I have been going to Dallas BBQ since I was a teen. They had a location on 72nd Street near Central Park. Went opening day to this location. Parking was confusing. They need a sign telling you there is a lot around the corner. Now this place, sorry to say it was terrible. Waited 15 minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us. Ribs were nasty, shrimp were dry, and steak was beyond well done with a "medium rare" pin stuck in it. Aside from the food, the tables and chairs were uneven (brand new furniture) and that was annoying. First day, maybe growing pains?! But this location didn't impress at all. First of all the waiter i had was great, male hispanic. ( i say this because you will will enjoy him if you get him) He said welcome back but only having been there once before months ago if he truly remembered me then his talents are being wasted as a server. Unfortunately thats about it for the good things. The diet choices were not available due to a machine breakdown. Other restaurants i ve been too in the past send an employee out to buy bottled soda. By the way a sams club and walmart are 1/8 of a mile away. Ill come back to the drink situation later. I took lemonade. I ordered a garden salad ( with honey mustard dressing) the server repeated my order ( as excellent servers do) turkey chili bowl and corn bread. Lemonade came quickly. A woman brought out my order. A white salad dressing. I called after her twice she looked at me and kept on walking. I immediately got up walked to the kitchen so they had given me ranch eventually did get honey mustard so no big deal other than her rudeness. A salad is a salad . Its tough to mess up. The dressing was off maybe its a special house blend but it's taste was off. Regarding the chili and cornbread. They were palatable but nothing special. I believe I have made better cornbread. The chili was honestly just blah. So I asked for a refill on lemonade. When i received the bill, i saw i was charged for the refill. I asked the server if the diet coje had been working would i have gotten a free refill.He said they do not free refills. I was here once before although I cannot swear to it I remember getting a free refill. So either their policy changed or he lied to me. Or that is their policy. When he handed my cedit card back he said see you next time. I said, "there won't be a next time." These restaurants charge premium prices on their food i have eaten at carnegie deli. Buffalo wild wings, shake shack, the red robin( sadly its closed now) outback all within 300 feet of these guys. None charged me for refills ( shake shack has to fill up at counter they do it gladly) I said out loud, " this isnt new york" Nor are they. I will not go back. For starters my gf and I go to Dallas BBQ on a few occasions we decided to go the nearest to us which is the Secaucus location and we were very excited to go. When we got there the host sat us at a table and we waited, server came to us for our drinks very attentive at first next thing she asked if we needed more time for the food and sure enough we asked if we can have a bit more time to look over the menu. Come to find out she never came back to us to take our order we were in such shock as we were quite hungry and ended up waiting 15 minutes before we got very frustrated and had to call over the host. The host had got us a different server who was very apologetic and reminded us that everything will be smooth moving forward. She took our order and provided us with complimentary drinks and cakepops for dessert. The seating was great the ambiance was terrific when the bill came we paid and left the sticky wings we ordered were terrific and the drinks were great. When we had got home we saw that they charged us twice for an iced tea when we had only ordered one, so overall the experience was not good in the beginning but it went well eventually the food was good the drinks were good but I would still be on the fence of coming back to this location because of it. read more

I went to the new Dallas BBQ in Secaucus on Mother's Day with my mom and grandmother. We were told over the phone the wait would be about 45 minutes, but we ended up waiting over 2 hours. The main reason my grandmother chose this place was for the ribs -- only to be told after we were finally seated that they were completely out. No one from management made any announcements while we waited, which would've been the courteous thing to do considering ribs are one of their signature items. I understand it was both a grand opening and a holiday, but better preparation and communication could've saved a lot of frustration for guests. Sadly, it was a disappointing experience for what should have been a special day. I'm being generous with the rating. read more

That is so clueless... nobody said to the server why ?? Then the reason we came was the onion loaf, because we often went to BBQ in the city.. and just as clueless as clueless can be.. our main dish comes out, didn't even cut into the appetizer,, why would the server or the manager let this happen.. just bad experience for overpriced dinner food... This place was disappointing. Definitely not worth the hype. I ordered brisket sliders, Mac and cheese and a margarita. The sliders were horrible. I don't even know what type of meat it was. I was excited to try the new location here in Secaucus nj but the waiter sat me and my cousin at a table with a bunch of gnats flying around, I asked to be moved yet the waitress acted as tho it was an issue and so did the heavy set Spanish dude who I guess is one of the managers, wanted to seat us next to the table where we didn't wanna be smh so found us a table away from that one, then I noticed a few moments later the seated someone else at the same table with the gnats, didn't like that at all. I felt like waiter was trying to hard to get me to order a liquor drink when I was wasn't ready to order one, hint no one asked for an I.d either smh, halfway into eating my Hennessy wings he comes back asking if we'd like our check, first offf I'm nowhere done and eating and I did order a moscato mama that he forget about yet asking if we'd like our bill smh, after it was all said and done we retrieved to the bathroom and there are gnats in there too oh it was still some gnats flying around the new table they seated us at too, come out the rest room, our drinks are gone and people are sitting at our table smfh, I did not tip the rude waiter and I definitely won't be coming back, I'll stick to the original BBQ in NY, much better service and I don't have to deal with GNATS!!!
