I loved using Daltile in a past kitchen project, so I was open to choosing Daltile again for my primary bathroom remodel. I was extremely fortunate to be connected with Kinsey Laugermann when I called the Daltile Richmond location, looking for design advice. Not only does Kinsey have wonderful taste, but she is warm, personable, and fun to work with. From the first phone call, I knew I was in good hands. At our showroom appointment, Kinsey listened, was supportive, and she had great ideas. She knows Daltile's products well, and she suggested some different tiles that were so much better than what I had first considered. Since then, she has been responsive to multiple emails, questions, and requests for samples. Every suggestion and piece of advice has held so much wisdom. No customer service at all. No acknowledgement that I was looking through the store or if I had any questions. Two people working and I was the only client in the store and they did not ask if I needed help or welcomed me in. I needed and wanted help looking for bathroom and outdoor tile. I get better customer service at Lowe's, Home Depot or floor decor. They will not be getting my business. read more

Daltile has sketchy business practices. First, let me say the salespeople were helpful. I had no issues with them. The problem is the discrepancy in the itemized Order Acceptance, and the lack of itemized receipt when paid. It wasn't a huge discrepancy, maybe $50, but when they don't provide an itemized receipt, you have no idea what you're paying for, but it's higher than the Order Acceptance. We purchased Mapai grout from Daltile, but didn't use it because of miscommunication between contractor and workers. They used their own grout which wasn't a big deal. It turned out fine. When I went to Daltile on Hempstead to return unopened bucket of grout, they have a big jerk in charge of returns. He showed me the fine print that supposedly says no refunds on anything, but it was so tiny I couldn't read it, and neither could he. He said "you might not be able to read it, but it's there." I guess his job is to be rude and intimidating, but I don't get intimated. He ended up refunding most of the cost, but their transportation surcharge isn't refundable. I still don't know why there was a discrepancy between the Order Acceptance and the amount charged to my credit card because Daltile didn't provide an itemized receipt. Luckily this was a very small project so it was a relatively small amount of money, but I can't imagine how much they would cheat you out of a large tile project. I will not use Daltile again. read more

While they have many nice selections, their customer service is the worst to me. I come there to get ideas and go buy somewhere else because the sales reps never offered any assistance and rude. They treat customer like we come for charity or we can't afford to buy or perhaps bothering them?! I have been coming to the Richmond location in the past 3 yrs and their service about the same which tells me that this is their culture of doing business; especially the young Asian lady (I am not racist believe me, I am also Asian)! Beautiful showroom. Very conveniently located. However, the staff could care less if you want to ask questions or even place an order. I finally got the attention of one of the representatives employed there and when I asked for a sample of a tile I did not realize until I got home that it was not the tile I had requested. Too unsure of this place to go back and face them again. Just will select another place to buy my tile. Such poor customer interaction. What a waste of my time. read more

I walked in and was not greeted. I looked around and found 3 people huddled together on their phones. I had eye contact with them and no one still said hi. I started to browse no one came over. When I asked who worked there if someone knew if someone could help me!!! Gasp. Guess what. THEY all worked there. As I proceeded to ask for help and would say thank you. I got a " no problem or a hmmmm" after every time I said thank you. When I left, the Hispanic male who was helping me along with the entire staff looked at me, made sassy faces and the one man threw his hands up and made a screaming face. If you do not care about customer service come here. If you want to be treated poorly come here. If you want to be made to feel uncomfortable come here. Our contractor sent us to Daltile and I'm so glad he did! We worked with Lynn who was such a delight to work with, she helped me organize my scattered ideas and really design and select tile for our remodel. She took a step further to draw up the designs for us which was a BIG help to our installer. Could not be more grateful since we were doing it all on our own she really helped ground us and relived the stress. Their pricing was very reasonable and they delivered everything to our home on time. Lynn even followed up with us months after, which I thought was so sweet. So grateful for a company and Lynn who really took her time and cared about our project. Thank you! read more

This place was great! I had no issues when I went here. The sales person greeted me as I walked in and went over all the options. He explained the benefits of buying from them and what I could bring next time I come to pick out the perfect tile. I'd recommend this place to anyone, not sure what everyone else had an issue with?! Side note - this place was recommended to me by by someone in the industry. Beware of Daltile products! The one star is for pleasant customer service in The Woodlands, Tx. Really unhappy with the product and the tacked on excessive transportation fee! We ordered from the 2"x 6" sample of mosiac small tiles of glass (?) and natural stone (sea jewels Conch). What we received was close, but not exact, but decided to go ahead with it. The sent product had numerous more cream colored clay looking tiles than the sample of glass(?) and natural stone, shell, whatever (?). We used a light cream grout to keep it slightly lighter than the light granite on the counters. The overall look came out a few shades darker than the granite, because all the "clay tiles", obviously more porous, sucked up the grout to give the overall look of brown backsplash. Expensive lesson learned! read more

The website says 6:00pm, the door says 5:00pm and the surly young woman in the store says it's 5:30. She did give me permission to "come back tomorrow". As others have previously stated, the staff is not hospitable and downright rude. However I saw an interior designer come in and they were like ants all over her. If you are an individual, cold shoulder is the order of the day. My contractor sent me there to look at the newest tiles so that I could make some decisions. Over one hour there and I had to step in front of someone and physically stop them to ask a question and then all I got was a 2 word answer and they moved on. Rude! read more

Alright, so we walked into this store to look for tile for our new town home we are currently purchasing. Upon entrance we noticed a man sitting at a counter who was clearly an employee, but never once acknowledged us. It was four o clock on a Wednesday and there was only one other person in the store, so he clearly was not busy, just didn't feel like greeting us apparently. Keep in mind, my husband and I are in our late twenties and I'm sure appear like patrons not willing to spend money. We stayed in the store for twenty to thirty minutes and all we received were awkward, dirty looks. It was extremely annoying as we are new homeowners and could use some assistance. Sally was very helpful from the beginning selection process, to sending samples to out of town job site, and providing PDF tile layouts from our floor plans of our selections. She also eagerly helped navigate some unforeseen issues along the way. Alison the manager was instrumental in resolving a freight issue that arose when placing the order. Both went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. Highly recommend this location for their products and customer service . read more

Ok so I gave this store a second chance. The first time I went it seemed busy and staff was not super helpful. Believing still that it's their job to try to help potential customers, I gave them a second shot. First off if you are planning to come here, become more aggressive. No one, not any of the three staff members milling around will acknowledge your presence. I had to ask if someone was busy to get them to help me. So weird. Especially in Houston. Also, they just aren't good at making suggestions exactly like another reviewer or two said. I felt like I had to beg for them to attempt to give me some advice. I was working on a bathroom remodel and was told by my installer to go look at Daltile. I was greeted by a staff member and asked if I wanted a snack or drink. I walked around for a bit to look at material, later I was asked again if i needed help and started discussing layout and product information. The young man who helped me was so knowledgeable and great with color. we talked several options and ideas. As a first time customer, maybe I'm too new to the kitchen rehab game to know what the usual. But usually when I walk into a business, I'm greeted. Not on this place! I walked in amd not a single soul said a word to me. When the salesman got done with their current customer, they walked to the private room and didn't even come back out. I had to go to the private room door and ask for help. Yet when a white woman walked in behind me, the black saleswoman went straight to her! The guy that came out of the back was far less than helpful. Is this an upper kirby thing? I thought I knew the bourgeoisie sides of Houston, but now I know that this place isn't interested in the average peroson trying to do redo her kitchen. read more

The showroom here is one of the best I have been in, but the customer service is one of the worst. Against my better judgement, we still ended up ordering our tile from here because it was exactly what we wanted. That was a mistake. We ordered and paid in full for the tile only to find out when it was time to pick it up that they had sold and given our entire order to someone else. The people in the showroom were not knowledgeable about what they had in stock and did not seem interested in doing their job. After hours of trying to get this figured out, we decided to just order from someone else in town who luckily had the same tile. If you want to go look at a bunch of different options in a nice showroom, I would go here. But, order it from someone else if possible. I have spent the last two month selecting tile for floor, bathroom, fireplace and backsplash. The first time I met with Danica Reece, she made all the selections so easy. I had to go back a few times to check on specifics BUT finally today with paint, accents etc chosen, my last selection was grout. I looked over grout choices a few days thinking surely I could do this alone. Not so..... I just left from meeting with Danica where she helped me select. I am all done. She really helped me through the process and I feel very comfortable with the choices and potential outcome. I told her I would come back by and show her pictures in June. They shipped our tile floors to the wrong location. When I called to check on when the order will be picked up from the wrong location and delivered to our house, the customer service representative was hostile and hung up on me. So far, the installation is going well. But will not use them again. Very incompetent individuals. read more

I am a designer in the area. When I need tile selections, Daltile is the first place I think of to visit. They have a wonderful selection, are conveniently located and are always helpful. Granted, when they are busy and I don't have an appointment, it can take time to get help. When I do get assistance, the showroom personnel are always knowledgeable and guide me correctly. Every visit provides me with excellent options for whatever it is that I am working on. read more

Although we had in mind the tile we wanted, Roger Diaz, Design Consultant, spent a great deal of time with us on recommending the shade and design of the tile for our bathroom remodel. He explained the ease of cleaning the tile and also assisted us in the grout color for the tile and paint color for the cabinets and walls. He looked up the tile to see if it was in stock and two of the tiles were in stock but one had to be ordered with a 2-3 day turnaround. We visited the showroom during the weekday around 11:30 am and it was not very busy at that time. I'd recommend this place to friends and relatives. read more

We have never received better staff service from any other business in this industry. We have owned a few homes, done some remodeling, and also spent a few years in custom home building. Our recent experience at the Richmond Ave location was outstanding, thanks primarily to Roger D. We needed his expertise on their product line and on design options for our new home currently under construction. Roger has been extremely helpful. I would like to thank Danica Reece for her outstanding, creative, thoughtful, beautiful, tile designs that she selected for my new build. Danica is truly talented as a designer and has fresh, contemporary and yet classic taste. She was phenomenal to work with. We had several appointments, and she was always prepared with coordinating looks for each room. She understood exactly what I was looking for, and through her own recommendations was able to provide me the outcome I wanted in a very beautiful and cohesive design. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her work, her design choices, and how kind and fun she was to work with. I completely recommend her to anyone who is in need of tiles!! In addition, we worked within budget which I did not think was going to be possible to achieve the look and feel design I was envisioning. She did it, and she did it beautifully! I will keep it at that, but there are many more positive things I could write about my experience; another tip - definitely work with the designers at Daltile - they have tiles that aren't on display that they can pull out for you if they suit your tastes! I came in on a Saturday and saw it was pretty busy. There were three staff members juggling the walk-ins to the best of their abilities. Upon waiting my turn I was helped out by a gentleman who was very helpful in picking selections for my master bath based on my idea concepts. He was very helpful and knew the product very well, and made recommendations on grout and paint to go along with the concepts he came up with. After reading the reviews I was skeptical to go but walked out very satisfied with how courteous and knowledgeable he was. I will definitely use them for future remodeling project. read more
