One of my favorite fish to eat is walleye and when I saw that as an appetizer option, it was done deal. The walleye was lightly breaded, flavorful and portion amount was perfect. What was an added plus was the bartender was very knowledgeable of the menu and did a good job of selling the food. If you're in the area, give Maverick's a go.

The chicken breast was the same quality and the dad added a side of wild rice. Wine menu is descent for the area and I ended up with a pinot that was a nice accompaniment to the steak. They are still in the stage of refreshing some of the interior but what's improved is the cookery of the food. On this visit it was their typical Tuesday Tractor night and was good to catch up on some ole friends. I ordered a typical dish which was their hamburger steak and side of mashed potatoes and side salad. I was surprised and impressed on how well the hamburger steak covered in their brown gravy sauteed onions and their mashed potatoes where especially tasty.
