Don't ever judge a book by its cover. Although it might have a somewhat bar type look on the outside this is a very casual and pleasant local restaurant with great food, well prepared drinks and FANTASTIC service. Excellent menu choices from steak and fish to burgers. Our cocktails were prepared perfectly. One of the best Cosmos ever. The fried calamari was good but not great. The Artichoke Francese over pasta was outstanding. The Chicken Francese over pasta was tender and flavorful. Our server Shayne was so very outgoing, pleasant and professional. Food was mostly good- my daughter enjoyed her homemade Mac and cheese and I liked the Jamaican chicken and rice but boys complained about their meat being overcooked. Waitress was nice and smiling. Wait was terrible really terrible- they only had one cook but it was very quiet and it took more an hour to get the food with lots and lots of wait in between to order or get the check. Crazy wait. Also their covid policy is unacceptable: waitress was wearing her mask loosely under her nose, they never asked for any contact tracing information, the bar was crowded with people with no masks and there was customers coming in the restaurant with no masks on. Apps.. Potstickers .... YUM Stuffed Mushrooms... OUTSTANDING Our dinners ranged from the Chicken Parm to the Cheesesteak to the Cod to the Chicken Sandwich Diablo style (I'll try the burger that way next time as the sauce was Yum.) A hidden jewel so don't be fooled by the appearance, the food is right on. The speed out of the kitchen was a little slow but there were also a couple large tables in the bar. Me and my family went here for dinner we ordered the New Jersey styled wings for an appetizer and the wings were very well made and delicious I do recommend. For the main meal my mom ordered something I can't remember and what she ordered came out raw. My mother is a chief so this is very unusually and she was a little pissed but she just had some of my pizza. read more

Dalton's: A real-world "Cheers" This gem in the rough boasts both a dining room and a bar. I've done both, but soon learned that the bar is the place to be. You're able to order the full menu at the bar, and I occasionally do so. Where they shine, however, is their bar food. They do their own pizzas (with anything you want on it, and yes, there will be a small charge for lots of meat, or unusual items such as shrimp). Try their ribs- I made the mistake of trying one that Robin, one of the owners, offered me off her own plate. Hooked from that day forward. Wings also decent, in addition to a variety of burgers. Daily specials. Their beer selection is well... standard. Coors, Bud, Yeungling on tap, slightly fancier, more specialized beers in a bottle. Decent liquor selection for such a small-town establishment. Live music on Sunday and Thursday nights- local favorites and new acts. Typically two and three person groups. Where they lack: Ful-fledged waitstaff. They're polite, but not always on top of things. A neat bonus- one of them makes the cheesecakes available for dessert (with fall comes pumpkin flavored- great!). The reason I get good service? I tip well, and I'm a regular. Come for the bar, not the dining room. Wednesday experiences include a funny bartender that knows a good deal about the topics one shouldn't discuss at a bar- politics and religion. Quick with a joke, makes great Manhattan and margarita. I've been going for my Long Trail IPA since shortly after they opened about a year ago. God help them if they ever get rid of it! read more

There is no way I'm ever going back. My wife and I went in last Thursday for prime rib special. We both ordered the same way cooked so there wouldn't be any confusion. We ordered medium and they both came out medium rare. Not a good cut of meat and a lot of fat. On a rating of 1 to 10 we would give this restaurant a 2. My friend and I stopped there after the Dakota wolf preserve. Good food, wait staff fantastic, delicious dessert. And the price was right!

We went there to celebrate a birthday. Small group of six. Ordered drinks and appetizers as soon as we got there. Drinks came out and it took appetizers over a half hour and only after we asked if she remembered to put the order in. It was not a busy night by any means. Our dinners took over an hour and by then we were all very annoyed. Ended up getting them to go and probably won't eat them with the attitude of the bleach blond in flip flops that brought the take outs out to us. Don't waste your time. read more

We ended up in the area on a whim, fell asleep and missed our original reservations and came upon this place... we had a great experience. Food was very good and they stayed late waiting for all guests to be done. Robin (bartender) was beyond accommodating, thank you!!! Nice, friendly atmosphere and very good food. The soups are homemade and excellent. The burgers top notch. I had the bratwurst which i have had in many a German restaurant, but here it was one of the best ever. Big portions, dinner include salad and reasonable prices. Definitely a great addition to the limited local dining scene in western Warren county( and I've been here 25 years). Live music is great and always enhances the experience. read more

The Jerk Shrimp is great here. Most of the food is spicy hot. So if you don't like it hot ask them to tone down the seasoning and they will oblige. Also a musicain named Marty McKearn performs here occasionally... He is awesome! read more

Stopped here on a Friday evening before heading to a weekend campsite. Definitely a local's hangout. It felt like a throwback in time. Even though I was a "stranger" here, I felt very welcome. They do specials on a regular basis. I had the lasagna special and a beer and it was excellent. I will agree with another review which stated it has a "Cheers" vibe for regulars. This is our neighborhood bar and grille. The food is always great, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, and they have live music on Sunday nights. We love the burgers and skirt steak sandwich. Had dinner as a family at Dalton's Inn and enjoyed it immensely! Comfortable atmosphere and separate bar area that was also nice. We had the fried calamari, home made mac n' cheese, a burger and coconut shrimp. All were very good but the shrimp were out of this world. I'm also excited to go back because there were numerous items on the menu that sounded delicious that I'd like to give a try. read more

Waited 35 minutes for our appetizer. An hour for our food. By time it came out we were all frustrated and asked for it to go. Our waitress was a friendly brunette who apologized numerous times, was extremely friendly to my daughter and I felt bad for her as it was obvious she was trying her best to accommodate us. The other waitress (blonde, probably around 60) was nasty and informed my boyfriend and stepfather that she "didn't know who ordered what and we'd have to figure it out" while dumping the food on the table. She was also wearing flip flops, which is kind of gross when serving food (and I've waitressed many years so I know that's not the norm). I can't speak for anyone else in our party, but I tried a piece of chicken from my salad and it was rubbery. My boyfriends burger was served on what appeared to be the heels of a loaf of bread thrown into the box. The restaurant was not particularly busy and we were there to celebrate my moms birthday. I feel bad that she had such an awful experience for her birthday dinner. We ordered burgers and a salad, so this wait was just excessive. Will not return read more

Decided to try this place last night with my daughter and son-in-law and we were very pleasantly surprised. The menu is very diverse and we'll thought out, many creative and homemade dishes,. Our server was friendly and extremely informative. We started with appetizers, the Celtics nachos (thinly sliced fried potatoes topped w/bacon, scallions, Irish cheddar, jalapenos with sour cream and salsa which were AMAZING along with the fried calamari which was great also. I had a cup of split pea soup which brought me back about 40 years to my Mom's kitchen and her split pea with the big chunks of ham - yummy. Our entrees were a Veggie Pot Pie which was a welcome surprise for my daughter to find on the menu, I had the Chicken Pot Pie and my son-in-law had Diablo burger platters with fresh hand cut fries - ALL were amazing!!! We ended by sharing a slice of white chocolate strawberry cheesecake, Chef Ghris is amazing! We will be back here for many more meals. read more

Really one of our go-to places for good company, cold beer, great bloody mary's and always better-than-expected food! (and I mean that in a good way). Their diablo burger has been my fav , but recently have been trying other menu items. The pasta primavera with garlic&oil is really good, the chicken fingers & handcut fries for $10 are my hubby's favorites (much better than most places), the broiled cod entree is yummy. The salads are fresh and crisp. If you are in the mood for clams, they have a menu item of steamed clams with broth, bacon and hot peppers that is awesome. We had a group of 11 that was celebrating an event - we had just completed the last leg of our hike across New Jersey - and chose Dalton's as our place to quench our thirst and satisfy our hunger after our 14 mile hike. We had a lovely lunch mostly appetizers and burgers which were terrific. Lots of beer choices too. But what was especially nice was that Dalton's had a surprise ice cream cake for us to celebrate our accomplishment. It was really touching. read more
