Pros: -Large and clean restroom and shower area. -Very close proximity to Red Rocks concert venue (5 miles = 10-15 minute lyft/ uber ride). -Very cool biker bar walking distance across the street with food, drinks and live music! Cons: -Pricier than other RV places we've been to. Approximately $60 ish per night for 2 people with a 20 foot long campervan -RV spots are very close together, not a ton of privacy, not a huge deal for us bc we didn't spend much time at the site, it was really only for sleeping! read more

To begin with, this was not an inexpensive place to stay. We were given a site that was so un level that we asked for a different site twice. Both times told no. They had plenty of empty sites we could have moved to. They did give us some bricks as we did not have enough of our own (never in the past 10 years have we ever had this problem). The stairs to the camper were so high up that it was extremely difficult to get in and out. I am 71 and my husband is 72. I have had 2 knee braces replacements in the past4 years. The steps were so high that my husband fell trying to exit the camper. A fellow camper saw him and asked if he was okay. He didn't have any serious injuries, but is still sore after5 days. There would have been a lawsuit if he had been hospitalized. We have never had a bad experience like this, and would not recommend this campground. I sent them an email, but have had no response , not even an apology. read more

Don't reserve unless you are confident you can be there. Worst cancellation policy. Have to pay up front and no refunds. Management "no customer service", will not work with you if you have emergency! I'm sure many arrive and end up cancelling because of the loud music from the bar across the street. What? I can't hear you because of the volume of music [sic] from the bar across the street! The park says they cant do anything. That includes warn potential customers. If you are looking for an obnoxious loud out of tune place where your teeth rattle and you have to shout inside your RV to be heard, then this is your place. We closed up our RV, turned on the A/C, and set the TV volume to blare and still can't drown them out. Called the office and they could care less! The biker bar across the street has been playing nonstop horrendously loud music. Bikers that ride by also rev their engines scaring the dogs. Regardless of the nice amenities, the noise pollution will keep us from ever returning. It's been pretty much loud music since the afternoon til well past midnight. Provided a level, full hookup site as expected in a city location and at a reasonable price. It's a very busy campground with tight space as you would expect based on the location. This is one of those places where you can't really trust the reviews. Seeing what others have said we were worried but so far have only had a good experience. We just came from a bigger, newer "resort" style campground, and feel like this place is just as nice. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the road noise from the nearby freeway and the bar(s) with live music (but hey if you can go check them out ;). So if you're wanting something quiet and secluded, this isn't the place. But that's really the only issues we had which weren't a deal breaker. Most of the spaces are big and on pretty leveled cement pads. Accompanied by a grass area with picnic table. We actually reserved a back in space. We are pulling a car with our Rv and while we were unloading to back in, staff showed up and offered us an available pull through. It was a small additional fee but we appreciated the attention to their guest and providing an easier solution for us. The pool area was clean and seating was nice. I rate your facility a W! -The A3 site chosen is gravel with a hole or two and significantly tilted low to the front left....requiring a 4 high stack. -The highway is busy and noisy. -The bars across the road are noisy with loud music now and promises to get louder as time goes by. Staying with you is not a privilege. You promise a resort and we get a big city tenement. This place was fine until it came under new management a month or two ago. Since that time I have had to call the police multiple times because of illegal behavior on the property. The other night I had to call the police because someone came into my site and helped themselves to my tools and the tools got all covered in dogshit. The facility told me that if I reported illegal behavior to the police again I would be evicted. I've been here for almost a year without a single complaint against me, but I made a single report of the illegal behavior on the property and all of a sudden I can't reserve here anymore. The best part is, the manager showed up while I was in the shower and forced me to come out of the shower naked to the door while he screamed at me and tried to conduct an illegal eviction. I had to call the city of Golden Police Department and have them respond to cut this illegal action short. Their excuse is that they say my rig is unacceptably cluttered. I have a few crates outside and a workout bench. They said they can't cut the grass because my electrical cord and water hookup are an unreasonable waste of space. Every rig in the park has those. This place is a great example of what happens when you give idiots basic power over other people. You can't show up and tell me I need to leave in an hour because I made a police report about illegal behavior on your facility. This place is a joke. All of their equipment is always blowing around and there's trash everywhere. My rig recently got hit in a windstorm by an unsecured picnic table here. The best part is, I cleared all of the belongings that I have tucked under my rig with management before I moved in. They approved all my stuff last year. As required to hold any site, I paid half up front for a site with sewer, water and power hook ups. Mason (staff) was always helpful but the sewer connection was uphill, ie by definition tanks can not empty and instead flow backwards, ie it does not work. I mentioned this at the front desk. No solution was offered even though I had been charged for a site with its own working sewer connection. As such upon arrival I had to use the public sewer connection, then before check out had to do the same, plus wait for availability, and then the water was turned off, too. I asked manager for some refund bc I paid for my own working sewer connection but as they know, the sewer connection at the site is uphill and does not work, plus they assigned the site to me knowing the sewer connection does not work. They not only did not fix what they knew did not work, but they charged upfront for a sewer connection they know does not work and then refuse any refund for what they advertise and collect payment for services they knowingly will not deliver. Water was also turned off just before check out time, which was very inconsiderate, especially given that the temp that day was in the 90's. read more

We made our reservation April 2025 for pull through full hook up paid $176 for our deposit for 3 day. Checked in on our june 29th day to find EXTREMELY loud music at the biker bar across the street, and that the disgustingly dirty owner had decided to change our reservation to back in site with not enough space for our tow vehicle. He said if we don't like it we could leave so we did, however, pretty sure we will lose the deposit. We do NOT recommend anyone stay here read more

We won't be back! It's to bad! There really isn't any nice RV Parks in and around Denver! And this one is ridiculous! Being a full-time rv'er it is very important to be able to get our mail wherever we are at. Not here.! They do not allow USPS to deliver to this park. Now, you can get FedEx and UPS if they don't hand off to USPS to deliver it. We've had to make a few trips to the post office to pick up our packages that got sent away. Also ... if you like quiet, you will not like it here! There is a biker bar across the street and if you're in the front section of this RV park, it is so loud that you cannot hear your TV over the noise! Granted, they only play on the weekends! But then you also have to hear the sounds of the motorcycles, taking off, revving their engines every time they decide to leave! So loud! read more

Check in is smooth and staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and fast laundry. Pool is refreshing and CLEAN. Office staff is on point. Garbage pick up at site is a nice touch! Bar across street has live music and decent food too. Denver go to spot. The only complaint I have is it is OVERPRICED. It with all the Denver rif raf living in rvs now, they are trying to price them out. But at these prices, you can get a hotel. I had a negative experience with this place. I was given a rather uncomfortable site. The rv next door looked like they lived there and we're making repairs. I get it that happens. Immediately behind is an industrial area. It just lead me not to want to sit outdoors. So I walked around and there were several other sites that were much better and small for my camper situation. I was told that since I checked in, which is automatic when you come in your assigned a spot no choice that I was made aware. So they charge me $35 to change same site to same type site. Any place with "resort" in the name must have a functioning spa and pool, IMHO. No spa, it looks like it was removed some time ago. Pool is "seasonal" so did not open until Memorial Day....maybe, as it was still pretty green when we departed on Friday of the holiday weekend. The biker bar is a tad noisy BUT they have the best breakfast. We ate there twice. The general facilities at the park are meh at best. The laundry room was undergoing renovations (for almost a month when we were there with no end in sight) and was down to only 3 washers, 3 dryers. Dreadfully insufficient for the size of the park. We stayed for 3 nights; I gave up trying to do laundry, even early when it opened. While the address is Golden, it's actually about a 20 minute drive to Golden's downtown restaurants and shops. The killer in my opinion is the $25 "early arrival/early check-in" fee. We arrived 45 minutes before the check-in window opened and yup, got charged. All said, there are VERY limited choices in this area. Just be aware, set your expectations low. read more

This RV park sucks. The owner is a greedy jerk. And a new manager started who made the place even worse. First of all, there is NO HOT TUB, the concreted over it last year, and this summer the pool isnt open because of a crack that may not be repaired. The owner refuses to pay to make this place better. $2200 a month is an absolute ripoff for this place with zero amenities. Plus they want to charge you for any extra vehicle, including bikes. The laundry is $5.50 per load. Youre right across from a biker bar that is extremely loud. The employees are nice, but they are miserable working for this place. The list of rules are insane. We had to ask for them to mow our area because the grass had gotten so tall. Also beware of rattlesnakes, there is a big rocky area to walk and the snakes love it up there. Dogs arent allowed outside on leads unless youre right next to them because its (not safe and doesnt make the park look good). Unfortunately this is about the only long term park in the area so not many options. I was waiting to leave to make this review, because we know of people who complained and were asked to leave. Cops are in and out for things being reported, I had to call (and still have it on video), of shots being fired. read more

We are at Dakota Ridge RV Resort in Golden, Colorado, Site # M22. It is terrible and we are grateful that we are only here for 2 nights. Pictures below represent the state of our site - weeds are knee high; there is a sharp dropoff at the end of the site, which overlooks an industrial parking lot. Our door leads right out to the neighbor's connections, including sewer. Our picnic table sits next to those too. Can't put out the awning because of trees overhanging our site. It's Memorial Day weekend and the pool is closed. The showers and laundry room building closes at 5 pm. Plus it's overpriced! Will never be back. read more

First let me start with the spot they put us in (B1). The slot is so messed up. Usually, out your front door you find a nice grassy spot with a picnic table and no sewer connection. Not here. Out my front door I had rocks and the neighbors sewer connection. On the opposite side I did have grass and a picnic table; however, my sewer connection was under my table. You seriously couldn't sit there or move the table far enough to clear the wind path. It was disgusting and in my opinion was an after thought to make more money. It should never be rented! Period! Alright, so on check in I told the lady she had us staying one day longer than we thought. She said figure it out and then let them know so we didn't get charged. We did that and when I went in the following day they said I had to let them know at check in. That would have been handy to know. They did offer a credit so now I am the proud owner of $60.00 of toilet paper. That's handy. Beware. Before going here make sure you know what you're signing up for. Conveniently located in Golden - especially if you're going to Red Rocks. We needed an RV park to stay at while in the area to go to a concert at Red Rocks. Other than hookups, we personally don't have use for much other campground amenities. We were placed in pull-through site H10. It's 65 feet long. Our 43' 5th wheel and truck fit on the site just barely, but it worked out fine for us. There's an overflow lot a hundred feet away that I could have used to park my truck if I wanted to. Our site had 50 amp power, water and sewer. All worked find. The pull through sites are setup buddy-style where the direction of the sites are flipped. This means we shared a front yard with a neighbor. We never used the front yard, so this didn't put us out a bit. Both sites had brand new Lifetime brand picnic tables - really nice. The sites are a bit close on the off-door-side but presented no issue as our off-door-side was next to another neighbor's off-door side. No issue at all here. The CG interior roads are paved. They have a an outdoor pool. I understand they have a hot tub. We never used it, nor know where it was. I believe they have laundry as well as we saw others walking with laundry bags. WiFi wasn't speedy but was easy to connect to and stay connected to. We'd stay here again. read more

I wish that I had read the other reviews before booking to stay at Dakota Ridge! $72 dollars a night with a Good Sam Discount! My $72.00 bought me a tight little space with a Punk Rock concert every night from the Biker Bar across the street. Sometimes the music was so loud we could hear it inside of the RV with the TV going. They had a laundry list of rules, one of them being , "Excessive barking will not be tolerated." (But, Punk Rock is great!) Seriously! The park was not very dog friendly, and almost everyone had a dog! There were two or three designated dog walk areas- one was up a overgrown, rattlesnake infested path on the top of hill. Another was a small circular patch of grass I not so fondly dubbed "Nasty Circle". I have waited three dogs deep, to access Nasty Circle. It was no fun! If you are not a pet owner and you love listening to Punk Rock outside your camper, this might be the perfect place. But, not for me. Never again! read more

My wife and I first came to Dakota ridge about 14 years ago when it was brand spanking new, or newer. Fast forward 15 yrs and couple different states and here we are again in Colorado. Naturally we had Dakota ridge as our go-to destination while we looked for a house to rent, then, the Covid-19 hits and changed the whole world! We have seen the past reviews about this place but our last couple visits here we always had no issues, not anymore. They lost our respect, and us as customers when during a pandemic, with the park empty , they insisted that we check out even while they knew we were waiting for access to our rental which would happen around 3pm that day. So even after negotiating for us to wait as long as we could to leave even disconnecting from their shore power they charged my card for an additional night! Yup you read that right. Because we left at 3:20-3:30pm they decided after NOT contacting me to charge my card for another night $85, not their posted $65 a night charge. And before you ask I already fought it through my bank and they decided with them that the charge was valid, so this is my recourse. If as a traveler you need a location to stop safely on your way to somewhere else, it's way easier to use the Home Depot parking lot with NO HOOKUPS, then to stop at Dakota Ridge. But because the owner is short sighted. He really must need our $85 extra dollars to get by. If he does this to a family who's trying to keep their matriarch safe during a pandemic, how many others who don't leave reviews has he done this to? Just imagine!My suggestion is to plan accordingly so you can avoid staying here until ownership changes and if the staff remains when that does happen and it will. I hope their attitudes change with a new owner. Here's looking forward to hearing about a new sign hanging Over the doors visible from the streets "under new management." Cause this place is as dangerous as the hidden rattlesnakes hiding in their sitting spot, locked behind chains. It's not a good place to be... Biker bar across the rd supplies all the Harley uncorked pipe noise you could ever want. So loud it actually makes the bar seem quiet. Worst park I've ever camped at. Just look at other comments. We were pretty unhappy with our stay here, only doing 2 stars because of how well it is kept. We had a spot right by the street and this is also across the street from the biker bar. On Saturday morning, they started around 10am and there had to be about 500 bikers there. The music is extremely loud and it sounds like it's in your rv. On one of the days of our stay, the water was out from 8am-7pm which was not told at the time of booking. You would think they would give a discount if you can't use one of the important amenities... If your rv is older than 2000, you need to send in photos to be approved. Also, I felt like the workers were always driving around and I felt uncomfortable like we were being watched. The WiFi is awful and there also is no fire pit which we looked forward to. Sucks that there aren't many options for rv parks in Denver because we would not stay here again. It's ridiculously priced at about $65 a night.... read more

We stayed here in 2020 and it was ok. Many reviews have mentioned the loud music and motorcycles across the street, which is an issue. There is also a restaurant/bar on the same side of the street to the west, and they also sometimes have loud music playing. Last year we were in space A16, which subjected us to the loud noise from both bars. This year we were in space M20, which is on the eastern edge of the campground and away from at least some of the noise. The spaces are too close for our taste and too narrow - our camper steps were above loose rock on a slope, and the space was too narrow to move the camper further to the side to safer footing. And you need to make sure you like your neighbors, which thankfully we did, as there is no privacy. See the photo of the campground map to get an idea. However, our biggest gripe is that the campground changed ownership and the new owners don't deserve our business. And this isn't just our opinion - we were camped across from a couple who have been coming here twice a year for several years, traveling from the east coast, and they said that they will not stay here again. As an example, last year we were allowed to take the camper off our truck. This is a bigger deal than some might realize, as it makes for safer ingress/egress, it makes the camper more stable, and it makes it much easier to get around town driving a truck without the camper loaded. This time, however, we were told that we absolutely could not take the camper off - that the owner didn't like the aesthetics. This is a bunch of hooey, as our camper is one year old, is a high-end model, and there were some older RVs needing maintenance in the campground that obviously belong to full-timers, and those aesthetics were much worse. There are other issues, like the showers and roads showing a lack of maintenance, but the staff (not ownership) were friendly. The location is good, but we won't stay here again. Ever. And we don't think truck campers (and many others) should stay here either. read more

This was a great location right by golden which was one of our favorite places to visit while we were here. Our timing was unfortunate as we arrived BEFORE the pool opened up so can't comment much on it. The reviews I read suggested they nickel and dime but that didn't really come up in my interactions. The staff was friendly and present. They had trash pickup which is convenient. I was able to refill my propane onsite which was super convenient. The location was quiet and my neighbors were super friendly. The site was clean and the grounds were kept clean. They even mowed while I was there. The laundry machines all worked so I was able to do laundry onsite. read more

We were in site M33..our neighbors sewer hookup was within 2 ft our our picnic table...while we were enjoying the fresh air, our neighbor had to clean his tanks...absolutely disgusting!! There is NO WHERE to walk our dogs except in the streets. Your "dog walk" had a camper in it with his electric hooked up! We went to the other "dog walk" and it was disgusting...it was flooded with trash in it! I talked to several other campers and they all had negative things to say...the biker bar with very loud music, the horrible dog walk, way overpriced, small sites...Dakota Ridge! We've been camping for years and this was the most over priced, most disappointing campground so far! We won't be back!!! Oh and the staff that rides around in the golf carts aren't friendly at all and I'm not sure they do anything else but pickup trash bags.....the park is filthy and holes in the ground...very dangerous! Maybe someone can fill in the hole in site M33 by the neighbors hook ups...I twisted my ankle while getting up to go inside while our neighbor dumped his tanks last Sunday afternoon! WORST. I would not recommend this place ESPECIALLY if you plan to use their bathroom/showers. One day the showers were clearly not cleaned absolutely gross, another day the bathroom trash was overflowing, another day there was no,toilet paper in the women's handicap stall. A light in bathroom flashes constantly which can trigger epileptic seizures. The pool is not functional which was VERY disappointing in the summer with grandkids. They sent me an email asking for input on my stay and when I responded with the above they completely ignored my concerns which tells me nothing will be done about it. read more

When choosing an RV park in the area, we chose this one for the beautiful pool for our week vacation. Sounded perfect-- go to all the fabulous sites around during the day and in the afternoon lounge by the pool. We drive 2 days to get here and the pool is empty! Why is there an empty pool in the middle of June. So disappointing. No apologies, no explanations on their website saying that it is closed, no refunds or discounts for this RV park with a pool that is empty. The park itself is fair, but there are some major problems here. We stayed here after being assured this is Colorado's best park. Methinks not. We were in a back in space on the east side of the park. They do not have cable, we were able to pick up 4 channels off air from Denver. The whole east side of the park backs up to a metal fabrication shop that ran 24 hours a day. Literally feet from our trailer, work took place 24/7. Forklifts beeping and backing up, metal dropping and being hammered and people yelling. This went on ALL NIGHT. The wi-fi never worked, their router was frozen. The staff said they were not allowed to reset the router and had to wait for someone to come out and do that at some point. The 'gym' is pathetic, an old stationary bike, one weight machine, and an odd rowing machine and hand crank machine. The space was not level and was dirt/gravel. The convenience store was large but very sparsely stocked with odds and ends. The staff was unsympathetic to my complaints. The wi-fi was an issue and the metal work kept us up all night. There was no apology, but they made sure to charge me extra for my children. There are certainly better places to stay in the area. read more

There were two huge piles of dog poop outside our RV. I asked someone to clean them up, but my request was ignored. Even when they mowed the grass, they weren't picked up. My husband almost stepped in another pile while he was walking our dog. Plus, I've never seen so many "No" signs in my year of traveling the United States. This place ain't closed! I know, 'cuz I got kinfolk stayin' up there right now! Okay... okay... as my RV-vacationing Dad is always quick to point out, an RV park IS NOT THE SAME THING as a trailer park, so I need to get my city-slickin', high-falootin' nose outta the air when I'm a-talkin' 'bout such thangs. Whenever they come out to visit Colorado-way, my kinfolk always stay here. It's a decent enough park as far as RV parks go, but before you roll your 'Bago through them front gates, here are a few low-down n' dirty details: First off, dirty it AIN'T. It's really clean, well-kept-up, and even offers a camp store that stocks such basics as the Local Newspaper and non-basics as Kiddie Noodlez for the swimming pool. If you can't find it there, you can probably find it at the 7-11 right across the street. 2. YES it has a swimming pool! Bonus! It's nice, too. There's even a hot tub. And a playground! 3. Watch out for rattlesnakes. They lurk in the rocky hills just slithering distance from your front door. Don't say I didn't warn you. Off-site hiking is not recommended. Especially not with your wee little 'Bago dogs. 4. No cable TV hookups. Kind of odd, right? Especially since it's pretty much par for the course in most RV parks that charge as much as this one does. This can be especially frustrating if... say... you want to watch the NBA playoffs. 5. The so-called "putting green" they advertise on their website isn't much more than a tiny, pitted, putt-putt golf patch (see pics). Probably not a make-or-break amenity for most people, but it's worth mentioning. 6. If you're really looking to "get away from it all," this probably isn't your place. It's right off a pretty busy road, and the steady drone of highway traffic is ever-present. It's convenient, but it's not rural by any means.
