh authentic and good (which to be clear, Chipotle is not so.............) You pick what you want - burrito, enchilada, tacos, etc and build from there. Pick a meat. Pick toppings. Pick sauces. Guacamole is extra (DAMMIT). We came here on our way to the Gorge and needed dinner! Our first choice was a bust and Yelp saved us with this place. We quickly decided to share a burrito. They were out of our first choice - Carnintas but suggested the Advodada. Tack on lime rice, black bean, corn, salsa, sour cream + guacamole we were ready to go. Oh did I mention they COOK YOUR TORTILLA when you order it? Amazing. It was great. Fresh, tasty and filling and not a wallet buster. Next time I'm headed to the Gorge, I'm stopping here again. read more

We found Nino's whilst doing some shopping in the area and what we experienced was some of the best Mexican food we've had in the area! Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this place is run by some ladies who have the food thing down! Upon entering, you're transported to a world where they roll their own tortilla's with a rolling pin, make everything in front of you and serve the horchata with a ladle. Everything about this places is authentic, right down to the prices and serving sizes. While it's not food truck inexpensive, it's a small step up and the quality is AMAZING! I had a torta and my best half had the sopes. Both were made in front of us, including the tortilla! The sides are standard, with the exception of the cilantro rice - GET THE CILANTRO RICE, it's most good. The meat flavors ranged from standard chicken, to carne asada and adobada. All was excellent! One in a growing list of amazing Mexican spots in the valley. Having just moved from the Midwest, we didn't realize how much incredible Mexican food is available here, but we're excited to continue discovering it! There's a reason why Chipotle didn't last long in Yakima and Nino's is why. Nino's is essentially the same concept as Chipotle but with more options. You choose what style you want and then you go through the "mix-ins". they have a pretty great list of things that you can put in and the service is great. My go to is the monster burrito which is truly monstrous. read more

Great burritos! They are so big that I dare you to finish it in one sitting. They even made and heated the flour tortilla right in front of you. I had never seen anyone make tortillas that big before. Only small corn ones. The steak was juicy and flavorful. The hot sauce was a perfect dressing to keep the burrito from becoming too dry. The pinto and black beans were authentic and looked like they didn't come pre cooked from a can. And the added thick rich crema sauce was definitely a winner with my taste buds. I will be back next time I'm in town and try the enchiladas. Hopefully they have something with mole sauce because if that's tasty, this will be the only restaurant I visit when I pass through. read more

It seems as if all locations are not created the same the best location for Ninos I would have to say is in the Union gap. It's right next to I believe Chili's. The food is phenomenal. The portions are great. The people are welcoming. The only thing is they raise their prices which I understand due to the economics of today. However, some of the prices are a bit extreme, considering that Mexican food does not cost a lot to make in bulk portions. As a latina I'd say food is good but not worth it due to the pricing. I'd rather go to a real restaurant and eat. Just for reference I ate at Red Robin n Ninos was more to eat at. read more

Traveling in SIGairstream from Denver to visit my brother and sister-in-law in Seattle we had a hankering for Mexican food and learned on yelp that Nino's was a must. We were NOT disappointed! Such fresh, amazing food. I loved my bowl and husband was bowled over when they hand made the tortillas for his tacos on the spot. We will be back on the next trip to the northwest. read more

Let me tell y'all....whenever I return to Yakima, Washington I'll be coming back to this awesome place!!!! This place has awesome food that's freshly made food...and what really impressed my family, and I was their tortillas. "The freezer's full. Stop bringing home tamales." She's an infidel, a blasphemous Pharisee whose ignorance of the one true tamale is a point of ridicule. Tamale's are an art more than a science. My grandmother used to shut down her kitchen for two weeks each year to make tamales, which would fill a chest freezer for her husband to feast upon for lunch throughout the year. And when we went to visit, he'd share his hoard. To a point. They're both gone now, but I no longer have to wait for a family trip. Also, I can drive myself, so there's that. I make what I call The Tamale Run, a six hour drive that starts with a drive to lunch in Union Gap, a cooler filled with ice and a stack of frozen tamales, and ends with a saunter through Mt Rainier National Park. There are far worse ways to spend the day. And before you go and say, "Hey, you're spending half your day at a park," understand that part is the side quest, the icing on the cake if you will. A bonus I enjoy, but would gladly live without. So long as I get my tamales. Most tamales are dry. The masa tends to lose too much moisture when steamed. The result is typically a crumbly mess that lacks flavor and makes me wish I hadn't bothered. Los Hernandez tamales are moist, rich, and filled with consistent flavors that take me back to the trips of my youth, when my biggest concern was running out of AA batteries for my Walkman (I'm old). So do yourself a favor. Make the trek. Enjoy the journey. Savor the tamale. Ignore the other voices who tell you not to waste gas driving that far for something you could get closer, even if the nearby offerings are crap and unworthy. Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.
