He is kind, patient with the kiddos, teaches with an age appropriate intensity, and makes sure that each and every kid feels included and taught at their skill level. I can't imagine having another coach teach my kiddos on the developmental or competitive level. In fact, the one time I did (after my child aged out of the Hawks), my experience was atrocious. Steve teaches teamwork, inclusion, competitiveness and technical aspects, all while making sure the kids are having fun with it. Not only that, Steve is extremely approachable and open and honest with the parents. I served as his team manager for a period of time and learned even more first hand how patient and cooperative he is when it comes to the team parents. I 100% recommend the Hawks Sports organization and Coach Steve personally to any parents looking for an amazing soccer experience.

My oldest loves sports and fits right in, but my younger son, Hudson, is still building confidence in athletic environments. Last night, the gym was packed, and Hudson felt overwhelmed. He broke down and wanted to leave. But Coach Cory stepped in. He walked over to Hudson, brought him to a quiet corner, and coached him one-on-one--patiently, kindly, and with real belief in him. That simple act of encouragement changed everything. Hudson went from crying to finishing his workout... and now he can't wait to go back tonight.
