I always enjoy a visit to Daiso; the Japanese dollar store. Regular items are $1.75. Other items are priced higher and you can find the conversion rate of yen to US$ displayed in the store. Cutesy items, Hello Kitty brand with lots of food items. It had been awhile since visiting any Daiso. I was surprised to see all the different food types sold. I saw dried fish, different salts, candy, chips, beverages, ramen noodles, soups, teas and more. I wondered about the noodles and how tasty they were but decided to pass. I had to giggle at the tiny socks to cover chair legs. Practical and funny at the same time. Your floors would be protected from scratches though. Staff were busy restocking and also offered assistance if you needed it. A fun trip to see the different items offered. Shared parking spaces. read more

i haven't been to daiso for about three-ish years, and my experience from today solidified my desire to revisit it again in the future! for those who haven't been to daiso before, it's pretty much a japanese dollar store (yen shop to be more accurate, since yen is japan's currency) stocked to the brim with the most adorable trinkets you can think of. given that this location was closer to home than the last one in chandler, the drive time was much shorter. my mom and i came here on a tuesday morning, which meant that it wasn't super crowded; my type of scene. the daiso theme song played over the store's speaker (i didn't even know daiso had its own theme song, it's super cute) and it was stocked to the brim with cute items. the holiday display was right near the front entrance, too. after looking around the store and observing everything in awe, i'd settled on sanrio stickers, a my melody keychain, a plush bunny scrunchie, rainbow hair clips, a tokidoki notebook, a bunny plushie that kinda reminded me of sherbet ice cream, and some snacks; strawberry calpico, hello kitty strawberry marshmallows, and a-sha taro boba tea. the cashier was a sweetheart; unfortunately i can't remember the cashier's name, but the top-notch and friendly service i'd recieved was something that'll definitely stick with me. overall, i had a stellar experience at this daiso. :) read more

Wow, how I love this store even though this was the smallest location that I've ever seen of this store the service was still above and beyond wonderful. The selection was still amazing and the value was still great. It was in a large shopping center so parking was chaotic, but I did not like the fact they didn't have carts, but that's because the store is so small but I would definitely suggest to go and we need more of these stores in Arizona. I call this the "Japanese Dollar Store", even though they sell things made in China! It's a great store for all kinds of things - bathroom, kitchen, girlie stuff, boy things too. Some food and candy. If you enjoy the Asian culture, you will enjoy this store. read more

You will find the little things that make the bathroom more organized, the laundry easier, reusable shopping bags built to last with a zipper.. but you will not find a store that is dark or dingy. Not handy cap friendly, store does not have shopping carts and does not allow you to bring in an outside cart. Says aisles are to small, carts are smaller than trying to maneuver my ride on scooter inside these stores. Won't return had to shop elsewhere. read more

Decently priced items, mainly from Japan?. Prices range from like 1.75 to 15 bucks? If the item doesn't have a price on it, then it's 1.75. Otherwise prices are either in Yen or in US dollars. There are signs all over to help you find the conversion of Yen to dollars. Examples: some decent sized squishy plush are 5-6 bucks. Pretty cute. Large ones, about 2 feet? are like 13. Disney forks and spoons are 1.75 The store is a bit overwhelming because there is a lotta stuff, similar to when I go to dollar stores or five below. The key is to at least look through everything once, then in the future if you know you want something, you can go in and find the item. This mainly works for staples like bowls, cleaning supplies etc. I assume the more fun stuff like stuffies and other branded stuff is more rotated. They have self check out in addition to 1 cashier. If your self check out double scans, get the cashier to fix it. Staff seem very nice as well :) read more

I don't know how I missed this location opening, but I'd been dying to come check out Daiso forever when I saw them advertising the east valley locations they were opening. If you've never heard of them it is best described as a Japanese Dollar Store. Prices are even written in Yen, but there are plenty of signs nearby to help you convert to American pricing. Prices run from about 1.75 to 16.00 or so. I came already knowing I was looking for Hello Kitty options, snacks and the dishes. Anything else I may find would be a bonus. It's located in a pretty busy shopping center shared with Walmart and Lowe's as well as quite a few others. When we arrived we were greeted pretty quick and I knew I'd be coming back with the items I was already seeing by the door. They even still had a pretty good selection of Christmas items out. A few aisles over i found my Hello kitty. I instantly added so many items to my cart. My daughter and her friend found quite a bit of things as well. i loved the selections of dishes. if you love sushi at home they had so many assorted plates and such for it including little plates/bowl for sauces. There were even little tea pots, saki cups etc. They honestly have a great assortment of everything from kitchen, bathroom tp pens/office supplies and even plushies. read more

Was overcharged for two items last week. I came in today for a refund or price match and was refused given the reason that a manager wasn't available. Keep it in mind that these were busy retail hours at 7 PM on a Saturday. I'll never shop here again. Also there was a scary looking homeless person camped out front. read more

Finally! We get a Daiso in the west valley! This store is big and very clean! It has plenty of stock and lots of thing to choose from! I can't wait until they open even more locations closer to Surprise! But until then this location is wonderful! read more
