When I tried to take the blank form out of the envelope, it was stuck to the paper like glue and it tore. I filled it out anyhow and had to call again to get an address for mailing it back. Now its been 8 days since I mailed it and it has not been processed . I hope they keep the government shut down forever - who needs it.

I completed paperwork for an adjustment, mailed in November and still have not heard anything back from the office. I tried to set up a meeting for an in-person visit, but based on my responses to their questions, a in-person visit was deemed not necessary. I am a retired federal worker, and this office is a freakin joke. One representative told me that issued a penalty for 9 months because I did not sign up for Medicare. I told him, I just turned 65 two months ago, and you know I had 3 months before and 3 months after to sign up for Part B. How can you penalize someone who just turned 65. Oh, I have to talk to a supervisor. I have never seen incompetence at this level before in my life. Today, I spent an hour holding, then the phone clicked. It was 4 pm., so I guess the local branch closes at 4 pm. Freakin unbelievable the service you get these days.

Especially if it's an old building in the middle of a neighborhood. It's like coming home, even if it's my first time. So imagine my dismay when I realized I've been living in Dallas for almost six months and haven't gotten a library card! Shoot, I just figured out where the durn thing was last weekend when I went for a bike ride! So I put on my Mom Shorts and pink helmet and hit the road. I also made sure to pack "proof of my address" and a driver's license. Unfortunately, libraries are sticklers about this. But if you're a resident of Dallas, it's free! Didja hear me?? FREEEE! My Lakewood Branch is just fabulous. Sometimes, librarians can be mean. I dunno why, my own mother is one, I guess they just get embittered that no one reads anymore and children are obese Wii-playing brats. But these ladies were nice. There was an interesting selection of DVDs, that's for sure. The entire series of "The Waltons" was there...you can betcha I'll be hitting that one up! Also three copies of the Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards classic, "Blonde and Blonder." I actually almost rented that, but realized there are so many quality films out there that I simply can't waste my time with such drivel. So I rented The Quiet Man, The Flamingo Kid, and The Big Easy. Love my Dennis Quaid! Book-wise, I settled on Leonard Nemoy's son's memoir. It's all about his addiction and alcoholism. I can't wait! Support your local library, avoid Barnes & Noble and Blockbuster and all that other shite. Git down heeyah!

5 stars. Will visit again…read more If you are going to do the bad things, I suggest you do them in Rockwall county. I'm giving this 5 stars because every time I stop by for a mandatory visit, SGT Munson and the gang treat me well. I just don't like having to show them my front and back privates each time I stop by. Its not very neighborly. Sometimes when you're in there for a while, because you did the bad things, you'll get a middle-of-the-night, "show us your privates again and cough" surprise. Also, what's pretty cool about these folks is that they'll pick you up, wherever you are, regardless of what you're doing for free, to come spend some time with them for a spell, even if you don't want to. I suggest all who are physically able to, to try to work as a trustee. It's a blessing from the monotony and you are giving a bit more liberty within the jail. The kitchen is a lot of work but you can build camaraderie with the COs and with fellow trustees. Sometimes they even let you listen to the radio. Inmates are given 3 hot meals a day. I never complained because we were fed for free each day, when in Venezuela, free people don't even have that luxury. We also could shower everyday here...with hot water! There's chapel service once a week. There's a tiny library to use if you ask. There's counseling available once a week if you ask for it. I used it to figure out what the heck I was doing with my life and why I was not learning my lesson as each mandatory jail visit was subsequently getting more painful, costly, and making my judge super mad.
