Although literally just steps off of Wilmington Avenue, with its entrance on 1st Street, this place is somehow a bit hidden, making it all the more of a gem. A casual and fun environment (I mean the men's room walls are covered in Bruce Lee posters!) with a really lively and inviting staff, is complemented by some truly amazing Italian cuisine. Everyone raves about their pizzas, but there's also meatball, soup, a pair of salads and a pair of pastas that isn't to be missed. The Cacio e Pepe may be the best in class, and I've sampled plenty. I'll definitely be adding this to my "must eat at" list when in Rehoboth! read more

Food itself was very good. Pizza excellent, pasta good, soup outstanding but Mama Mia the prices are bonkers. 5$ for a plastic bottle of coke, 25$ for a thin 12"'pizza. Ordered the pea soup which was fantastic but it was what arrived was a tiny cub for a whopping 14$. Pretty basic Cesar salad 17$ These are Michelin star New York prices not Delaware beach prices. As always the food here is amazing. Large portion of Caesar salad - enough for 3 to share! Pastas are all great - again enough that 2 of us brought some home. Too full for dessert this time but everything we've had here is good. Cozy atmosphere. Service is pleasant & attentive. This place is just off the beaten path and never seems to be busy but we think it's among the best restaurants in Rehoboth for the price!! We got both Margherita and cheese pizzas which we all thought was pretty good with a nice chewy crust that has the right crispness, but we all preferred just the plain cheese. Pizza alone would give a 5 stars. Also tried the Bolognese, was was good; I'd give it 4 stars. Service was timely and people were nice. What was the most disappointing was the dippy bread. The way it was described sounded more like breadsticks made with pizza dough. But it's just bread, and not fluffy either. It was rather dense. I had a hard time tearing it to dip. Would definitely not get this again, and think $12 is too much for this! I wish I got my money back! This item got 1 star! So overall, I give this review 4 stars. read more

My friends and I were craving pizza after a long trip to the Rehoboth Beach from Alexandria, Virginia. The pizza I saw being sold on the boardwalk looked pretty plain and after some short research, we walked to Dalmata. Our server is wonderful, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive! We had the calamari and four different types of pizza. Everything was delicious and the chef even came out to see if everything was to our taste. Let me start by saying I was born and raised in NJ and spoiled with authentic Italian food. We recently moved to Delaware and have had a hard time finding a place with decent pizza and Italian food. Dalmata made our day! It is a hidden gem. The pizza, the homemade rigatoni bolognese and the meatballs were out of this world. To top it off, the specialty cocktails were perfect. Pizza was very delicious. Restaurant looked cute and like a fun scene. On the smaller side so if it's busy, you'll wait. We opted for takeout with two young ones. A few reviews mention price. If you're coming from a city and used to ordering pizza from more upscale pizza places, it's not that far off. Ingredients are clearly top notch. The white pizza and carbonara were amazing. Pepperoni/cheese pizza was really good too. Highly recommend. Only complaints (deducting 1 star in total for these since I feel like we wasted $37)... TLDR: The take out page needs more detail. We saw a fig and soppressata special pizza and ordered it. To our surprise, it was covered in peppers (covered as in you would have thought peppers were the main ingredient). This was a real bummer. No one in our family eats peppers - let alone this many peppers. We literally tossed the pizza. We also ordered the "crack" donuts. Ours were a mix of regular and maybe (?) chocolate (which was a surprise because again, the menu didn't say there would be different donuts, and we likely wouldn't have ordered had we known). Whatever the latter was... they were too oil logged to know (and tasted burnt)... they were NOT good. The original were ok (still quite oily). I wouldn't recommend these to go (or possibly at all). At $12, I expect better than 5 oil saturated balls of dough. We will definitely go back for the other pizzas (esp the carbonara). They were that good. read more

We arrived at Dalmata at 4:35, just as they opened. We were the only customers. My son loves white pizza (Quattro formaggio). There is one on the menu, but it comes with shiitake mushrooms and a few other things. We were getting dinner to go. The friendly bartender went into the kitchen, and asked for just the four cheeses. Chef said no! Hey chef, the 80's called, and they want their pompous ass chef back! I got Margherita. Very good, but has oregano. Meatballs were on the firm side. Just my opinion. This place has a brick oven, but gas fired. Not wood. Touch of Italy has the best pizza. Period! read more
