Hubby & I stopped in for lunch Friday early afternoon. We got the senior lunch for $12.49. It was busy but the restaurant was clean with tables being cleared quickly. I visited the huge salad bar first & filled my plate. There were 3 kinds of soup & a taco bar also. Next, I got meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, cooked cabbage, broccoli & pot roast. Hubby filled his plate also & loved the fried catfish. Everything tasted delicious. Chef Joseph here 11/24/24 Wife and I had lunch here today. Food was great all except the steak. Worst cut of sirloin I've ever ate, stringy viens, tough crew. I don't know where they get thier meat, but it is a bad cut. Plus the person cooking or torturing the steaks needs to be properly trained. read more

Dangerous server. This server has been working at golden coral since at least 2015. I always thought he was a good server. Til December 26, 2025. I wore my no kings T shirt. He came to my table after sitting for by the deserts side of the eating area about 5 minutes. I was planning to get my own orange juice by the salad bar bar. He never introduced himself or wore a name tag. So I have forgotten his name. He insisted he would get me some water and orange juice. I said ok. He brought me warm orange juice and water. He ignored me even when he was standing by my table and would not give me eye contact. I wanted to tell him about the orange juice. I drank about one third of it. Then decided to get my own. I put the juice aside. He immediately came over. He asked why I was not drinking it. I told him it was too warm. He offered to bring me ice. I said no it is warm. I like the orange juice by the salad bar better. He stormed off. He was friendly with everyone else. He was chatting about his place he lived. He would give me no eye contact. The minute I left the table to get more food. He cleared my table, including the plate I was not done with yet. Like he wanted me to leave. Needless to say I left no tip. I usually left him a nice tip. I talked to a co worker while leaving saying he was a jerk. He must love Trump. She said he loves loves trump. I said I coukd tell. She said she woukd tell his boss. I left. About a half an hour later I hot diarrhea. I was nauseous and felt like throwing up the rest of the day. About 2 am I had to take a zofran and drink liquid IV. I got a headache for 2 days. That orange juice definitely got me sick. I tried to contact reviews@goldencoral. It must be a fake email. I don't see why a server can go into an isolated room to prepare drinks. The server i had knows how to manipulate the system. He has been there a long time. I don't see why they even have servers in the first place. People can get their own drinks without depending on them to use foul play. read more

It has been a few years since I have eaten at Golden Corral, but when I do, it is a treat. I went there today, and they had quite a bit to choose from. Sometimes you want to try everything, but that's not possible. I had Roasted Pulled Pork, Fried Chicken Leg, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Green Bean Casserole, and Diet Coke for lunch. All of it was delicious! For dessert, I had Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Chips. Somebody called it decadent. It is delicious and is worth snapping a picture of it. I just wish they had cheesecake. I get tired of eating fast food, and ordering delivery to my room every night while I'm out on the road. I mean I go out for 2 to 3 weeks at a time and I eat a lot of it. I like the GC because it offers comfort food similar to what you would find at home. I'll admit it's a tossup. Sometimes these places are very dirty and the food quality is less than appealing. The funeral and graveside service ran longer than anticipated and thankfully the manager Kim, took care of everything to make it possible. In the early days of this restaurant, we were big fans. The variety of food on the buffet appeals to a range of tastes. And we LOVED the salad bar. As time passed, however, things changed. Dressings on the salad bar were watered down to the point that they would no longer stick to the lettuce. Food was over or under cooked. Many food items became flavorless or not-good-flavors. The food bar area did not seem as clean. The staff seemed less friendly or attentive. About this time we began to notice that the restaurant was not being properly maintained or cleaned. First it was the chair backs that caught our attention. We could not understand how management did not notice the dark, greasy grime on the backs of them. We reported it to corporate on three separate occasions; however, there was no change. In our last couple of visits, we noticed the dirty carpets. The air in the restaurant was overly moist, making everything we touched feel damp. It seemed the HVAC system needed better condensate pumps. Plates and silverware did not seem clean (gritty feel). And worst yet, we noticed a pipe on the salad bar which exited on the dining room side was dripping water at a steady rate onto the carpet. During these last few visits, we felt nauseous afterwards. So, we stopped visiting and will NEVER go back. read more

The price was decent. I went in before dinner so it was a little cheaper. The staff were friendly and helpful. Prompt drink refills. The food wasn't the best. As a vegetarian, its always challenging to find food without meat in it. It cuts out a lot of options at a buffet, but salad is always an option. I tried most of the other vegetables they had, but they were bland and seemed to come from a can. There is a fairly large variety of food, steak, tacos, pizza, macaroni, hush puppies. They had a fantastic desert section. It's hit or miss honestly. Went a few weeks ago and it was awful. Most things on the hot buffet was over cooked or not seasoned well. We had to wait in an empty line for service and there wasn't one employee to be seen. I guess they were all on break? Went yesterday and the food seemed fresher and we had an attentive server. I've gone for breakfast on the weekends and that's been pretty good food. For better lunch/dinner food I recommend going at 11 am and 4pm. That has been my experience on the best times. read more

My family decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at this place this year. The place was terribly crowded, but in spite of the crowd, we received the very best waitress service you could ever expect. The personnel also were so gracious to seat the whole family close together where we could interact well with each other. The food was so delicious! The turkey was moist and well seasoned. The shrimp was big and very delicious! They kept everything well stocked, fresh, hot, flavorful, and delightfully delicious! Even the soft serve ice cream kept up with the crowd! The food at Golden Corral is pretty good. When we walked in the lady at the cashier desk as you walked in greeted us very nicely then walked away from the cash register leaving us standing there wondering what happened. The second cashier then picked up the slack and took our order. Then we looked for a table all of which were either occupied or were still complete with dishes and silverware left from the previous customers. We finally found a table with a wash cloth on it and I cleaned it off myself. Now when they charge extra for their Prime RIb and you have to argue with the meat carver for a nice piece without fat it kind of makes the eating experience no so good. My wife asked for a medium well steak and they gave her a piece that looked like beef jerky and about as big as the same. I requested both a better cut of the Prime Beef for myself and then returned to the steak area and requested a better cut of steak which they gave me. I then gave the better steak to my wife. The Meat Carver basically acted as if I was wanted special treatment. He then drop his carving knife and looked at me and said "OK so what do you want ? The meat all has fat on it?" I pointed to one end of the Prime Beef that was pretty well devoid of fat and said "How about that end?" The Carver sighed and cut the piece off and put the meat on my plate like I was being unreasonable. Their Brussels Sprouts were a bit hard. The Lima Beans were really good. The Mash Potatoes were very good and the Dinner Rolls were soft and warm. When you spend nearly $40.00 for 2 meals you would expect to be able to get the same cut of meats that the other guests do without having to play let's make a deal with the staff of the restaurant. When will businesses understand it is a buyers market. If they want our retirement dollars then they need to understand there are countless restaurants vying for those dollars and if they want to beat out the competition then they need to start treating customers better. A meal for $13.95 is anything from Texas Roadhouse to Golden Corral to most of the countless buffets available. If Golden Corral would like some free valuable advise ? You got the food part down for the most part. Now start working on your staff. As a retired U.S. Marine I appreciate Golden Corrals work with the Wounded Warrior Program as well as other projects with retired / veterans military personnel. You would expect that when you spend nearly $40.00 for a buffet even though the food was good the service should also reflect the same. If the food service personnel want $ 15.00 an hour then they need to step up their customer service skills. read more

Horrible tasteless food. I thought the ribs covered in BBQ sauce would have some flavor but didn't realize until it was too late that they appeared to be sitting in a pool of water causing them to be moist and flavorless. The macaroni was also the correct texture but I tasted nothing. I decided to try the prime rib and got pizza on the way. I know prime rib is suppose to be pink in the middle but mine was nearly raw and bloody. I bit into the pizza and bit into something that appeared to be a bone.
