Walked in with a bunch of friends as we anticipated going for weeks. As usual, I have Red in tow with me. We are rapidly seated and the waiter is nice. Looking around at the people eating we wait in eager anticipation after seeing the generous portion sizes. Our Buffalo cauliflower (and apps for friends) finally come out after waiting a bit of time. While I thought the cauliflower was just fine, Red found some of them a little tough. We both order the double beef ribs. Red gets baked potato with hers, and I get the fries. Again, both the (very tender) ribs and fries were generous in size, but the fries are cold and mushy. Not sure why I didn't complain then, but others at our table who receive fries get them cold and mushy. That is not all we get. After speaking with Red today, it turns out she vomited last night from the food and says the ribs came up. I had two bouts of the runs and felt off the rest of the night. The bills arrived and they auto add a gratuity to the bill for a party of 5+. My bill was $95.44 with tip included and I gladly handed over a $100 bill for the extra tip, as did everyone else at our table tip extra. I don't mind the mandatory tip as we always go in with the intention of tipping well for good food and service. But we do mind cold food and illness that follows. You milage may vary, but illness is not something we tolerate and give second chances. We won't ever be back. read more

I was craving the big pina colada drink and some bbq, so I made the trip here (I've only ever went to the one in NYC Times Square). I was expecting it to be busy on a Friday night, but I was pleasantly surprised. The space is pretty big, with a lot of lighting and no loud music. Our waiter was really nice. The restaurant is next to LA Fitness, and the parking deck is pretty close and convenient. I wanted to walk around after dinner, but this is not like an outside mall, so things aren't too close (and there's too much traffic). I ordered: - Crispy shrimp starter: very tasty, and a pretty big portion. It came with tartar sauce, but no cocktail sauce. - Tempura broccoli: this was surprisingly delicious. I love broccoli, so I don't know why it needs to be fried in general lol. But, the batter is not thick or overwhelming, and the broccoli is not raw or overcooked. It was pretty tasty (it doesn't come with any sauce, and you get a pretty big portion). - Super Smokehouse Combo: This was enough for too people (I shared with with my partner). My favorite was summer sausage, which was served over a piece of white bread. The pulled pork was tasty, and served over half of a bun. The brisket (my second favorite) was delicious and served over the other half of the bun. The ribs were saucy and fell off the bone. I should have ordered a small pina colada, but I got a medium - but no worries, I was able to get a to-go cup and take it with me! NOTE: I would have given this place 4 stars, but I was put off by the guy trying to sell us pictures. After we ordered, a random guy just came up to us wanting to take pictures without any context. Afterwards, he came to us with them printed out, but doesn't explain if they are free (obviously not) or how much he is charging. Next time I'll know to politely decline. read more

When we were seated the table was so wobbly we had to ask to move because a drink would have spilled on that table. We asked the server to move and we were able to move to a nearby table. Everything we ordered was incredibly greasy, fatty or way too sweet. I know it's a bbq spot but I honestly expected better. It's like they put zero thought into the menu items other than to add way too much sugar. I also didn't expect the butter and sour cream to be served in single serve plastic containers (a ramekin would have been nicer). The crispy chicken wings were flavorless- no seasoning at all and the sticky wings had a sauce that was basically just sugar-filled. The beef ribs were tasty but really fatty, and the baked potato was good but it was the smallest I've ever seen. The mac and cheese was like Krafts and I sent it back because it was pretty gross. They must just have a huge vat of it because it came out within 3 minutes of us ordering it- even before the entree which was weird and it was just warm- not even hot. The one saving grace aside from the ribs bumping this review from a two to a three was the service. Our server was so nice. He was very efficient and friendly and made the night a bit better with his great service! Forgot his name but my husband and I were seated in the outer area near the windows. He was a Latino young man wearing a tie. Thank you young man for making our night a bit better! Also for a Saturday night it was pretty empty. Don't plan to return any time soon. This was my first time visiting BBQ Dallas in Secaucus, New Jersey, and I must say the drinks, food, and service made it a great experience. Our drinks were Long Island Iced Tea Premier, and let me tell you -- they were Texas‑size and definitely left us happy. Worth every sip. One thing to be mindful of: my partner is allergic to mustard, and I didn't realize the pulled pork plate comes with two different sauces -- one side barbecue and the other honey mustard. So anyone with allergies should double‑check the sauces on the meats to avoid any issues. This place is definitely a must‑try at least once, just like I did -- and I'll be returning. I travel from place to place trying different spots, and this one stands out. It's unlike anything I've found in Virginia. Service was prompt. Food was prepared fresh and promptly: Henny Ribs - incredible sauce. I want to put it on everything. I like my ribs with a little pull, and these had just a bit more than I prefer, but they were still excellent. Moist and flavorful. Dallas Wings - crispy, moist, and flavorful. Not greasy. Batter was well-seasoned, each piece was cooked perfectly with nothing overdone, dry, or tough. Pulled pork sliders - my wife loved them. Flavorful, tender, and piled high. Henny Burger - I wished I had two of them. That says it all. The henny sauce is incredible. Burger was high quality and perfectly cooked. Bacon was delicious and an excellent addition. Not too crispy, not too soft. Perfect texture. The burger was HUGE. This may be my good-to from now on. Henny sauce was a great compliment to the other flavors. Family all raved about their food. One word to begin this review - FINALLY!!! It's been talked about for decades how Dallas BBQs should make its way across the bridge to Jersey. Secaucus came through! My verdict - I still prefer my favorite NYC locations. This spot made a good effort, though and I'll likely return out of convenience, probably. I went early afternoon on a weekday, there was no wait to be seated. However, the wait was annoying for parking. They share a SMALL parking lot with the LA fitness gym next door. Service was just okay - my server was not attentive but I noticed she was very active with parties of 2 or more. I was dining solo and it was very noticeable. Nevertheless, what I loved the most about this new location is that it's reminiscent of pre-pandemic menu prices. My sticky wings came to the table barely warm... like 45 seconds from being cold. Which was so odd to me. Also, my usual/favorite drink (the superman) was just average/watered down. One thing I noticed is they use regular, plastic straws. MUCH appreciated!! I am a bit surprised at all of the negative reviews. This is my first time going to any Dallas BBQ location and I was greatly surprised. First off, the parking is quite easy with plenty of parking nearby. Upon entering the space is huge with plenty of different seating options. The service was great throughout. We went a week or 2 after opening weekend to try out this location since we loved the New York one. It was pretty loud and packed inside. They don't take reservations so we had to wait in a short line for a table for 2 which wasn't bad, but it could be inconvenient if you have a bigger party. The henny wings and shrimp were fine. We ended up only ordering that because everything was taking a while. We ordered 2 Texas size drinks with extra shots, but the waitress actually gave us super Texas size with no shots which we could not finish. They were good, just sweet. We didn't realize until the bill came and we were charged $24 for each drink. We were also overcharged for someone else's bill because our server mixed up our credit cards (see pic). The appetizer buffalo cauliflower was good but some of the cauliflower was hard and I had to use a knife to cut it. My friend's french fries were cold and not crispy as well as his co-workers french fries were also cold and not crispy. My second cup of coffee was full of coffee grinds and not enjoyable. First off I've been going to Dallas BBQs for decades. It was always a special treat when in the city so when it finally opened in NJ, we were excited. Unfortunately it does not live up to the locations in NY. The food is subpar. Chicken was incredibly dry and unseasoned. Fries were soggy. Fried shrimp was not crispy. The food actually came out super quick but everything was pretty much room temp/not super hot. The Mac and cheese was so bad I'd rate it lower than boxed Kraft or Velveeta mac. The cornbread was SO dry. Our server seemed super uninterested in her job and didn't really care about anything. Will definitely not be back here. Came out to check of the NJ BBQs and it's a 1 and done for me. Walked in and got seated right away but the floor next to me was full of food. Nobody came to sweep up the floor until we sat down. Finally a waitress named Tanesha came over and was rushing to take our order which she seemed to be uninterested with the menu. We asked for water with lemon and she took about 15 min to bring the water. The actual drinks came out before the water which didn't have any lemons so her listening skills is not on par with a server. We decided to start with wings and a onion loaf and that took about 20 min to come out which I was very disappointed with both dishes. We asked for hot sauce and ranch dressing on the side and again Tanesha forgot to bring so we had to wait until she went back and got. The wings had no season at all (a 1st for BBQs) wings. The onion loaf wasn't done in the middle and didn't have any season on it either. Not the NY BBQs because I have never had a bad wing in NY so the Jersey version needs to go back to the drawing board and take some classes from NY. Tanesha the server needs a class in hospitality and my honest opinion should be fired because the table next to me questioned her about their bill and she made the statement to them that I quote "I'm not in your guys pockets to know what you can afford". They asked for the manager and she came over and tried to explain Tanesha actions but in my opinion it was unacceptable for her to talk to guests like that. We decided that the service and the food was not good so we didn't order a meal. Just paid the bill and got out of there. Honestly they should have did a soft opening to work out the kinks with the staff because I will go to NY to the BBQs either on 23rd or uptown. Way better food and service. I don't recommend going to BBQs in Secaucus until they get better service and hire a new chef. I will spend the $9 congestion pricing before I come back to this location. If you're looking for barbecue, don't come here. Its relationship to actual Texas BBQ is distant at best, perhaps a 13tb cousin 7 times removed. They have ribs on the menu, and chicken, but I couldn't find brisket, pretty much the epitome of Texas style barbecue, until I found, hidden away in the bottom corner, a brisket sandwich and a BBQ brisket burger. I chose the burger with fries. The burger patty itself was OK, standard chain restaurant bland-ish ground beef, but it was topped off with four or five very small slices of very cold, very fatty and very tough brisket with nary a hint of smoked goodness which is the hallmark of any good barbecue. The staff was friendly. We went a few days after it opened. It's min the same area as the harmony suites if you are staying there. We normally eat at the one in Times Square. Got the sticky wings. The sauce good but the chicken itself tasted watery. No seasoning on it at all. Just friend and tossed in sauce. The rice didn't have any flavor either. No chicken broth no nothing. The Caesar salad was big but it's not the caesar salad you are (dreaming about) it had tomato on it and grated Parmesan. I did appreciate that they gave me extra sauce when I asked for it. We stood online for about 20 mins, it went quick and we were patient since they just opened about a few weeks ago. The restrooms were out of order, we were advised to use the hotel bathroom next door. The place was visibly packed. We ordered our drinks and food, they came out pretty quickly. Staff is friendly despite the busy circumstances. As soon as the food was placed on the table .. mind you it was honey chicken and buffalo wings .. it smelled so bad like old dish water and sponge. I have never smelled food to be that way. Since we were seated close to the bathroom, I immediately thought it was just a scent coming from the bathroom only to find out after one or two bites that the chicken was just not clean, not cooked properly and quite frankly I don't even think it was chicken. Even from the couple bites my fiancé and I woke up sick sick food poison sick. I will never eat here again. We brought home the leftover food both opened it at the same time to confirm that it was bad meat. It smells like something I've never like toilet. Cornbread was cold and hard.
