The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

Our server, Chloe, introduced herself with a smile and provided us with a quick refresher. I knew from her energy that we were going to be in great hands for the evening. (and I was not wrong, lol) Chloe was personable, attentive, friendly, and down to earth. The service she provided us was excellent! I ordered the Swamp Thing for a cocktail. Sweet, fruity, and pretty... that green cocktail did exactly what it needed to do, lol. FIVE STARS! Now, on to the food... The Gator Bites are a MUST. I ordered the hot honey sauce on the side just to play it safe and I am glad I did, because babyyyy, that spice had no boundaries. If you're a lover of spicy things, you'll be good to order as is, lol! I also ordered the Roasted Oysters. Another MUST! The oysters had a parmesan crust with lemon garlic butter drizzled over them... They were gone in minutes! I was on the fence for my entree, but then my girl Chloe clocked that Pasta Mardi Gras and the rest is history. It was creamy, savory, and packed with flavor. I knew my girl wouldn't let me down! Our experience was excellent! I definitely recommend reservations. Pappadeaux wasn't terribly busy when we arrived, but by the time we finished up & headed out, they had a line out the door. If you're in the Cincy area, add to your foodie list! Overall, a great restaurant for a GNO, date night, or any celebration.

For appetizers, we had the roasted oysters and the hot honey gator bites. Everything was phenomenal. The special had a white wine sauce to die for and everything was wonderfully seasoned, I also had my salmon blackened which was chef's kiss. The gator bites were tender like chicken and the oysters were so flavorful! For the drink, I had the Swamp Thing cocktail and I was happily buzzed after finishing it. It was sweet, refreshing and the alcohol wasn't overpowering. Highly recommend Pappadeaux's if you're ever in the Cincinnati area!!! Customer Service: Chloe was our waitress and she was knowledgeable, sociable, funny and caring. She did a wonderful job in giving recommendations and telling us about the specials. She checked on us consistently and was never overbearing. The staff was timely with the appetizers, and the ebb and flow of the crowd seemed under control and all waiters/waitresses were ensuring orders were correct. Thank you Chloe for the top-tier service!! Ambiance: Pappadeaux's is typically upscale causal to business casual, but everyone is free to come as they are! It is family friendly for all ages. The decor gives an intimate open dining vibe. When it gets busy, it's BUSY. But the wait will be worth it! I guarantee there is something for everybody. This place is perfect for any occasion, celebration, graduation, birthday, date night, family dinner, a day trip - whatever your heart desires. The Cincy location is the best!

Okay... I'm still thinking about this meal like it personally changed my life a little bit…read more I had the haddock and WOW. The batter was that perfect golden crisp where every bite had that little crunch, but the fish itself was flaky and melt-in-your-mouth soft. You know when something is fried just right and not heavy or greasy at all? That. And the tartar sauce?? Not your average situation. It had this fresh, almost elevated flavor that made everything even better. I was literally dipping every last bite like I didn't trust the plate not to disappear. But honestly, what made it even more special was the people. Every single staff member was so kind and welcoming, and the chef actually came out to talk with us. I got to thank him personally for making me such an amazing gluten-free meal, which meant a lot because that's not always easy to find. Just one of those places where the food is incredible, but the experience somehow still steals the show. I will 1000% be back.

The owner takes time away from the kitchen to talk his guests like family. In a small town, you can tell the vibe is just that - they all know each other. We had a large group celebrating Mother's Day and between us I think we had 7 different menu items. The rib platter and grouper were among those and a "first come first serve" dish. You can tell they go fast and my husband got the last rib platter. They were juicy and full of that great smoke flavor you want to have. I had the fish and chips, an easy favorite it was cooked perfect with no fry oil leaking off the fish and the taste of cornmeal taking front and center. My teenagers had the grilled chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. Both exceptional. In our family, we tend to share like it was all one table meal anyways so it was great to see not one dish we had wasn't worth the trip there. It's my Mother-In-Law's favorite local restaurant so to get in (no reservations needed), sit down and have a great meal was awesome. Now; they do have signs about not hanging around too long because of how busy they stay so if you are one that likes to digest their meal for awhile at the restaurant, you may not be able to depending on the crowd. Overall; great place and I am a sucker for those local, small business owner places.

If you hear banjos, RUN. However! It's worth the drive and the possible buckshot injuries to get yourself to the Laurel Hotel for their Friday and Saturday buffet. You can choose from either the Country Buffet ($13.95) or the Seafood Buffet ($17.95). There's really not a huge difference between the two, as long as you're not a rabid crab/frog leg fan (which we are not). There's still a variety of seafood (mostly of the fried variation) on the Country Buffet. The chicken and dumplings are worth the price alone. Filling, flavorful and homemade... can't beat that. There's green beans, mashed potatoes, pan-fried chicken... just like you remember Grandma making them. In fact, this whole place kind of smells like Grandma's. Comfort food, old stuff and just a hint of mothballs. It's very clean, though, and the waitress we had, Terry, was very helpful in explaining buffet protocol. We left very satisfied... drove right home and went to sleep on account of the food coma. We'll go again, I'm sure. Apparently you can also take the scenic Whitewater Valley Railroad from Connersville to Laurel in order to eat there. I'd almost suggest that over driving, as State Road 121 is nothing short of treacherous.
