I wanted to wait to write this until after a while, to see if Dale indeed fixed the problem we were having with our car and I'm happy to report that after almost two months, we have not had the problem repeat itself. We were having problems with our 2002 Chevy Avalanche starting. We had the battery cable replaced and another part was replaced, but clearly they didn't do the trick. The problem kept happening again. After searching high and low and talking to friends and neighbors, no one could really steer us the right direction. I thought it was the passkey security system, which was the bane of many GM vehicles of those model years, and read all I could about it. We weren't sure what it was, but we thought it was the security system. I even made an appointment with the Chevy dealer. I really didn't want to take it there. One more search through Yelp produced Dale Wahl. Dale spent several hours diagnosing the problem. He really took his time and found out that the ignition switch and cylinder lock needed to be changed. It was just rust, corrosion, and wear and tear; after all, it is a 21 year old car. It was really the fact that he took his time determining what the problem was. If we did indeed take it to the dealer, I guarantee they wouldn't have spent the amount of time diagnosing it Dale did. And not once, in the almost two months, did the car not start. It started like a champ every time it was driven, including today. Thank you fellow Yelpers and thank you, Dale! I have a 23 year old Audi that I figured needed a new power steering pump. Rather than find a mechanic and have it towed I got in touch with Dale Wahl, the Mobile Mechanic. First he came out to diagnose the problem. He confirmed the need for a new power steering pump and gave the rack and pinion assembly a clean bill of health. The first time he came out to replace the pump, the replacement was no good. Audi doesn't make them anymore and the rebuilt one didn't work. He just came by today with a new pump. Steering is fine now. Dale clearly knows his stuff, has fair prices, shows up on time and cleans up afterward. He's my new mechanic as long as the Audi holds up. read more
