On 7.25.24 I brought my watch to have the battery replaced. The rep said it was serviceable and would take 5 mins. When I returned the rep said while they were replacing the battery the dial had broken when adjusting the time due to "rust" and they were not liable for any repair. I asked to speak with a manager which they stated I was currently speaking with one. This is unacceptable because the watch was in great condition before I let them replace the battery. read more

Totally incompetent and terrible customer service. My wife took my watch to Dakota Watch Company in Kenwood Mall, Cincinnati, to have the battery replaced, which they did. When I looked at the watch one of the four screws that hold the back cover in place was missing making it non-waterproof. She is confident that all the screws were in place when they gave the watch back to her. We found a screw in the bottom of her bag, but it was the wrong size (too small) and had obviously fallen out. I can only assume that they lost one of the original screws when changing the battery and put the wrong replacement screw in place to cover up the problem. When I went back to discuss how to resolve the issue, the assistant (James) looked for the correct size screw but did not have one. He said that they could not take responsibility because the watch had not been in their possession all the time, in effect accusing me of removing the screw and putting in a new screw of the wrong size. He was totally unapologetic and just gave me the phone number of customer service. It is impossible to get through to a person at this number, and they do not return voice messages. I do not know how to move forward to resolve the issue and certainly do not recommend using the Dakota Watch Company to work on watches read more

I was missing the Tick Tock on my watches, because the batteries stopped. Three watch batteries, to be exact. A very expensive jeweler upstairs was unable to assist, and informed us it would be $120 per watch to send them out for service (uh, no, crack-smoker). Thank goodness for the little kiosk and the blue-haired gentleman. Dakota had zero issue with battery replacement; quick and easy, and handled with care. Excellent service, with a smile, and 20 minutes later, we were on our way for about $50 total! read more

I had a really good experience with this company and was very pleased with the way they conducted business. I just got back from college and the last item on my list of errands was to fix the broken minute hand on my Fossil watch (about 3 years old) and to replace the battery for a Timex Weekender that I've had for a couple years. I thought fixing the minute hand was going to be really expensive but Steve at the kiosk said it would only be $10 and would take about 10 minutes. I won't lie I was kinda worried with it being a kiosk at the mall and whatnot but I was very pleased by the quality of his work and knowledge of the watch. The Fossil was fixed perfectly and running like new. I got the Weekender back with a new battery for $17 which I deem as very fair considering it covers the battery, the work to put it in, and a one year warranty. Better deal than anything I would know how to do alone. As I paid and was about to leave I totally forgot to ask the man if he could swap out the buckles on my fossil watch for an older one I had and he said no problem and did it free of charge. Sorry for the long review but I firmly believe that this company deserves a much higher rating considering most people only give reviews if they have a bad experience. I was exhausted from all my errands I had to do but Steve and the associates of the Dakota Watch company were excellent and made it a very pleasant and pain free experience. I took 3 watches to have batteries replaced. They replaced 2 and when they brought the 3rd watch back, it was missing the crown and stem... They lost the crown in their kiosk, and told me there's nothing they can do. They even tried to claim I brought my watch in WITHOUT the crown. Give me a break. read more

Horrible experience. Dawn (the person to change the batteries) scratched both of my watches to a degree that you think she was trying to drill a hole in them on the back. She then said it is part of the process that they scratch the back!. Furthermore, she couldn't open the back of one of the watches and gave it back to me so I take it home with very bad scratches on the back and not working. My watches are like new and now I have no watches because of this person. The manager was not there and all I could do is to fill a claim and have them send the watches for repair. This will take 2 months at least. I'm not sure anybody can repair this damage but it looks like it is their way to handling their big mistakes. I will not settle for less than 2 new watches of the same models. She even put her finger prints on the inside of one watch (see through watch) and had to reopen it again after I told her that the finger prints are on the inside. Very disappointed, very frustrated, think about this happening to you Dakota customer service members and tell me what you would do. I hope this gets resolved quickly. Spare yourself the time and money and don't even consider going there. read more

After an incredibly overpriced battery change, I noticed the employee using a metal spudger (prying tool) on the metal back of my watch. This caused scratches that the employee could not or would not buff out. This is a mall kiosk of the lowest variety and would never trust them with the most remedial of tasks. read more

I paid $17 to replace the battery in my Seiko titanium watch in Kenwood mall location and they bend the bracelet link in the process. I noticed that the bracelet was loose right away and asked them to repair the bracelet to the condition I gave it to them. They tried to fix it unsuccessfully and then flat out said I gave them the watch with bracelet already damaged! What a joke of a company, avoid them at all costs!!! read more

Incredibly fast, inexpensive service with knowledgeable people. I asked if they recommend I replace my Casio watch battery (2.5 years old) while it was being repaired for a broken pin. The employee said that Casio batteries can last much longer and that I shouldn't worry about it. He could have easily used it as an opportunity to make more money, but chose to give me honest advice instead. Highly recommend! read more
