Really?Bad business practices almost impossible to cancel and I still haven't been able to cancel. It doesn't matter the reasons I want to cancel.I just want to cancel.I wasn't given a copy of the contract.I wasn't even given a receipt for the invoice. This is my second time as a member it has. It has not gone well.they turn people on purpose. It's disgusting. Pride before the fall. Bless yall. And they blocked my email communication. Not even a member if the bbb. O oy two stats. No one died or I'd give them a one star. Im running back to lifetime fit ess and gravity hause

Sat 1pm - unacceptable for monthly membership of $200+
    Diana K.

Update: Adding half a star because management has tried to make small improvements, like updating the steam room or replacing treadmills and bringing in new equipment. BUT beware that this location also consists of many members with poor hygiene! Part of this might be overpopulation and not enough cleaning staff, but some really gross things I've encountered in the women's bathroom: - toe nail clippings in the shower - used tampon in the shower - used tampon on the bathroom floor - clumps of hair in the shower - mudslides in the toilets - ETC. Like, come on people! If you're paying $250/monthly for a gym membership, let's also please practice good hygiene?!

The indoor water feature, day however many it's been this time ...
    Chris W.

I've been a member here for a little over a year and in that time I've watched this place to from bad to worse. Whether it be their inability to keep the air conditioning working without causing an indoor water feature in the middle of the upper body section, or an inattentive and unapologetically non-communicative management team, there's no shortage of things I can share about how bad this Equinox is compared to others around the country. I've worked out tonight watching every single person look up at the ceiling where water continues to leak, multiple carts lined up to catch it, and shake their head in disappointment. Please keep in mind membership here is $200+ a month, so there should be some expectation of an elevated experience compared to the LA Fitness down the street. The only reason I'm giving two stars is for the staff who care and treat you with respect. It's not their fault they are stuck in this situation, but I would strongly advise looking elsewhere in Dallas (Equinox at Preston Hollow is nice and quieter) or look at LifeTime.

Laundry Room with wet towels piled up and dry towels not folded 7am Sunday and ONLY 1 person for this and whole club.
    Julia D.

No hot water today or last Thursday. They are not effectively addressing it yet brag of selling most training sessions of any club in country. Where does the money go? It's not spent on amenities they tout in showing prospects around. Still no hot water on Sunday and no manager presence. No female Lockeroom attendants either. In general the trainers are excellent here as Is Katy the head of trainers. Housekeeping are very good as well just not enough of them. Caesar is the star in housekeeping. The early morning concierge try but often don't know the details of why things aren't working.

Huge pipe leak left unfixed for 1 month
    Jonathan E.

Getting more and more disappointed with this location. First, the AC breaks for more than a week (still not fully fixed), and then there's a huge pipe leak in the ceiling still ongoing for over a month now! Ceiling looks like it's about to cave in, and does not feel safe. Come on Equinox! Members paying $250 a month deserve more than this!

    Is there a basketball court?

No, unfortunately there is no basketball ball court.

Do they have squat racks for Olympic style lifts? If so, how many?

Four squat racks- of which, three are power racks. There is one oly platform and a ton of bumpers.

Does this location do guest pass if you are traveling in for the day?

If you are not a member, they will tell you it is a private club. If you are a member, you can ask your club's membership advisor to guest you there or you should also have membership guest passes in your account.

So a few questions? What is the lap swim like? is the pool fairly large? I know the Baylor Health Center has 9 lap lanes. Is there an additional fee for personal trainers or…

Okay so in order- there are two swim lanes and I've never seen it packed. The pool itself is literally the size of two lanes, so skinny and long, and it's saltwater. I've never been in it but it smells amazing lol. Personal training is done by a…

The class was challenging, fun, and energizing, and Stacey was an excellent instructor. After class, Rachel gave us a tour of the facility and was incredibly welcoming and friendly, just like the rest of the staff. The gym itself is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean. I especially loved the white and tan interior design--it creates a bright, upscale atmosphere. The women's locker room is impressive, featuring lockers for personal belongings, a sauna, and a cold plunge. There are also convenient water refill stations throughout the gym. One of the most unique features is the slide, which definitely adds some personality and fun to the space! There's also an outdoor workout area in the corner for anyone who prefers exercising outside. Overall, Recess offers a great combination of high-quality fitness classes, excellent amenities, and a welcoming community. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

This gym just gets the job done. Nothing more. After being a member at LifeTime for over a decade,…read moreand spending a couple months at Absolute Recomp, maybe my standards are just too high. The location is the only reason I'm a member here, as I'm big on not having to drive more than a few minutes for a lift. Staff is great and equipment is in good condition. Membership price is reasonable. The bathroom sink sensors are super irritating, anytime I've washed my hands I'm walking between 2, if not 3 sinks. Why do they only turn on once? It's a women's locker room, we use soap there... My main issue is the consistent running out of sanitizing wipes. There's always at least one station completely out, and last week there wasn't a sanitizing wipe in the entire building. Really? This should be a top priority for a gym. Nobody wants to sit on somebody else's sweat, let alone contract a bacterial infection. I guess it makes me feel better that only a small majority of members even wipe down their equipment in the first place. If you're reading this and you don't wipe your bench down, do better. That's disgusting.

The area where the gym is located is extremely nice, the commons where all of the shared village grounds are (including restaurants and coffee shops, along with this gym) is extremely upscale. My friend told me that in the past, it cost five dollars to bring a guest to this gym, but when we came on a Sunday morning, they told us it was actually $20. We went ahead and went for it since it was just one day, but in the future, just be aware of that. The gym itself is very nice, the facilities are very clean, especially in the locker rooms, and there was a plethora of equipment. Walking in there is a check in desk, and just to the left there is a big staircase next to the indoor space housing a basketball court. If you go up the stairs, there are a lot of machines up there along with free weight /free space areas with kettle bells and yoga mats etc. There's also a small outdoor area with some machines, including a battle rope and a few others. If instead of going up those stairs on entering you keep going towards the back, the locker rooms will be on your right, and there's some additional equipment under the staircase adjacent to the basketball court. Around the corner, there is also a lot more freeway equipment, including a Smith machine (my personal favorite) and free bars for squatting/benching as well as Dumbbells and things of that nature. I noticed also an outdoor area with like maybe a parkour area? I wasn't sure exactly what it was but looked like a grown up jungle gym. And just behind that, there was a large (and busy!) tennis court. On the other side of the gym itself, there were also some large fields that looked like maybe they're for soccer or some other field sport? I didn't see any soccer goals though. There's also a pretty long sidewalk surrounding area that would be nice to walk around, but just be mindful it's not a very shaded area and in the summer in Texas it's pretty hot so I would be careful about that. If you're living in the village, the location of the gym is really great because it's so close by. My friend and I were running late so we actually did drive (took 1-2 min from her apt) and parked in the parking garage underneath the village area; on the Sunday morning that we came it was just free to park there and we didn't even have to take a ticket, the bars were just up when we came in when we left. However, I imagine that if it wasn't a weekend, you may have to get a ticket and pay or validate. Last thing to note: even though it was a Sunday morning, there was a pretty decent number of people in that gym. I never had to wait for anyone to use any equipment or any machines, but I did see some people talking to each other about that. My friend told me that it was basically "empty as far as she was concerned," compared to how it is during the week when apparently it's much busier and you do sometimes have to wait for equipment. Overall, this place is really nice, and given im thinking about possibly moving to Dallas in a few years i am quite strongly considering this area because of how nice it is, and because of the presence of this gym! I wish they hadn't increased the price for guests (or had a fee at all), but for those living here and just using the facilities complementarily, this is a really nice place.
