Bloomingdales is my favorite store to shop at! I love to stroll in "just to look" and try on things for fun but also go when i'm looking for something for an event coming up. The layout, lighting, and neat hanging of all the clothes from different brands make it easy for me to see what pops out at me. I love when i feel like the clothes find me! I've shopped here recently twice, one for a wedding event and one for my birthday dress just on a whim. The clothes r higher end but make me feel so good so im happy i can come here and shop bc it's so close by! Also, their tailoring isnt free but the service is very convenient as u can get a tailor called up to help u right before or after purchase. They usually require at least a week but can let them know the urgency. We've paid $65-$120 for different dresses. read more

Excellent 5-star service from Mariam at fine jewelry department and the other female staff at dinnerware area. With Mariam, our conversation started off with a mutal agreement that "real diamond is not the same as lab-created diamond, and it's much better." A common sense is not so common anymore? She not only answered all my questions but introduced me to loyalty program so we could take advantage of reward saving. Besides being professional and knowledgeable, she was also patient, warm and honest who didn't try to hard sell or up sell, instead focused on building relationship with me. She cared about what I wanted and respected my choices. I liked her advice of "put your liking first." when I expressed the tendency of considering my offspring's liking. Moreover, while being congruent, she also made wonderful suggestions. I will keep her in mind for future jewelry shopping. We also learned about "Villeroy & Boch" dinnerware pieces from the awesome staff. Their ceramic/porcelain wares are amazing! I had such an odd interaction here that I needed to leave a review. I came to the Chanel counter for a refill on my foundation. The clerk told me my color was sold out but they had the next color up. I asked if it was too rosy for me and she said no, then looked at me again and said I'm too pink so yes, it would be too rosy for me and then walked away. I turned around, thinking maybe she was looking for an alternative for me but she was just on her phone at the register and looked bored. She didn't bother to help, ask questions, or give me alternative options. So I walked out. I went to Nordstrom and the experience was a total 180 - they took the time to talk through my options and explained that my foundation was discontinued. Idk if the Bloomingdale's girl was having an off day or what, but I would be wary of shopping here in the future. read more

Service at the online pickup counter was awful. I asked the lady there where I can do online returns and she said at other registers inside Bloomingdale. So I went inside and asked a man there and he directed me back to the online pickup counter since I had an online order. I went back out and told him she refused to help me and so he walked me back to the counter and directed her to process my returns. She was epically unhappy and upset. She asked for a manager to take over my returns after ringing up the first 2 dresses. I have no idea what their issues are but they should work out where online returns should take place. I had a particularly good customer service experience with Marisa. I was looking for white shorts for the summertime as my 10-year old Paige shorts were too big and had stretched out. I originally wanted to try Paige but Marisa bought more options like Seven for All Mankind. I realized this fit better. While they didn't have my size, I tried on the smaller size to see if it fit and then I ordered two sizes. Bloomie's is pricey but I like their contemporary styles. Nordstrom used to be so good at buying but now their styles aren't as good. It's nice to have Bloomie's although I admit I cannot afford to come here very often. We went here for the Black Friday sale. They had some really good collections for party wear for women! Much more than what Nordstorm had. It was full of wonderful sequences, Christmas colors, gold and silver. They were all great! I wanted to get everything! It's also newer and just fresh overall. The salé however wasn't as much as expected but still pretty good prices compared to the regular price. The service was great, I had two lovely women ask me if I needed a fitting room and checked in from time to time if I needed help. They were very courteous and accommodating! The only hold up was at the billing when our cashier needed to be given direction on how to pack the dresses and she took much longer to get us sorted. Which was fine cuz she might've been in training. Men's collection was pretty great too. Definitely worth checking out for holiday shopping! read more

I received a gift from Maison Francis Kurkdjian and I needed to exchange for a different scent as I still had some of the one I was gifted. I know this fragrance is pricey but it's is absolutely amazing. I was greeted immediately by Leo at the counter with a warm smile and greeting. Leo immediately looked for the scent I was looking for but it was out of stock. Leo right away placed an order and we had a great conversation during this period. Leo even honored the 10% off promo for me instead of just doing an even exchange. When my fragrance arrived I went to pick it up and Leo was there. Leo walked with me over to pick up and personally assisted with getting my package and bringing it back to be engraved. Leo's customer service was beyond top tier and very rare from my shopping experiences. Bloomingdale's is lucky to have Leo and I can't wait to go see him again. Leo gave a sample of what will be my next purchase as I am loving the scent. February 22, 2025 - 12 to 1pm - MAJE SECTION I came today to return 3 Maje cardigans to the Maje section at Bloomingdale's. The cashier (20s, thin rectangle glasses, black hair, female) didn't understand why I wanted to return my Maje items to the Maje section of the store. I assumed it would be easier for the cashier but she kept saying "in terms of what?" and kept telling me to go elsewhere to process my returns. So I went to a different cashier on the same floor. This cashier processed 1 cardigan and then brought me back to the Maje section for the other 2 cardigans. It was hilarious. I'm not upset that they only accepted 2 of 3 items for the return. I'm upset that this location hires cashiers that refuse to... cashier. read more

She was so pleasant to work with, made everything extremely easy, and put a smile on your face for the rest of the shopping experience. I continue to appreciate this Bloomingdale's retail location, especially given the San Francisco store closure. It's always helpful to see the styles in person, make purchases in a real store, and do any returns and exchanges from the online transactions. Can't speak to the actual store or items because I only bought something online and came in to return it in the women's department but I have to say I was a little intimidated going inside because they have security personnel and fancy looking items which I don't normally buy, but the lady who helped me was extremely nice and made the return process very easy for me. The clothing inside was really fancy looking and I saw some sale racks. Bloomie's opened just yesterday in Silicon Valley's upscale Westfield Valley Fair, and it is VERY nice!! It's levels above the Stanford location which has been showing its age for a long time now. You'll find many ​familiar name brands, like Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, LV,​ and Moncler, but here you'll find higher-end​ products within the well-known luxury brands. You'll also find Missoni bedding and an entire section of Kluft beds. We're talking nice luxury! They're celebrating their opening with plenty of fun hoopla, which I believe will be going on all weekend long. My fave was the Spin-to-Win game. We spun the wheel, and we won a Bloomingdale's umbrella and a nice metal straw and pipe cleaner. A lucky winner could even walk away with a $100 Bloomie's gift card! You just need to be an existing "Bloomingdale's Loyallist". Simply give them your phone number for verification. They were also giving out alcoholic snow cones, had a few arcade games and a fortune teller. Employees weren't the most knowledgeable, but the ones I engaged with were all very enthusiastic and pleasant. Hey, it's only day two for them on the job for them, so let's give em' a break and some time. I LOVED this gorgeous brand new glam location! Bloomingdale's is huge and beautiful with high end quality merchandise, clothes, shoes, perfumes ,etc with variety brand and luxury names. You can comfortably spend alot of time browsing if that your thing. Parking is easy fairy close right by the store. I want to love everything about Bloomingdale's but that would be living in an ideal world..lol. Yikes. Strong recommend to pass on this one. I brought in a return with a receipt for a pants I'd bought less than a month before. It's from the aqua brand, and it was the last pair, but the tag had ripped off when I was trying it on. I didn't expect to return them since they were for my wedding rehearsal, so I didn't really mind that much. But then, my wedding was cancelled due to Omicron. It'll be rescheduled at some point, but I needed to recoup as much funds as possible and since I was going from a winter wedding to (probably) a spring one, I decided to return the pants. I brought the receipt and pants for a return. I said it didn't come with a tag-- huge mistake. Should have clarified it came off. Anyway, the manager Marisa literally started yelling at me in the middle of the store. Like, not exaggerating, actually yelling. It was so awkward. She accused me of wearing them-- which I'm sure happens, but did not in this case, as it was special event clothing. Also, she didn't even look at them, let alone inspect them-- she just yelled it in the middle of the store which was embarrassing for both of us. I tried to deescalate the situation by asking her to show me on the receipt where it said items could not be returned without a tag. She started yelling again that she was the manager and it was her call. At that point, I was tired of dealing with her so I decided to take the hit and bail. I've attached a picture of the receipt, which says, "you have 90 days to return this merchandise in saleable condition" -- NOT "Marisa, floor manager of the Westfield Valley Fair Bloomingdale's, can decline a return without inspection while yelling." Honestly, I love Bloomingdale's and will continue to shop there, but probably not at this one. read more

IMHO This review is for the 2nd floor women's bathroom... This is Bloomingdales! This bathroom needed cleaning. One toilet was closed off for repairs. At least 3 more had flushing issues or dirty toilet seats. The one stall I eventually found "presentable" had no seat covers available. I was rather shocked at the lack of service attention here. The one bright spot was the young gentleman (wish I'd caught his name) who gave us specific directions to both men's and women's bathrooms (on separate floors), then wished us a nice evening. This was my first shopping experience at a Bloomingdale's. I came in specifically looking for a pair of Gucci boots that were sold out everywhere. They had them in stock!! I was so excited. The associate who helped me was extremely friendly and patient as I tried on different sizes, asked questions, and took time to think about it. She wasn't pushy at all and just seemed happy to help. I didn't catch her name but she was a young blonde girl who previously worked at urban outfitters. She got us signed up for the loyalty program, which is a free way to earn points while shopping. I will say the atmosphere of the store was quite nice. It is VERY overwhelming. The displays are beautifully merchandised and it is very organized. I would say it's easier to shop if you have a specific item in mind. Or if you have an unlimited budget I could see that working in your favor as there is so much to shop through. Overall I will definitely be returning. I'm excited to see what other exciting items I purchase from this store. read more

Much to our surprise, we encountered outstanding assistance and customer service. Kiane is the best stylist we gave seen in many years. Add exceptional care and attention to detail, which is almost a lost aspect of stores in general and definitely in department stores. We also had a similar experience with Isabella. Well I must say that the store is beautiful but the service leaves much to be desired. Much to my chagrin, this is the type of store that profiles its customers. Meaning that they will scope out customers and approach those whom they think are likely to spend money. I was in the store for 40 minutes this past weekend, and not a single person greeted or acknowledged me while I was shopping. I wasn't dressed to the 9s or dripping in designer but I was dressed presentably and held multiple items in my arms. In other words, it was clear I wasn't just there to browse. It wasn't until I was in line to check out that someone finally spoke to me. I signed up for a loyalist account, paid for my items, and went on my way. Then when I went home I continued to browse the website and realized that regular priced items were supposed to be 20-30% off!! This promo is being offered in stores and online, from 1-1 to 1-5, so I was definitely eligible for the discount. Guess who did not give me a discount? The hapless sales associate, who apparently didn't know about a promotion going on storewide? Useless. Finally! A Bloomingdales at Valley Fair! I have been waiting for their opening and I am so glad I visited during their grand opening week. Throughout the week, there will be prizes, fortune-telling, selfie station (that did not really work), etc. Also, they will be serving wine, snow cones and hors d'oeuvre. If you get the chance, definitely stop by to visit Bloomingdale's Grand Opening! I was so impressed with the store! Literally, all three stories. I mean, Bloomingdale's was beautifully decorated with very nice setups all around. Some spots make really great photo ops! They have pretty much all my favorite brands all in one place so I am thankful for that. It really does not get much better than this for a department store. However, I am not impressed with their staff. Most of the staff that I encountered today were either unknowledgeable, unfriendly, liars or they just give off a bad vibe like they are better than you. Here are some examples: -Unknowledgable- I flagged down one of the SA to ask her about brands they carry inside the store and she didn't seem to know if they did or not. She said I can just go to the third floor and look. Maybe they're just really new and unfamiliar with everything. Let's give them some time. Moving on... -Liars- I saw that they had one of those spinning wheels and I was so excited, plus I was feeling lucky. There was a line and a girl was going back and forth asking if we were "Bloomingdale's Loyallist." I said I was already, but my husband asked if you had to be a Bloomingdale's Loyallist in order to spin the wheel. She said, "Yes you have to be in order to spin the wheel. They will need your phone number" So my hubby signed up for it so he can participate in the festivities, but when it was our turn to spin, we found out you absolutely did not have to be a Bloomingdale's Loyallist to spin! Anyone can spin, and no one asked for your number. There isn't even a place where you can put in your number to spin the wheel. Disappointed she kinda lied to us, for what? To get someone to sign up with her? -Unfriendly- The first thing I saw when I walked in was a credit card booth and I was interested because I love to shop and wanted to learn more about the incentives for opening a new credit card. I walked up to the booth where there were two workers. One of the girls was helping someone and the other girl wasn't doing anything so I approached her where she just looked at me, didn't say anything, or even a hi, so I left because I am not going to open a credit card with someone that can't give me their time of day. Then again, not one SA or Employee even said a "Hi and Welcome to Bloomingdales!" or "Can I help you find anything?" I came close to 8 pm and it wasn't busy so I know it wasn't because they were so busy with other customers. Overall, I am very impressed with the store, well the layout anyway. I think they did a great job with the setup. Beautifully done. I was so excited about this store but honestly, I was kind of disappointed by the sale agents/employees and how they walk around like they own the place. I am going back to Valley Fair to return an item at Nordstrom tomorrow and plan to stop by once again to explore more of Bloomingdales. If I get a new experience, I will definitely update my post, but the chances are low. Maybe it's because I'm Asian. lol, who knows!? For now, I think Nordstrom and their employees are such wonderful people and are so much more friendly, helpful, knowledgable so I am always going to bring them my business first. My girlfriend bought something that soon after went on sale. Most other stores will price adjust prices over the phone. Instead, Bloomingdales makes you to drive to the store and waste energy to adjust sale prices. I tend to only write negative reviews when I feel my time is unnecessarily wasted, which Bloomingdales has achieved. We drove in traffic to the mall only to find the store closed early on a Friday (4pm!) for a private media event. Now we have to try again. While the correct business hours were indeed reflected in Google Maps, it wasnt on Yelp. This is a very unusual closing time. Again, this is over a matter that should be a phone call or email, and not take hours of our time to resolve. Care about your customers, not media and influences. Your priorites are wrong. read more
