What I asked for vs. what I got. The dog in the picture is my dog too.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PUP HERE!!! I didn't want to leave any stars. They get zero from me. I brought my dog in to this hell hole yesterday. I was overly trusting because my regular grooming girl wasn't sure she was available this weekend. Out of desperation I found this place, reviews were decent but I won't even be believing those anymore. I spoke with Dale she said I could bring in my pup. I should've known when I got there, there were at least 10 other dogs there and there's no way you can deliver quality service with that many dogs. Typically when Lennox gets groomed he's by himself with the groomer and takes about and hour to an hour and a half. My puppy isn't even one yet he will be in a few days which is why he needed his hair cut. He recently had neutering surgery so he went longer than usual and his hair was a tad bit tangled around the neck which I communicated from the cone and collar for an extended period. The guy mentioned we may have to go shorter but never said shaving him. I showed them the picture of a teddy bear cut my pup has had previously that I wanted to maintain and continue with. I get there to pick up my dog and he is unrecognizable. All of his hair is shaved off and patches of his skin are showing. I'm literally quiet bc I'm just in disbelief. That can't be my dog. He also looked like he wasn't treated nicely. He has been licking himself nonstop probably itchy and acts a little weird when I try to pet him. I reached out via text and she took no accountability, blamed me for having to shave my dog. Never communicated that she would be doing this. This is the ugliest hair cut he's ever had. He looks like a skinny, malnourished, rat. She tried blaming me as if I don't know how to care for my dog. But it appears she doesn't know how to do a basic teddy bear cut. Look at his face after leaving her establishment. She got the wrong dog Mom to play with. She claims 40 years of experience, but this is not quality dog grooming. Please do not bring your dog to these people.

My two dogs Alex and Pablo after being groomed.

Dale and her other groomers are great! They groom my two Norwich terriers Alex and Pablo. They have a wiry double coat that is hard to groom. They need to be hand stripped which is time consuming. Dale and her team are also extremely friendly and hilarious. They are like one big family.

I would encourage people to not be deterred by any negative reviews of this business and give them a chance and formulate your own opinion. An error did occur in one of our visits, but I won't go into detail because I think what's more important is not what error it was that occurred, but rather the incredible efforts made in response by the business to rectify the issue. Our concerns were listened to and the response was respectful. The owner not only heard our concerns but they were able to show they can be objective in their assessment of the issue. They went above and beyond to make it right. The solutions offered were both incredibly generous and fair. In terms of the quality of the grooming, they made our fur babies look like pristine angels. They smell fantastic too, and their hair looked amazingly glossy and soft. They appear to do great with grooming both small and large dogs (we have both), and they even did great work on our big boy who has hair that's more difficult to work with. In resolving the issue with one of our pups, they blended things perfectly to make the original issue appear more natural and less jarring. The staff there seem to love what they do, have patience, and take pride in their work. They have great humor as well. We will be happy to take our fur babies there again.

When booking online, the system prompts you to enter your card information immediately after selecting an appointment. Typically, this step indicates that a deposit will be processed, but that wasn't clearly communicated at the time of booking. When a team member later called to confirm my appointment, I mentioned that I had already entered my card information during the booking process. There was no follow-up from the team to clarify whether the deposit had been received, and since no additional communication was sent, I reasonably assumed everything was confirmed. However, I received a text message at 5:40 p.m. on 10/10/25 -- about 20 minutes before closing -- stating that my appointment scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on 10/11/25 had been canceled. I immediately called and texted but didn't receive a response until the next morning when the business reopened, at which point the appointment was already canceled. Given that appointments here are often booked weeks, if not months, in advance, it's extremely difficult to pivot or make alternate arrangements on such short notice. The lack of follow-up and the last-minute cancellation were disappointing, especially considering the time and planning it takes to secure a spot. I'm sharing this feedback constructively, as I understand things happen, but clearer communication and more proactive customer service would go a long way toward improving the overall experience.

In the past, they've only used our leash to bring them back and forth to the front and not during grooming. However, today they decided to use our leash during the grooming process and he bit through it. I then verified that my warning about the leash was never communicated to the staff. The owner was then called and they stated, "nothing can be done." One of the employees could tell I was frustrated and then offered one of their grooming leashes which is for a small dog and would not be appropriate for our 90 pound GSD. I just thought it was interesting that "nothing could be done" for a customer that has been going there for years and has used both their boarding and grooming services without any prior issues, has referred plenty of customers to their business, and made sure to warn them prior to the appointment but the staff failed to pass the message along.

Mojo JoJo paused to reflect, "But why were you so foolish to write your name on the door?" Mojo JoJo reached for the door handle. "Drat! I don't have an appointment, and an appointment I needed!" He glanced at his notes, before calling one of his humans whom he brainwashed with a head of Anubis statue, empowered by rubies he had also procured, to make the call on his behalf. With his appointment having been placed, he waited the requisite amount of time, hiding poorly behind a fence, until he could be "right on time" and knock. "And where are Blossom and Buttercup, your Yorkies?" one of the kind employees asked. Mojo JoJo grinned malevolently. The human he had transformed into a dog had remembered the names of his other two archenemies. "I knew it! She was foolish enough to write her name on the facade. Unwise even, I say." He then looked inside and begged their pardon for a moment as he turned to one of the dogs who had just luxuriated in a warm bath with, much to his chagrin, no longer extant bubbles. "Where is Bubbles? I am losing my patience! My patience is ebbing! One might even say waning!" At that point, several of Barks 'N Bubbles's canine clients began to bark in wonder at the oddly-dressed and Machiavellian-sounding chimpanzee; and Mojo JoJo lowered his head and realized he had been had. He saw how happy the dogs looked, dressed in their Halloween-themed bandanas, and how excited they were to be safely reunited with their owners and to be encouraged to pick out a squeaky Halloween-themed toy, and he paused magnanimously. "May I make an appointment for myself? An appointment I would very much like to make!" The Powerpuff girls would have to wait, and so too would the city of Townsville!

He has used every department of Rocky Gorge - boarding, veterinary care, traveling papers, er, grooming... I've always felt Rocky Gorge was a nice place, and appreciated the care, diligence, and gentleness that Dr Farnam demonstrated on many vet visits across the years. *** EDIT: I have revised the rating to reflect the overall service provided by Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital across the years Mr Monster has been a client there. The only time I had a problem was with that ER doctor, and my inability to speak with anyone following the ER visit. *** Recently Monster's health has taken a turn for the worse. He is in great discomfort, and has stopped eating. I took him to the ER and saw Dr Bricker, who was amazing. Thorough, patient, informative, and as effective as possible, given the situation (Monster is an elderly cat with complex health issues, making diagnosis difficult). He provided a week of medications, with instructions to come back the following week for blood work, and call regarding changes. This included pain killers, which are key for keeping Monster feeling OK. Well, Mr Monster seemed to do well, and stated eating. Then he stopped. Suddenly hated the smell of his own food. Ran downstairs when and hid I tried to give him breakfast. Last night, I brought him in (6 days after prior visit). Hoping to see Dr Bricker again on the overnight shift. But it was a different doctor, a black doctor whose name I can't remember. She ran the blood work, then said that she could recommend two options: Taking Monster to another hospital that can provide cat blood transfusion, IV, and ultrasound to inspect his organs, which were swollen. This visit would cost $3000-5000, payed up front. The other option was giving him steroids, she said. She reasoned that he could potentially benefit from them because his white blood cell count was disturbingly high, a clear sign of a problem that might be inflammation. However, she said the steroids could cause great harm, and it would be a gamble. SHE DID NOT MENTION NOR OFFER PALLIATIVE CARE. Presented with this false dilemma, and not wanting to gamble with my beloved pet's well-being, I opted to try to find the money for the hospital admission. But I couldn't find it at 2:30 AM. So I told the Dr I'd need time to find the money. I pointed out that Mr Monster was done with his pain medication which was prescribed by Dr Bricker. Only after I directly asked her to provide him pain medication did she agree to give him a shot. This was a cat who had been on heavy pain medication a week, whose conditioned worsened! Upon getting home and discussing the situation with my husband, as well as researching potential diagnoses given his symptom, we came to believe (based on his symptoms) that our beloved Mr Monster was most likely facing a serious health problem, and the ultrasound would likely show something like lymphoma, something horrible. Which meant he has very low survival options. So he could go through all these tests only to find he needed treatment which was too painful and hard on the body for him to endure after literally STARVING for a week. We came to believe palliative care was the responsible and kind solution. But here's the problem. We don't want his last hours to be at Rocky Gorge animal hospital. I want to schedule it at home. I have asked Rocky Gorge to please call me to discuss whether palliative care is possible. It's been 6 hours. They haven't called back. He has no backup painkiller. He is due fro another dose. My heart is breaking because my baby is in pain. All I want is to make him comfortable! I AM HORRIFIED THE ER DOC FAILED TO OFFER PALLIATIVE CARE AS AN OPTION. I AM HORRIFIED SHE IGNORED HIS PAIN. I AM HORRIFIED THE ONLY CHOICE I WAS GIVEN WAS $3000-5000 DIAGNOSTICS OR A SHOT OF STEROIDS. My poor baby deserves comfort. He hasn't been eating for over a week, except tiny bites here and there. He is in great pain from his organs, which are swollen. He is anemic. His white blood cell count is high. ROCKY GORGE IS FAILING MR MONSTER IN HIS GREATEST TIME OF NEED AFTER 15 YEARS AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER. Edit continued: I took Mr Monster to the ER a third time, and spoke with Dr Weller. She was much more sympathetic and helpful. She understood the need for palliative care, and said that if Mr Monster were her cat, she would not put him through the painful and frightening hospital stay. He was elderly, and not in good health. Quality of life is important. It helped me a LOT to hear a vet say they agreed with palliative care and ultimately euthanasia. We discussed the signals to watch for to end it. Dr Weller gave us the pain meds needed to keep Monster comfortable until he was euthanized at home. I appreciated her assistance. He showed some neurological symptoms in the end, which I read suggests either stage V lymphoma, or stage IV renal lymphoma.

Every booking, every pet, every time: more signatures and "agreements" than a mortgage closing. Somewhere there's a lawyer who's never met a dog and decided the real threat to this business is the guy who's paid them loyally for three years. You carefully fill out the entire grooming form online, pick every option -- then show up and they shove a paper copy across the counter to sign the exact same thing again. And after all that paperwork, they still claim they don't have the phone number they've had on file for three years and called me on before. Let's put this in perspective. I can order dinner to my door in two taps -- Reorder, Apple Pay, done. A stranger drives hot food across town on the strength of my thumbprint. But dropping off dogs these people have known for three years apparently requires a signing ceremony and a fresh liability waiver every single visit. In 2026, that's not caution. That's a business that's forgotten how to trust its own customers. And then there's the membership -- the crown jewel of contempt. They took a system that worked and actively torched it. Gone are the daycare credit packs: fair, flexible, buy-what-you-need, the way a business treats people it respects. In their place, a pricier monthly "membership" that auto-drafts your card whether your dog walks through the door or not, with no rollover for the days you paid for and never used. Read that again: you pay, they keep it, your dog gets nothing, and they call it a perk. It's not a membership -- it's a standing withdrawal from your bank account with a bow on it. It punishes the exact people who kept this place in business: the regulars whose lives don't run on a fixed weekly schedule. Some months my dogs come once, some months five times, because that's how actual life works -- and this program is built to make sure I lose either way. It doesn't serve pets. It doesn't serve owners. It serves a spreadsheet, and it treats every loyal customer as a recurring charge to be maximized rather than a person to be valued. It is, top to bottom, the most openly hostile "loyalty" scheme I've ever been asked to fund. When customers spend more time signing forms and fighting your billing than petting their dogs, you're not a pet resort -- you're a law firm with a kennel attached. Take your pets somewhere that still remembers what the word "customer" means.
