Parking can get quite horrendous since there's so many businesses and restaurants in the plaza. So keep that in mind since it can become a PvP zone. This is a solid Daiso the couple of time's I've been here. Though we are suffering through inflation, and Daiso is now $2+ for most items, that's unavoidable everywhere. In comparison to the other Daiso locations that I frequent in SoCal, this location has way more kawaii and cute character goods from Sanrio, San-X, and Disney, as well as more oshikatsu goods and items from the cute, feminine Threepy home goods. These sections had more variety and were way more well stocked than the ones that I have been to. It's a decently sized store with aisles packed with goods and it can get a bit narrow and claustrophobic but I'd rather have that than having an emptier store. I was able to find an iPhone charging cable here and the next day in SoCal, couldn't even find one. Variety is crazy. Lines can get a bit long, but there's self check out here too. read more

This was my first Daiso back years ago. I just never thought to review it. So here goes. I've been to many Daiso's since the first time visiting here so I'm aware of the price increases over time. Things change, a little more of that and a little less of that. All the stores have the same prices and the same choices to stock. What's different is the square footage and the management running the shop. This one's clean enough and the service has never been anything but somewhat robotic. I hate to love this store! This is like dollar store on steroids. Minimum price on items used to be $1.75 a few months back but is now $2.25. At a minimum $ amount set at 2.25, some items are a steal while others are a rip off. Example- composition note books are sold for $0.39 or so in target and Walmart but are $2.25 here. Some items are pure plastic junk and low quality but others are whimsical and cute. I purchase a lot of bamboo based food covers, placemats, cutesy non plastic garden decor, ceramic plant pots, kids birthday return gifts, fancy gift bags/wraps etc here. read more

I love Daiso and this is one that I frequent quite often as it's on my way home from work. As with all Daiso, they have a wide variety of items for your home - whether it's for the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, etc. I have purchased many things from here over the year and most have been of good quality for the price. I think that there's only been a handful of times I've gotten home and decided I shouldn't have gotten an item because of x, y or z. In most cases, I enjoy my purchases and tend to go back for more. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Daiso does have a rotating selection of stock on certain items and sometimes I have to go to other locations to get matching sets. Overall, not a big deal - more items to browse at other stores is always a win. Service has always been friendly and any questions I had were always answered as best they could. I haven't been here quite as often this last year as I've stocked up way too well - but I'm sure I'll be back once my supplies of pencils, highlighters, erasers, etc, for the kids run low. read more

My family raves about Temu but I have Daiso. Why play roulette when you can pay reasonable prices and get your stuff right away. I tend to head on over to the IKEA when I need to do a massive restock of kitchen expendables. Prices are usually reasonable even if quality can be a bit iffy. Then I realized Daiso probably had everything I needed, prices are reasonable and I could count on reasonable quality too. Well mostly reasonable quality. The Saratoga Ave Daiso is in a shopping center that is just crazy busy. I was happy to be there, this is one of the larger Daiso. But I had to stalk people to their cars and wait patiently as they left to find a parking spot. Once in I went wild. I love kitchen gadgets and with the Japanese merchandise you really have to try to divine the purpose of the item. Cuz I don't read Japanese. And I can't see that tiny font anyway. But figuring it out is half the fun. But yeah, there will always be the odd item that you get completely wrong. And can't be returned. But prices are low enough that I picked up one or two items where I only *think* I know what it does. But most of the stuff I picked up are repeats and I was pretty confident they'd be fine. I've never actually purchased a repeat item where I found the quality had dropped over the years. If it's a dud, it's usually something new. One thing I wish they had more of are steel items. The quality of the steel utensils has been outstanding. Unfortunately, there is just a ton of plastic. However, the quality of the plastics is reasonable. You just have to trust your judgment. If it feels flimsy, don't buy it. Another quirk of Daiso is item size. It's intended for the Japanese market. Items are sometimes so small it started to resemble doll sizes. But I have a small kitchen and that is often exactly what I need. All in all, I had a great time checking out the store. I found organizers that made me wish I hadn't already cooked up a system because the Daiso version is stronger and more efficient. I found some gardening stuff that I totally prefer to buy here instead of Walmart because the Walmart versions have been flimsy. All in all, it was a haul. The store registers have all been updated. They added what looks like self service checkout but I had too much stuff to qualify. The new system definitely has some problems. I inserted my credit card too early and discombobulated the system. It took many tries to convince it to give me a second chance. I still need to go to IKEA but this is one store where shopping online is much more tempting than wending your way ever so slowly through the store. God forbid you should change your mind and have to go backwards. Items I've purchased in the past and deem reliable: Silicone pot holders (mine still working after about 10 years) S hooks - make sure you check the weight limits. 1 kilogram is 2.2 lbs Hair doodads - Asian hair works best with asian hair thingamajigs Clay pots - love those things for reheating leftovers - generally not microwave safe rice/noodle bowls and chopsticks - last forever but not very microwave friendly even if labeled safe - I avoid microwaving ceramic. The steel kitchen utensils - very well made. Mine are 5 years old and looking like new, plus assorted strainers, measuring spoons/cups, etc... Clips for laundry lines - I've got a collection that dates back to the 2000's - generally I lose them, they don't really die. Laundry bags - I still have two from about 20 years ago. These things get tossed into the laundry about once a month. When will they die? Tools - I have a random collection of screwdrivers, scissors, generally good quality. Some of the tool collections (drivers with 20 different tips) have been made of soft metal but still great because the specialty tips get used once every 5-10 years. A plastic citrus juicer - small but mighty - I've juiced 20-30 lemons at a time on this thing. Wish it held more juice but works great. Stationary supplies - very reasonable quality - pens/markers have excellent supply of ink - mine last 2-3 years, don't dry out. Paper comes in small quantities but decent quality. Didn't really work out for me Organizing bags - the Japanese mindset must be different from me. I could never really get these to work Super specialized cleaning tools - tiny broom/dustpans for dusting windowsills, tiny melamine sponges only big enough to pinch, there must be a dozen different bottle cleaners each one designed for a specific purpose. Plastic food storage boxes - a bit on the flimsy side, individual portion sizes. Generally too small for me. I don't microwave plastic so it was just more stuff to wash. Couldn't find any glass storage containers with locking plastic lids. read more

I was looking for blank index cards in a specific size, and Daiso didn't carry it anymore. The store associate, Christian, was kind enough to show me other options. Location - inside a business plaza so parking can be tough to find during certain hours. I've came here in the late afternoon before and was able to swoop a spot easily but imagine you could be circling around a few times before you find a spot if you come in the morning due to the supermarket. Daiso is "everything is $1.50 unless otherwise noted" which I appreciate... what I don't appreciate is that some of their stuff actually isn't noted and you won't find out till you get to the register and the cashier goes, "This is $5." Granted, I do thank them for confirming the price with me first before moving ahead with scanning the other items. This is my go-to Daiso as the selection is stocked compared to others but the cashier was rude. I was waiting in line for an open self checkout kiosk, the cashier is motioning me to use the one that's occupied by a customer who was helping the lady next to him. I tried telling her 5 times "someone's using that one" and she still continued to tell me to use that one until the customer perked up and said "oh, i'm using this one still, she's just having issues with this kiosk". The cashier then put her hand to her forehead, rolls her eyes, and sighs loudly. I'm also in the service industry, so I'm very understanding that a service worker can have a tough day and customers can be a bit too much at times, but I wouldn't make a fuss right in front of paying customers, girl i would go into the break room and scream instead. While I was scanning my things, it was just my luck!!! An item scanned twice, and when I tell the cashier this, she ignores me!!!! yay!!!! This particular location clearly isn't the best Daiso Japan I've visited, hence the two stars. Snack aisle is the primary reason for my visits and this trip was most definitely a bust!! The majority of the wall was bare and the lack of options was a letdown. Ive been to Daisos around the bay area from san francisco to san jose but parking is super difficult here during the middle of the day. Best to come when they open. The selection of kitchen and basic household items is good compared to the Milpitas one. I requested an order be held behind the counter for a specific name tag item and read the sku item number to make sure I was getting the 10 name tag but instead I received 15 separate name tags which was double the price. Daiso is known for its value selling items for dollar price compared to other chain stores like target or walmart but the customer service must match the customers needs for any successful business. As a special education teacher I need name tags for my students who are nonverbal so I will just go to the teachers store next time for more reliable supplies and pay a bit more. read more

There were some unusual items like fragranced band-aids. My nieces would like those! And pineapple themed pouches - my nephew's girlfriend likes pineapples... and Christmas is coming... hmmm... I would like to commend the staff for being SO PATIENT. Customers need to realize though that NOT EVERYTHING IS $1.50. Throughout the store there are stickers and price tags that clearly label what is $1.50 and what is not. Anyway, staff is great. They aren't super warm and welcoming (I personally don't look for this for a store to be 5 stars and they are usually understaffed), but they do their jobs well. There are so many cheap things that you can't not love it. I love going for stationary and the carpets have honestly been a lifesaver because I use them to line my rabbit's home. Lots of good Japanese snacks. Lots of household supplies! You can find a lot of great things here! Definitely swing by if you have the time and you might end up walking out with $50 worth of things easily! read more

This location has wonderful customer service, good inventory and plenty of parking. there are always wipes carts and baskets at your service. prices are wonderful and the quality is wonderful. this location in particular happens to be about a 10 minute drive from me and it's convenient because it's located near other places where I run my errands. But inflation and pandemic it makes sense. They always keep the place clean which I appreciate but I do like going to the Cupertino one more sometimes. Oh yes my local Daiso. I have been coming here for quite awhile and must declare this place isn't too bad. Their only downfall was in 2020 when the pandemic caused them to limit customers. Other years, I have no issues finding what I need at a very low price. Even when the price is $1.75, I don't seemed to be deterred by the change. Now on thing I realize is this location seems to be a huge hit among everyone and I mean everybody in the neighborhood. You can tell by the cars parked here that people from all walks of life here. Everyone seems to want low cost items. My favorites are the garden stuff, this weird toy truck I have been eying for the past months (This is a hobby shop issue I've been having because I am a fan of electric locomotives), the dining and tea sets and the snacks they have. Unfortunately I don't buy my snacks at this Daiso because of my tendency to venture out of my hood. If you are looking to replenish face masks, this is the place to go. Staff here is very sweet and speak different languages. Drawback: Parking here is very tough so plan accordingly. If you got family who only speak very little or no English, you might need to translate for them because a staff member that speaks a different language is not guaranteed. read more

One of the few Daiso locations that's still open. Also, if they have face masks, soap, bleach, etc. it will be in the front and earlier in the day. I tried stopping by for some office and sewing supplies --didn't find anything I usually would get during non-COVID-19 times. NOTE: Store may refuse service to customers not wearing a face mask. The employee takes there job way to serious , I have a service animal and I guess they have a " no pet sign in the store " my thing is why ask for my dogs service certificate when she's not even on the floor , I carry my service animal in a carrying bag , she's literally harmless to anyone , but the young man at the register was way rude we were already paying and he still had the nerve to say and tell me "your dog isn't allowed inside the store next time " LIKE excuse you ? Lmao I'm literally paying for my things about to leave and he still thinks he has all the right to say that my service animal isn't allowed, like you're a dumbass learn the rights of service animals , my dog has more manners than the cashier will ever have .
