My husband and I cleared our schedules on a Thursday to come here eager to look at the flooring for our whole home remodel project. We walk in and no acknowledging from the Asian and Caucasian ladies at the desk. Fine, I'm pretty self sufficient. Time goes by and nothing. My son decides to pick up one of the little grout samples and the Asian lady says, "Kids, let's not touch." I took that as an opportunity to ask questions and I got short and condescending answers. In that moment, I knew my pregnant self was going to blow so I grabbed my kids and decided to skiddaddle. Unfortunately for them, a Caucasian lady happened to walk in and was immediately acknowledged. I couldn't stay silent. I marched right up to the lady at the desk and asked why I wasn't helped until my child touched something. She said, "I'm sorry" and pointed at her computer. Absolutely ridiculous/discriminatory customer service. I will never come back here. We met with Wellington in the showroom on 3 separate visits, who was extra patient with us and made lots of suggestions. He provided us with helpful knowledge, so that we were finally able to make our selections. Special thanks to the folks in the slab department for providing samples, and especially to Kirsten. She made our quartz purchase a breeze. As first time home remodelers, we appreciated this level of customer service. Daltile has a long standing reputation in the construction business for having quality products. Guys. I don't know how this isn't a 5 star reviewed business. I came in on a Tuesday after a bad experience at MSI in Hayward. I'd been looking for countertops for weeks, but everything was expensive and not what I was looking for. Multiple other businesses didn't take me seriously, and kind of brushed me off. Sure, a couple other places had more options. But the price on every one of the 10 slabs I quoted was far cheaper than everywhere else I had been. I was actually shocked. Then, Anielca was super friendly and right before closing hopped on the forklift and spread some slabs out for me to pick two of my favorite ones. Walked out same day after 1.5 hours feeling extremely content with my purchase, and even happier with the price. Getting shipped free to my contractor. Highly recommend. They are beyond helpful with product knowledge, providing samples etc. I am not sure that I'll purchase materials from them as I cannot find exactly the size I need, but I sure hope to do business with this team. As for the lady in the slab portion of the showroom. She clearly hates her job and should find something else to do. She is rude and seems to be very b!tchy. Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she was busy (I was the ONLY person there), maybe she is just a miserable person, but just due to lack of customer service I will never purchase from that side of the showroom. read more

I went to several stone slab centers and Daltile had a small but high quality selection. They also had the smallest staff of any other facility we visited but their staff were extremely knowledgeable and gave us consistent prices on our multiple visits. Sadly no other facility was able to quote us the same price when we had a repeat visit which was something that made me suspicious enough not to trust these other facilities staff. In the end daltile had the best deal for great quality and experienced and conscientious employees who remembered us and gave us great service. read more

Ah yes, another stop to look for bathroom tile but finally, had a wonderful experience! I came in with no expectation as I already had a bad experience at another Tile Showroom...talk about night and day. Walked into the showroom and wow, loved it already...showroom is light and airy with a variety of tile options for kitchen, bath, wall, flooring, accents...immediately greeted (huh? what u talking to me?!) which was surprising and refreshing...YAY acknowledged my presence...Perused about 10 mins and one of the ladies offered assistance with any questions, suggestions, etc. I already had something in mind and Anniece helped guide me with options of sizes, colors, her personal opinion, and would professionally, provide feedback and did mention she didn't have a design background (appreciate the honesty) but what she offered was truly helpful. She also went to the back to find samples so I could see my choices together...wonderful! As Anniece was in the back, Therese checked if I had any additional questions. I appreciate they both work as a team vs 'you're already being helped so I don't have to' attitude...yeah it's the little things. Therese was extremely helpful, personable, great product knowledge, suggested colors, which complimented one another, shape options, asking if I was going more for cool or warm tones and then would bring up samples to show me and to take home. This was SUPER HELPFUL! After everything was written up, I brought my order to the Sales office next door where Jason wrote down how much I needed, placed the order and said it would take about a week...very professional and helpful. A productive day (thumbs up!) Highly recommend visiting the showroom on a weekday so it's not crowded, not rushed and experience the awesome customer service I had today. Therese and Anniece ....You ladies rock!! They made a dreaded buying task back into a fun and painless experience which I truly appreciate and thank them! Final note: DalTile may have low Yelp reviews but ironically my experience was just the opposite...possibly they are reading their reviews and listening to the feedback or people were just cranky lol. I would defiantly give them a zero if I could. Awful customer service. We went in July to select tile for our bathroom remodel. We worked with one lady named Angela and she helped us pick tile and also took down our measurements. She said she would send us pricing in a couple of days. We did not hear back from her so we called to follow up. Angela said that one of our choices was discontinued and that she would pick out other choices and get back to us later that day. Well guess what? We never heard from her. I called one more time and finally gave up. Our contractor suggested Bedrosian's in Hayward. My relationship with Dal-Tile started with a phone call from my car saying I'm I was coming from Discovery Bay and running late. I wanted to make sure that if I were delayed would that they still be open. Anielca said the crew would be gone but she would wait for me. That was the start of her kindness and professionalism. She then found the perfect slab of granite at a really awesome price. She arranged for me to look at four different slabs by having them displayed on a heavy rack, no easy task. I could choose two out of four slabs. She gave me the fabricator's discount and arranged for an easy payment link. The whole process was seamless and efficient. The slab side of this business is horrible. The slabs are not all visible and when asked if they could be moved or rotated, the employees are put off and have a horrible attitude. I am not sure what they expect a customer to do when they can't view the slabs! I left the slab side during one of my visits and went over to the tile side; the tile employee asked me if I had found anything and I honestly told her my horrible experience. She walked me back over and the slab employees treated her the exact same way. I was advised I would have better luck finding what I wanted in regard to countertops, someplace else. And so that's what I did- I went to Vadera and found exactly what I wanted. I did buy my tile for my backsplash at DalTile, but was equally disappointed. I really hate to do this, but several factors made me decide on a two star review. First of all, this place has some really nice-looking and high quality stuff, but you will pay through the nose for it. They also didn't have nearly the selection that I would have liked (at least at my budget hah). We went through this place to get our tile for our bathroom remodels. Now, the bathrooms look great, especially compared with what was there before. However, I would not have picked these tiles out in the first place if their price hadn't been grossly misrepresented to us. For the amount of money we paid for them, there were many tile styles and colors I would have preferred over what we did end up with. Unfortunately, when we did find out the actual costs of the tiles we had already picked out lots of other items to go with them and we simply didn't have the energy or time to rethink the bathroom design. Secondly, although we appreciate the helpfulness of the sales people here, don't trust their design sense. The colors that they picked out to go with these tiles (that they had suggested) did not match at all. We ended up having to pick out new colors, buy new paint and repaint the bathrooms, all at extra cost to ourselves. read more

I have been to a few tile places. Couple of them don't have much supplies on display. Some have staff that do not communicate well. The store where I bought the vanity for my two and half baths and the tile for one of the bathrooms has a very disorganized display. I asked for tiles of different sizes and was told to go read the labels myself. When I first came by Daltile to try to find some tiles of smaller size, Therese greeted me immediately. She was helpful and gracious in letting me take a couple of tile samples back to match. Because I remember the showroom being spacious and organized with lots of designs to choose from, I came back a second time to buy tiles for my other bathroom. I sent Therese a very detailed email with five pictures. She had an immediate good grasp of what I was trying to accomplish. She set me down at a table facing a wall shelf under good lighting, and proceeded to bring me samples after samples of different shower wall tiles and contrasting trims that will work with my own floor tile. I felt like I was a very important customer. The final design we settled on was "calm and peaceful" as she put it. Definitely recommend the store and especially Therese. read more

Subcontractor tiling my floors sent me here for some schluter. Due to COVID restrictions they reluctantly let me into showroom. Nobody offered to help me look or find what I was looking for. Picked out what I needed after several minutes and hoped for the best. Tiler ended up only needing 1 of the 2 pieces I purchased so I returned the other one. I called to let them know that I was there to return the piece of schluter. She proceeded to tell me they have a 25% restock fee! Seriously! I am so glad I don't buy anything expensive! The woman was curt and very no nonsense. Just didn't feel like a valued customer. When I mentioned to my actual contractor where the tile guy had sent me she said oh no! She dreads dealing with them! I won't be back and I will make sure people know they are not nice to deal with. At least in the store. The guys outside are sweet as sugar! read more

Anielca in the slab department is a GEM! She went above and beyond to show me great customer service to take care of my needs. I found the most beautiful Marble slabs here for a very reasonable price. Anielca answered all my questions, offered to work late to work with my schedule, reached out to other Daltile locations-- all to make sure I found the best slab possible. Vivie in the tile department was super sweet and helpful in helping me find matching tile for my slabs. She also went above and beyond to email me, send me samples to my home, and worked with me during her lunch break to help me find the best tile. I have spent months going to different tile and slab warehouses, and these two ladies at Daltile significantly stood out with their customer service. One thing in terms of room for improvement is the appointment process during COVID-19. I made an appointment with the tile room 4x or more, and every single time, they somehow did not have record of my appointment, or it was marked down for the wrong time. However, this did not deter from my experience, as they always allowed me to still come in. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience with Daltile San Leandro! read more

Thanks for our contractor, we were able to go to their contractor entrance on Merced Street and purchase pre-made wall niches for tile showers. The employees behind the counter were very helpful with our purchase. We took the opportunity to visit their granite slab warehouse. Lots and lots of granite slabs beautifully displayed. Some of the slabs looked like works of art. I can see rich guys buying a huge slab and simply displaying it in their mansions. read more

A friend recommended Daltile to me after I had a horrible experience with two high end tile stores in San Francisco. The high end stores provided samples that did not match what they shipped but would not address that problem. Expensive tile ended up on my furnace room floor. Daltile has an amazing selection, the best showroom I've found in my search - lot's of roomy tables on which selections can be compared, amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff with lots of suggestions and maintenance tips - it's just a low stress wonderful environment. Special thanks to Theresa who spent a generous amount of time with suggestions and samples, was patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. Their tiles are extremely reasonably priced. I wish I'd found them before wasting my time and money at the "high end designer" stores. read more

Our trip this week included a great discussion with design consultant, Therese Atienza. Therese looked at what we wanted to do and recommended a couple of mosaic tile styles that were not in stock. Was not pleased with the staff in the show room. There were two. One of them named Therese because I saw the business cards after approaching the staff at the desk since no one approached us to help. We were not greeted at all when coming in nor after walking in front of them either. No, "may I help you", NOTHING. My mom even noticed it. We left quickly. They lost our business. We are doing a bathroom remodel so we have been visiting a few tile showrooms. We have had the best experience at Dal Tile with Therese. We showed her a photo of our existing tile bathroom floor and asked her for some suggestions for shower tile to flow with the floor tile. After discussing what look we were aiming towards she showed us some examples and shared her knowledge and expertise in design. So helpful! She allowed us to take home a few samples and sent to our home some additional samples that were not available at the time. Excellent service! read more

Their products and selection are decent but the salespeople don't lift a finger to help the customer. There was no one on the floor to ask questions to, so when someone did show up he did the bare minimum, then deferred us to the receptionist. He said pictures would be taken of the tile we were interested in then emailed to us, as the first step. Never happened. No follow up whatsoever after 2 weeks! This is certainly a company who doesn't possess any customer service at all, so they are off my list!! read more

My kitchen granite countertop was purchased from Daltiles. After only 4 months if use it started chipping, cracking and discoloring. I contact the office and Jonathan Graves came in to assess the situation. And told me it's a natural character of the stone. I am having a horrible experience with this business. I suggest you save your money and time and go somewhere where you can find quality product and a better customer service. read more

Honestly, in 27 years living in USA, I can't recall having a customer service experience like this. This place was recommended to me by Home Depot in Napa. I purchased a simple house in Napa and decided to upgrade my kitchen a year later. Everything was fine at Home Depot, we agreed on design (very simple and typical for a small house in Napa). So, I drive to San Leandro to see the marble slab. I was greeted normally by Monica Morales, one of the associates there. She showed me the marble slab, and we both agreed that particular slab had some defects. No problem, it happens, she assured me they have other branches in San Jose and Sacramento whom may have the slabs with no defects. She promised to contact them and send me the photos for an approval. And I said ok. Week went by and I haven't heard back. We all know how difficult it is to align construction workers for the project. So I called a week later and she said: I was just working on your slabs... Sure! But ok, fine. She sends the photos from one of the branches which were smaller (thank God I looked at the specs before approving them, not to mention she had the same specs). Since that time (two weeks ago) I have been emailing and asking what the progress is on my kitchens marble slabs. I had only heard once from her stating the branches are working on her photos and they need a quality control. I understand the quality control, etc., but I also think when you call your company branches and ask if they have the particular kind of marble, usually, the answer is yes or no, and if it's yes - it takes a little time to take a photo to send for the approval. And that's exactly what I said to Monica Morales in my email. I never heard from her ever since. No updates, no "sorry for the delay, but we don't have the product"... DID I MENTIONED THEY MADE ME PAID IN ADVANCE?! So, this company has a horrible customer service and I don't recommend this. We recently remodeled a kitchen and bought the Hirsch Sparkle Mosaic tile in the 1/4 inch tile size from Daltile for the backsplash. The glass tile is beautiful in the sample, but it is a TERRIBLE product. The backs of the tiles are smaller then the front and do not adhere well to the web backing. This results in the tiles coming off the backing while the installer is trying to install them. They are not uniformly glued to the web backing so when they are installed, they look like a kindergartner's art project. When the installer tried to grout the tiles, they popped off the walls. Daltile made no attempt to rectify this problem. They claimed it was only an installation problem. We had to rip them out and replace them with tiles we bought from another manufacturer....and different tile provider. I was very disappointed in their service. read more

Just left this place and have to agree with the other reviews. The service here is horrible. No one greeted us for a good 10 minutes. There were two ladies chatting behind the desk, paying no attention to customers. Even if they were in the middle of something work related, a polite acknowledgement would have been nice. And when I asked a question about a stone, I was told it did not come in any other size. Low and behold, I find it on the wall in another area. Obviously this salesperson did not know her products. Nor did she bother to leave her desk to even suggest alternatives. When I later asked for a sample, she said it would be a minute and continued to chat with her co-worker with no sense of urgency to get back to me. If you are looking for service, don't bother coming here. Not worth it. read more

I bought my gorgeous granite from these folks for my kitchen remodel. The granite looks like wood. With grain and everything, except it's granite. Freakin' fantastic. Costed many, many, many, many a pretty penny -- but I think well worth it. I went to at least 8 other slab yards and nothing compared to their selection and quality. read more

Dal-Tile -- I went to their Lakeland, FL location twice. The first time the one and only sales person was talking with another customer. After 15 minutes he still had not even acknowledged our presence, even just to say he'd be with us as soon as he was finished. We left. The second time I had to walk to the back after 5 minutes to let two women sitting there know they had customers. They looked annoyed and said they would be a few minutes. One finally came out, could not have been less interested in us as customers, and showed absolutely no interest in showing us product or answering questions. We said we'd look around, she immediately went back to her office and we left. I don't think I have EVER experienced a worse sales experience. I would never go back to these people, I'm amazed they are still in business. read more

I will update this as it goes but so far my experience with the staff goes as follows. On hold for 20 minutes , I call back explain I am only trying to find out if they have a sample of tile in there store because the store closest to me does not and I was told to call here. After the long hold time I CALL BACK the call is forwarded to sale again and it rings for literally 5 minutes until someone pick up the phone and hangs it up without saying anything! I call back and I am on hold again. I have now spent 40 minutes with this company and have not even had the chance to chance to tell them why I am calling. I was cautious because I use yelp a lot service so when my tile contractor told me to call here I used yelp to find the number only to see lots of negative reviews. Finding that there is a reason for this so far! Very frustrated!!!!! read more

Dal Tile helped my kid's school by donating their colorful tile extras. We were able to make some colorful mosaic planters to sell at the school auction. Any business that gives back to the community in these ways deserves some points (in my book). read more

I went into their slab yard recently and as other reviewers have pointed out, customer service is nonexistent. I saw 2 female employees in the slab area, one of who was doodling on a piece of paper while there were customers walking around. I wanted to see a few slabs that the fabricator I'm working with put on hold for me, but they don't operate forklifts on weekends and I wasn't able to see the slabs in full view. Instead, I walked around and looked at what they had that was visible in full view. I then asked one of the female employees Monica pricing information. She gave me retail prices and I asked her if fabricators get a discount on the slabs and she says no, they don't get a discount which is not true. The fabricator I work with told me he gets 20% discount which he was willing to pass on to me so Monica lied. Fabricators definitely do get discounts so she wasn't being honest and that speaks alot to her character. On top of that, she wasn't able to provide pricing on a particular marble slab that I really liked and she said I had to speak to my fabricator and have them call in to get a price. That makes no sense to me. If she was able to provide pricing on the other slabs, surely she could have provided pricing on the one I liked. They don't train their employees or their employees just don't care and the whole process is not worth the time and effort to visit their showroom. You won't get any service so why bother? Try Da Vinci Marble instead. They have a larger selection of slabs and the sales reps are much nicer and actually do talk to you! read more
