Squid Ink with Calamari, scallops dish

Came in with a girlfriend a few weeks ago for a nice diner. The place is pretty cool, has a nice atmosphere with really friendly staff. It took a while to be served but we didn't mind having a slower dinner. We got the alcohol free sangria and I was very pleasantly surprised as how similar it tasted rather than like straight juice. We had the squid ink dish which we weren't expecting to be calamari. Not my personal favorite dish but nothing bad about it. Then we had the scallops which I found to be pretty good, the flavoring could have been a bit stronger. The most interesting dish was the blackberry duck. Something about it confused my Brian but would definitely say it's a dish you need to try. My favorite thing we had was the lemon custard for dessert. Very large size, plenty for a group of 3 or less.

The atmosphere is fun and busy and the decoration is eclectic. Our server was very welcoming and taught us how to pronounce the Spanish dish names. Our food came out relatively quickly but water refills were slow. Overall I had a great time and would come back again for special occasions El Passion - fruity with a sour punch Arroz Negro con Calamares - the black rice slightly tomato's and very tasty. The calamari on top was crispy. Your lips will turn black Mejillones en Crema de Camarones - the mussels were skinny and the shrimp sauce was the star of the show. It came with garlic bread for dipping but the sauce was also great on rice. Pato Braseado - The duck cooked perfectly and the acid from the berry sauce cuts the richness of the meat Conejo Estofado - sauce was sweet with a slight kick. Paired well with the tender rabbit Valenciana Paella - very lightly flavored rice. I enjoyed the variety of seafood and meat in the paella. Clementine flan - flan is silky smooth and not overly sweet, the candied fruit was a slightly bitter accent. Churros - came out piping hot with dulce de leche and chocolate syrup.

Another great meal at Dali. Tried the mussels in creamy sauce for the first time here- it's delicious. Creamy artichoke and mushrooms were quite rich. Gambas in garlic sauce, beef short ribs, calamari and squid ink rice, and seafood paella are all favorites here. The tenderloin empanadas were amazing, and I liked the accompanying dipping sauce. We asked for extra toast because it's the perfect complement to all the flavorful sauces - crispy outer layer, soft interior, warm. Great cappuccino to end the meal.

What a lovely Spanish tapas restaurant with an unassuming exterior. I've walked by a few times before, but being inside really transports you into its own world with dimly lit ambiance and thoughtfully themed decor. The portion sizes were expected for tapas (small plates) and every dish we got was unique in flavors and delicious. For us, the standout was the braised duck leg. What an incredible mix of sweet and sour flavors of the sauce combined with the savory flavors and crispy yet juicy textures of the duck. Our server was attentive in filling up our waters and recommended the right number of dishes for us to have a filling but not overstuffed dinner. I would definitely come back for another delicious meal with friends, family, or for a date night.

Food: In general, good for the most part. There were some tapas dishes I liked more than others. The drinks were good though, my espresso martini was 11/10. It's tapas style, so you can order a lot of small dishes to try. The paella was ok. Service: Our server, Moi, was fabulous. Super attentive and personal. Our food was also pretty fast. Ambiance: It's dark inside, and gets very busy (they tell you to leave as soon as your reservation time is over). The main drawback for me was that there were only 2 bathrooms. The door from front was also confusing. But it was fun going to my friend's birthday here!

Aguacate con Ceviche

Amazing food! My first time trying the concept of tapas (well not really but more like my first time trying many plates of tapas at once) My review of some of the things I had from here: 1) Ceviche was amazing and the presentation of it was beautiful. The juice to seafood ratio was adequate so that's always good (usually I don't see a lot of seafood in ceviche at other places. 2) Scallops were good but I think the sauce that it was served in helped. 3) I can't recall the name, but it was a sizzling shrimp dish served in a cast iron type skillet. Honestly, I wasn't a super fan. It has a very smoky flavor and it's just basic salad shrimp, not even prawns. 4) calamari with squid ink rice- I was very impressed with the squid ink rice. I don't have much to say about the calamari itself since it tastes comparable to other places. I definitely like the ambience here and would come back if there is a birthday party (oh yeah, and speaking of , you'll be hearing the waiters sing happy birthday every five minutes for someone. So just a fair warning if that annoys you (it kinda did for me lol)

I really enjoyed looking at the various decorations in the restaurant! The decor, combined with the ambient lighting, and occasional loud birthday celebrations, made for a fun dinner experience. Two of us decided to order a variety of tapas (mostly hot) from the menu. I was not expecting a lot of the dishes to have a sweet undertone to them. We started with the jamón ibérico ($24) which came with a few pieces of crusty focaccia soaked in oil. The fat from both the ham and the oil was very rich. We got the alcachofas rellenas ($15), bolitas de queso ($12), pulpo a'feira ($19), gorditas ($10), and chuletillas de cordero ($15). All of the dishes were decent, but I wouldn't say any of them particularly stood out to me. The alcachofas rellenas tasted just like a baked artichoke dip (delicious, but nothing special). I liked the bolitas de queso but the caramelized onion and honey ended up making the dish too sweet for my liking. The chuletillas de cordero had a similar vibe for me-- the lamb chops had a nice char, but the peach sauce was unexpectedly sweet. If you prefer your dishes to be more savory than sweet, I would not recommend the bolitas de queso, gorditas, or chuletillas de cordero. After we received all of our dishes, we realized that we could still eat so we tried the plato mixto ($25). It came with a huge variety of cheeses and meats which were fun to pair together. Overall the food was good and I enjoyed the vibes as well.

An incredible 5 stars all around! What a delightful discovery during our time in Boston. The from tasty food to epic cocktails to enthusiastic service to ridiculously awesome atmosphere... the was hands down an excellent choice for us tonight, and we'll definitely return when in town again

Loved our time at Dali!! We had a reservation for a friends birthday (were only able to snag one because of a cancellation). Thank you to our server for the best experience (it's been a while and I forgot his name I'm so sorry )! He was so kind and fun and made our experience 10x better. I loved all the tapas but if I were to recommend a must try it would be the shrimp and beef toast!! Also of course the sangria! Great spot for a date night to drink at the bar or for a girls night to yap. Definitely would love to come back again!

Favorite restaurant in Cambridge / Boston so far! The food was all amazing. The beef with chimichurri and the vegetable paella were my personal favorites. The beef was super tender and flavorful and the paella had an incredible mix of veggies. As a seafood lover, I was surprised I enjoyed the vegetable paella even more than the seafood one! Service was fantastic and the decor is fun and cozy.

This place has amazing vibe on weekend dinner time with many laughter, happy crowds that celebrate, birthdays and special occasions, a variety of cocktails, and wine. Here are several dishes that I recommend : - croqueta - steak with chimichurri - Batatas bravas Here are several dishes that I do NOT recommend : - Cheese and charcuterie board: really disappointed by such a small portion for a high price. Personally, don't think it's worth it. - braised duck leg: meat was dry (moisture was significantly lost during the cooking) and the dressing was too sweet This place is not cheap. Again, vibe and service were amazing and I will recommend you come here for occasion if you are in the mood (I don't think it's easy to find a similar vibe like Dali in Cambridge). But some dishes might not be worthy of its price

The ambiance was too loud. I could barely hear my wife speak across from me. The restaurant was beautiful and unique with its Latin inspired decor/paintings. The food was actually really good. My only complaint is towards the older male barista that was imposing/rude to me upon my arrival.

bolitas de queso. incredible balls of cheese with this sweet and oniony accompaniment

Good place for kids, 6yr and up? Wanted to take my family here and have seen kids in the past and sure kids are welcomed ... but wanted some feedback either way?

Great place for kids. Lots to look at. Some of the sauces have very strong flavors. Not picante, but a few dishes have a lot of raw garlic. But otherwise: yes yes yes. My daughter loved it from the time she was 2 and my nephew asked his grandparents… Read more

Even if you don't end up liking the dish, the tapas size is small so you're not losing too much. And most importantly, most of the dishes I tried had garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil as the predominant flavor profile. The perfect seasoning profile for a non-adventurous eater! For the more adventurous eaters, I'd highly recommend sampling from their charcuterie and cheese selection. I enjoyed trying different combinations of cheese and meat with the bread to see which flavor profile was my favorite (also a good activity for Remy's friend from Ratatouille). As other reviewers mentioned, you can try a lot of dishes but the tables aren't that big so you have to be a little bit strategic if you want to dip the bread in the leftover sauces.

All street parking and we had to circle around to find a spot so plan ahead. We got a red wine and the flawless victory cocktail. I got to try a couple wines before committing to a glass. My partner loved his cocktail. Super well balanced and really unique combo of flavors. Both drinks paired well with all our food too. Zucchini pancakes (2/5) - the only miss. The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender. The flavors were rich in flavor. Yellow split pea was a nice creamy base. Revani snack cake (5/5) - we almost didn't get dessert but glad we did! It a citrus pound cake with a pineapple glaze and a spiced macadamia crunchy topping. Served chilled. Very yummy and not too heavy. Overall very happy we tried this place. Little Donkey is definitely more of a "let's order a few things, chat for a while, and try bites…read morehere and there" kind of spot than a place you go to when you're starving. I've been extra hungry lately, so fair warning: if you have a big appetite and care a lot about portion-to-price value, this may not fully hit the spot. First things first: no bread. Not a complaint, just important information as I discover which spots in Boston are part of the bread movement. We started with the salmon crudo. I somehow thought it came with the burnt crispy rice, but that was my mistake - it's actually four small slices of salmon. That said, it was really flavorful and tasty. Next was the arancini: three pieces plus a pepper to share. Super good if you're into cheese. Crispy outside, cheesy inside, cooked well, no complaints there. Then the burger, which came split into two. Honestly, yummy burger. Simple. Solid. Probably the most filling thing we ordered, especially alongside the beer, which I was genuinely grateful for because it helped balance out the tiny portions situation. Dessert was the cookie dough. Exactly what you'd expect: cookie dough served on a mixer ladle with cream on the side. I didn't care much for the cream, but the cookie dough itself was good in a very straightforward way. If you like cookie dough, you'll like it. Overall, I'd say it's a good spot if you want to taste and try different things in a fun atmosphere. But if you're someone with a serious appetite who's looking for generous portions and strong value for size, there are probably other spots I'd pick first. Food came out fast and with the serving sizes and the speed of eating, was done with the meal in less than an hour - should've chewed slower lol

I feel like a lot of my reviews these days are post-mortems…read more.. Sad to see this place close recently, but I saw the warning signs. I've mainly visited here mid-week. While I know mid-week is a slow period, but it can't be dead. Every occasion I've visited, you might see a couple of people at the bar but the tables are all empty. Which is sad because... The food was pretty solid and affordable. The tapas fare is pretty conventional, which can be good. The croquettes were crispy enough and flavorful. The lamb chops were also flavorful, while being tender and not over-seared. The patatas bravas were hot and crispy. The paella for two, at a decent $35 price, had a good amount of rice and seafood. The seafood might've been a little overcooked but it's hard to time it. The churros made for a nice ending, with a lovely chocolate dipping sauce. They had vegan tapas options, which was good for some in my party. However, the menu was a bit too extensive. They had menu options from seemingly all places and that does not make life easy for BOH. Service was generally okay, but seemingly stretched. Even though there weren't many customers in mid-week, staff appeared to have a variety of tasks. So sometimes we weren't checked on for long stretches. The spot was a former bar, so it had that bar atmosphere. It's located in a decent area, so I hope something good rises out of the ashes.

From a quick…read morecompare of the menu here versus the menu for Barcelona Wine Bar, the prices are about the same or cheaper, especially for the seafood paella for two ($35 at Olespana, which was a sizable portion, versus BWB's $56). Plus, Olespana has a parking lot in the back, as well as abundant metered options along Wells Avenue, which is always a plus in my book. Here were the dishes we ordered, ranked from favorite to least: 1. Patatas with garlic aioli - you cannot go wrong with the combo of basically french fries and mayo but definitely eat this as soon as it hits your table. Otherwise the fries turn mushy, doubly so from the sauce. If you're with a large group, definitely order two of these. 2. Seafood paella - I'm by no means a paella expert but I was impressed by the crunchy bits of rice on the bottom and how flavorful it was. A good amount of different seafood, including shrimp, mussels, clams, and squid, but I would've liked to see the shrimp a little less pink. 3. Garlic mushrooms - I'm a fiend for mushrooms and will order it any time I spot it on the menu, though I'm partial to when they either fry or sauté so the mushrooms get these nice crispy edges. These were a touch too heavy on the sauce, which was very acidic, but I finished pretty much the whole plate of it on my own. 4. Croquettas - Wasn't a fan of the mushy insides though my cousin loved them. 5. Beet salad - Eh. At this point, I should give up on ordering salads in restaurants when I can make them easily at home. The balsamic vinegar dressing was way too tart and I've decided I'm not a fan of oranges in salads. Overall, a fun eclectic spot to eat some tapas and drink whiskey. I got a kick out of how their menu has a section of tapas from other countries, including the USA - our featured options were wings and steak tips. That said, the menu is way too sprawling for its own good - tapas, burgers, pizza, and nachos? That might explain the inconsistency in the dishes we ordered.
