The sites are large and allow for privacy and the use of canopies and other outside gear. Close to numerous Colorado attractions including Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, The Royal Gorge, etc. laundry and restrooms clean. Lots of wildlife and places in the RV park to walk. Couple of issues -road noise M-F from 7:00-4:00 as large trucks haul gravel from the quarry to town. The 2 lane road runs on the whole side of the resort. AND, we reached out to the advertised Colorado RV services to get some work done on our RV. They came by 2 times to meet with us but never gave us an estimate or touched base to schedule the work. We followed up numerous times. Our initial conversation was 7 weeks prior to our scheduled departure. This left a very bad taste in our mouths. Very bad customer service and follow up. We traveled in a 36 foot, class A.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with how clean and well-maintained the campground was. Our site was spacious and had full hookups, and the campground offers a nice variety of amenities, including hiking trails, a visitor center, showers, laundry facilities, and even a game room. The setting is one of the best things about this campground. We were tucked right at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain and had a beautiful view of the city from our site. We also had several visits from mule deer during our stay, which was a fun bonus. And then there was my first-ever sighting of a scorpion! I wasn't necessarily hoping for that particular wildlife encounter, but it certainly made for a memorable camping experience. We enjoyed exploring the hiking trails, and I appreciated that the campground clearly identifies which trails are dog-friendly. Some trails allow dogs and others don't, but the information is clearly shown on the trail map and on the trail signage, so there was no guesswork involved. There is one thing I wish we had known before arriving. If you're visiting from out of state, there is an additional Colorado State Parks pass fee on top of your camping fee, ranging from $10-$17 per day. We weren't expecting that extra charge, so a little more communication about the pass requirement during the reservation process would have been helpful. We made our reservations many months ago, and from what I understand the park pass fee took effect in May of this year, so that might have been the issue. A "heads-up" email from the Parks system would have been appreciated. We also didn't realize that an annual Colorado State Parks pass was an option. Since we had another six-night reservation at a different Colorado State Park during our trip, purchasing the annual pass would have saved us money. That's definitely something I would recommend checking into if you're planning to visit multiple state parks. Overall, we had a wonderful five-night stay. The clean campground, spacious sites, great amenities, beautiful mountain setting, wildlife, and convenient hiking trails made this a favorite stop on our Colorado trip. We would definitely stay here again!

The facilities were so clean and well maintained. Since we had these spots all day, we had a hike in the morning for people attending the wedding as well as the actual wedding in the evening. Most of our guests explored the facilities and hiked most of the morning. I know many of them will return soon because it was great. The amphitheater had electrical connection on the center circle. We didn't need it because the acoustics of the amphitheater were amazing. We had a harpist and the music carried beautifully. Their voices were clearly heard throughout the amphitheater. Our rainy day plan was the pavillion, which is lovely and amazingly well planned. This is a gorgeous place for a wedding. I can't believe I didn't mention the staff. They were so communicative and helpful. They were such a joy.

The whole website talks about the park 1/2 a mile away... that should have been a red flag. Rec room thing is a slab with a roof with 1 full wall and 2 1/2 walls unfinished overlooking a field. I guess it's more of a shade structure. Overall a step above staying in a Walmart parking lot.

My name is Barbara Wood and I came with my daughter who grew up in this town, who I raised in this town to camp. To seek refuge from a very bad situation. But they refused us. We came to say we were coming to tent camp for a month, they said fine. But then when they misplaced their own paperwork, they claimed we didnt pay for the 1st 2 nights and we paid cash. So, theres that. They never gave us a receipt and, God forbid, I'd ask for one. I guess I ASSUMED they were good hearted and honest. THEYRE NOT. SOOOOOOO, The people who actually built this place aren't allowed to.p stay in it anymore. Talk about discrimination and prejudice to THE fullest!! What an extremely sad sad disappointing experience. However, overall, they're rude, biased and overcharge. Go somewhere else. It's a pit stop, not a recreational camp. No one here, I mean, no one, not even the other campers are friendly. It sucks!!! He had three leashes and three very large dogs, and when I ran around the camper to find what the commotion was, I found him standing with his three big dogs who were attacking my 9-pound Havapoo. Her entire leg is bruised. I learned my lesson. Never assumed that people will control their dogs. This man shouted at me with the F word while he stood and watched his three large-breed dogs attack my little dog. Nobody should take three dogs on a leash if they are not capable of keeping the dogs from doing harm. Never again will I make that mistake. Lucy will stay in the truck during set up. I'll never stay there again.

Somone here was fostering our cat and our cat got out and is loose in the park and management has…read morebeen less than helpful as we tryed to come in the evening to look for her when our cat would be out and about And we even saw her and tryed to grab her but the manager and her friend were yelling at us from behind and we were very shaken and she bolted as we ran twords her then manager of the park her friend along with a few residents mobbed on us screaming for us to get off property because we didn't come get permission during the day at the office they made fun of me saying I should have taken better care of my cat and telling me to go back to my tent that becoming homless was our own fault. we aren't homless anymore but we were which is why we needed to have somone foster our cat its a really sore spot and we did our best the Managment and residents that ganged up on us were very cruel. the owners and managment are refusing to help and have ban us from the property telling us we have no legal claim to our cat and that she is now feral but were not giving up and we have pictures of her since she was a kitten and vet records to prove she's our cat and she's chipped. We filed a replevin against the owner of the park yong h lee because she and the manager brandy wade kept us from recovering our cat while we were 100% sure she was there. They would rather an innocent animal be left a stray to survive on her own and possibly die than let us come search in the evening for a weekwhen this first happened and have recovered her and been on our way. The replevin isnt going well we need proof she's still there. Its been 2 months and we are pretty she still there because lost cats are usually found within 50m of the spot they were lost. 500$ reward for her safe return she's a small slender medium hair gray tabby we love her and miss her very much. 50$ for photos of her still in the park if you cant catch her. Oh and she's not spayed so she's either about to have kittens or had just had them. We love her very much and just want to bring her home safe she's a part of our family we will not give up.
