It's a Japanese $1.75 values store for all things cutesy! They have many items that have a wider range of prices. If there is no price tag, assume it's $1.75. Everything else requires price conversion. There are items that you may find have a better value at the Dollar Tree. It's pretty organized, but the stock may be unpredictable. I use to get the charcoal dehumidifiers but they no longer stock it. I really like their laundry bags and kitchen bowls, plates, and saucers, which they still carry. The laundry bags do vary in quality, they use to manufacture them at a better quality. I also love their silicone molds for baking ranging from Minnie Mouse, Pooh, etc. They are opened for decent hours. I do not like their self check out because it's very sensitive. You can easily and accidentally scan an item twice. The service is great, the associates always greet you upon arrival and they're pretty knowledgeable about their stock. It's a great place to find a lot of inexpensive Japanese things for decor, beauty, organization, accessories, utensils, snacks. If you have time, you can go up and down the aisles just to see what they offer. It can be a pretty fun experience. These days, I mainly go to see the cute things they have. They have a lot of cute Sanrio and Disney designs on small things like paper decor, stickers, small gift bags or accessories. There is a sign usually on the shelves that tells you how much items cost in USD if they have a price listed on the item. The prices are in Japanese. Sugar Land has already amassed a reputation of being one of the most Asian parts of the greater Houston area, but it's legit when there's a Daiso in the vicinity. After shopping at JUSGO and 99 Ranch, I drove by and did a hard double take (#1) when realizing it was a Daiso and a brand new one no less. For now, the aisles are squeaky clean and the inventory looks to be well organized. There was a good number of staff setting things up when I last went and I'm excited for when everything is setup the way it was intended to be. The workers here are still getting the hang of things it seems. Unlike most discount stores, I think Daiso does a really excellent job with stationary and office supplies, cookware, and electronics. The quality isn't going to be mind blowing, but Japanese anything is always a big plus in my book, especially when it comes to presentation and utility. I also really appreciate the enhanced selection of snacks and Japanese drinks. Most things in the store range from $1.50-$3.00. It's easy to load up on a ton of stuff and leave the store with way more than initially expected. I was at Somi Somi when I spotted the bright pink interior of Daiso across the parking lot! Daiso is a "dollar" store from Japan selling lifestyle/home goods, beauty/health products, kitchen accessories and servingware, organization containers, stationary/gift wrap/pens/pencils, snacks, drinks. The prices range from $2 - 15 (most products being $2 or on the lower end) there are signs explaining the price conversion from Japanese Yen to US Dollars. They have branded collaborations with Sanrio for stickers and Winnie the Pooh for a cooking mat, among many others. It is an absolute treat to roam through the aisles and admire Japanese design and how they have a tool for most everything. Cute x functional! They just opened two weeks ago. If in line with other stores, they don't accept returns. They had a sign that they don't accept American Express. There's plenty of parking and it's in the same plaza as JusGo and 99 Ranch, tucked behind the now empty Luby's. This location is smaller than the ones in the Bay Area and I believe Houston as well but still manages to pack a lot of goodies so come check it out! read more

Great place to shop for pretty much anything for the household that you could imagine . Staff is friendly courteous and respectful. Lots of items to choose from ( ie cooking supplies to gift wrapping or college dorm room). And their supply of international candy is out of this world read more

It's like the Japanese version of the dollar store! (Except the base price is $1.75) Except I think it's higher quality than your average American dollar store. This place is fun to browse around! If something doesn't have a price marked in a red/pink bordered circle, then by default it is $1.75. They have a huge assortment of items, like a regular dollar store. Party planning items, kids items, stationery, kitchen and laundry items I LOVE that the packages say what the item is made of. Like it'll say polypropylene or PVC/vinyl so you know what you're getting. Who doesn't love Daiso? Their stuff is so cute and reasonably priced that it's hard to leave without buying something. This past visit I bought a Winnie the Pooh pop-up laundry hamper and hand towel. Will they last very long? Probably not, especially in the hands of a little one so I wouldn't expect the best quality but it gets the job done! They stock items on Tuesday and Thursday said one of the cashiers there, so those days are your best bet in snagging the cutest new item! read more

Clean, new, Daiso shoppe! I'm liking this new location in the burbs' even more than the original in the city. This location of Daiso is sparkling clean & super organized. They pretty much have every random item that you're looking for. Items that you might not even need, but eventually grow accustomed to! Daiso has quality products that are shipped from Japan, which is why I was surprised that this location was stocked up to the brim. Although much smaller than the location in the city; it's basically compacted and has the same products. This location is situated in the heart of Sugar Land, specifically within the mini Asian plaza. The plaza has grown so much in the past few years and it's a warm welcome to have Daiso in the burbs'. A colorful spot full of random niknaks, food products and home furnishings. You'll basically find something for everyone in this little shoppe. It's a neat spot for practical gift giving ideas. I brought my toddler nephew here, and he was thrilled to find toy cars. They have awesome toys for the youngins' and cute kitchen items for the older folk. Most products are $5 & under. You'll be able to pinch pennies & save quite a lot. All in all, this fun little shoppe always comes through. It'll definitely be a spot to revisit again whenever in the S.L. area. read more

Uncomfortable. I was shopping with a friend on 06/20/2022 at 8PM, and as I was checking out, the cashier was glaring at us and not breaking contact. I stared back to signal to him that I was uncomfortable with him staring at me, and continued to shop. He then pulled us aside and asked to see our receipts. I shop at Daiso almost every week, and I've never been asked that. He said "It's because clients usually accidentally scan items twice," though as a former retail worker, I know that's code for "We think you're stealing and want to make sure you didn't take anything," We weren't acting suspicious, and we were scanning as usual. I notice that when I go out clothed in my skirt and blouse, I'm not questioned, though when I go in comfy clothing, workers at this location all of a sudden want to "help" and "assist" me. BS. I hated how I felt like a threat to their business just by shopping there. If this happens to you, they're just really suspicious of you. I wouldn't recommend going unless you're dressed "fancy". read more

I love how well organized this store is. First time coming today to this specific daiso and ended spending almost $100! There's so many cute things, not only for kids, but for adults too! Who says adults can't get any of these cute things lol. I wish the company would allow Apple Pay, it would help others so much. It seems like the employees are always doing stocking everyday, so you will definitely see this store fully stocked compared to the one in Katy and Westhimer. I wish those stores had better employees and had more things considering they are way bigger than this sugar land store. I recommend everyone to shop here! You won't regret it. read more

I love this store! What makes even better is how helpful and kind the employees are! I've been shopping here for about 3 months and they always have new stuff. They have great storages if you want organize your room, office, kitchen, etc! Self checkout is a pain in the behind but the cashiers are always there to help you if something is wrong. I like that they ask/check up on you if the self checkout is giving you issues. Although I have noticed they allow food and drinks now..unfortunately I've seen food and drinks on the shelves. It's so unsanitary and I wish they would ban foods and drinks again because people are disgusting! Overall, 10/10 recommend this store. Everything about this place is amazing, especially the people! I love the employees, they're so loving and so amazing! Not to mention the crew is extremely diverse race and ethnicity wise! I might have to sue daiso for taking my money, it's so hard not to buy something ! Everything is so affordable! The self check out isn't that amazing, but the cashiers make sure your items aren't scanned twice! If they ask to see your receipts, it's just to see if you've scan any items more than once by accident, don't take any offense to it! Also the store does not allow any food or drink in the store, keep that in mind! Also for that person Joyce person, she is spreading false info! They are not racist! If anything I've seen some people be racist to this one black employee that works there, people need to do better.
