What is happening at this place?…read more I haven't been to this Stuckey's since I was 10 or 12 but they have Godfather's Pizza now and I wanted to go. I haven't had that kind of pizza since I left Florida, as it was in most Hess station convenience stores. I've been to a few Stuckey's stores during a trip or two. They're always overpriced and conditions are inconsistent. The previous reviews would tell me that this place was a dump. All I really remember is the tiny Stuckey's store before they added Dairy Queen. They have a decent multiple pump gas station outside with some expensive gasoline--it's probably more than 20 cents higher than other stations in the area. It's good inside, as far as the building and tables go. They have typical convenience store and Stuckey's merchandise and a full-sized Dairy Queen counter, along with what looks like a portable Godfather's Pizza counter, and many tables and booths. So, I'm standing there looking at the pizza menu. There was a woman to the side of the counter, but she said nothing and walked behind the cash registers for the convenience store. A high school-aged girl is rapidly moving back and forth around the place, but no one seems to be stationed at the pizza counter. Eventually, the high school girl returns and takes my order for a mini Classic Combo. She said it's going to be 20 minutes, which seems a longer time for their pizza than I remember. She doesn't take payment. While I was waiting, I sat at one of tables with an overhead vent and had to move to another table because it was really chilly. While sitting there, I noticed that no one seems to be working much. The person at the DQ counter is hanging on the cash register and there are a few people in the back talking and another is on break eating. A few people order DQ food but the employees don't seem enthusiastic or friendly. After a while, I go to get a drink out of the case and my pizza is ready also. Sitting down again, I'm at a different table with a vent overhead. The pizza is hot and the olive slice that was on top looks really crispy. Surprisingly, the pizza is what I expect from Godfather's--good. $4.99 for a mini is a little high, as Cassano's sells a thin crust 6 inch deluxe for $2.99, but Cassano's is quite a drive. $1.99 for a 1 litre Mountain Dew isn't totally unreasonable, either. As people are leaving, the person at the DQ counter is spinning a quarter. I'd think he'd be wiping the tables, but nooooooo. I believe I saw 8 employees and there have to be more to take care of the pizza making and baking. They should have the place looking amazing and travellers feeling great to be there. Instead, they've taken an updated place with two kinds of food and turned it into a place you probably wouldn't remember. They really need to get their act together. Update: the situation is worse with each visit. The place is more dirty now. Apparently, they replaced everything but the sticky, icky high chairs and booster seats. A couple of flies were trying to keep me occupied. They put out a typical Godfather's to-go unit for mini pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza had soaked through the bottom of the cardboard box and was extra dark on top, probably to compensate for whatever liquid is inside the pizza. I suspect they're trying to stretch the ingredients, but they've given me a reason to stop eating here.

Stopped in for a banana split blizzard on my way home from Illinois today. I had a yummy banana…read moresplit blizzard, which was very tasty. The worker was swamped with people ordering ice cream, but she worked very quickly and got the orders correct. Soon, the long line was gone and customers entered their sought after ice cream comas. The new Royal Blizzards looked tasty, but I didn't want to get that much sugar. Good stuff!
