Small but nice workout place near where I work in Uptown off Oak Lawn Avenue. It's located on the plaza level below the street level and you can access from the front or back of the building. The owner, Bobby, is a nice guy. You can do training with him or workout on your own. Covered parking is under the building (pic included) and you can access the gym pretty much any time with a key FOB (pic also included). There's a fair amount of cardio equipment, weights (free & machine), kettle bells, etc. There are also 2 showers with restrooms so you can clean up if you're heading back to work. Not a typical chain gym and usually not very crowded, so I love it being close to my office. read more

Even for its small size, the gym has just about everything you need to train! Very Veteran/Military friendly as well, which is what attracted me to it in the first place. Staff were always nice. Always nice and cool. Rarely is it ever packed to the point you can't use any equipment. They got a few surprising equipment that you rarely see in a Corp Gym. There is plenty of parking in the garage with a few lower lower levels, if you can't parallel park. Bob is the guy to talk to if you are interested in a membership. Do NOT get a membership here unless you like being lied to and ignored. My experience echoes K T.'s below. I'm tired of this crap from Bobby, the owner. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but at this point he is seeming more like a con-man than a business owner who sucks at following up. In a nutshell: Had an agreement with the owner to prepay for x number of months. Was double charged for every single month I prepaid after he confirmed he received my initial (pre)payments. Then given excuses and ignored over and over. Been trying to get in contact to cancel my membership now for at least 4 months after the doublecharging fiasco. We had worked out an agreement for me to prepaid via Venmo, and Bobby even liked the payment to show that he received it. Then he proceeded to double charge me for every single month that I prepaid... I would chalk it up to an honest mistake, but every time I tried to contact him to talk about it, he would either give me an excuse to not get back to me, and over time has begun to straight up ignore all of my texts and calls. He plays nice when you first meet him but he's shown his true colors. Maybe all of these reviewers who gave good ratings hadn't tried to cancel their memberships yet. Disappointing to get this kind of bullshit treatment when I sought out a gym that wasn't corporate owned in hopes of getting decent communication and service. Gym itself is a decent place to lift with a modest amount of equipment covering pretty much all the basics + some kettle bells and Indian clubs. Apparently the restaurant next door complains a lot if lifters are dropping their deadlifts in the gym. read more

This is about the tiniest gym you can imagine but it has most of the basics and usually isn't so busy you have to wait on equipment. The main things that attracted me to this gym were the location (it was across the street from my apartment) and that it was open 24 hours. Entrance through the key fob seemed pretty cool and made me think that the owner must be pretty tech toward - this wasn't the case. I should have taken it as a sign when email, text messages, and voicemail had no response. Eventually I was able to get the owner on the phone who insisted on meeting me before I signed up. So I come in for the "tour" and sign the paperwork. I worked late at the time and had to work out at odd hours. So I come in at about midnight and notice there is no AC. I don't know if it's a personal choice or an issue with the building but it was the summer and just disgustingly hot. If I wanted that I could just workout outside. After a few months you had the typical cycle of equipment breaking down without repair and eventually I moved and was ready to wash my hands of it. I sent in an email with my account information signifying that I was cancelling the monthly service (the no-contract was one of the main reasons I joined) and called it a day. The next month rolls around and I'm charged again. I make several calls, all of which aren't even just ignored but sent to voicemail after the first or second ring. Again I send an email stating that I want to terminate service. Again no response and I'm continued to be billed. I call my bank and let them know this guy is charging my account without my consent and to cut him off. They run an investigation with the info I give them and refund my money (I really didn't even want a refund I just wanted it to stop). Everything seems ok until I get a notice from the credit bureau stating that the gym had filed a debt against me and after a few months I notice it has begun to charge my card again. This is so much worse than any corporate gym I've ever had to deal with. It's not even that the owner is negligent, he's actively trying to wring you out of money. Please take my advice and go somewhere else, you'll save yourself a lot of time and money. read more

Terrible! Person could not be contacted. Left voicemail and email but was never given an update. Had to continue calling and calling and when the owner did answer he was rude af. Not able to get my money back for a service that was not provided and he couldn't even tell me that right away. It took two weeks for me to find this out. Crappy way to conduct business. The gym says it's 24/7 but when purchasing the day pass nowhere on the site does it say contact the owner before going yet that is the reason I'm not able to get my refund. I have been a member of Dallas Workout The Gym for couple of months now and I truly love this place. The biggest reason for me is that it's a walking distance from my apartment but I understand that may not be true for everyone. Well, how about 24hr access, convenient parking, plenty of equipment to get whatever workout you need in a clean, private environment. Often times I have the gym for myself but even when there are other people there is still plenty of room and equipment to get the workout done. read more

Excellent neighbor gym! Great trainers and all the right equipment. I've been to the mega corporate gyms, and this is by far better. They specialized in Kettlebells, Indian Clubs, Club Bells, Mace, and a lot of the cutting edge techniques used to gain strength or injury corrective strategies. read more

Don't know how Bobby runs a business. Continuously over charges, blames the customer and charges when accounts are cancelled. Trainers are unprofessional and love to strike up conversations with members that are obviously in the middle of a workout while training their own clients. I would NEVER tell anyone to join this gym. read more
