They haven't improved their fare over the years I'm afraid. Most everything has no flavor. Hamburgers are tasteless and the bun literally falls apart in your hands while you struggle to eat it. Up until most recently no steaks of any interest. The only pluses of this place is their sauted zucchini squash, their Oriental Chicken salad, and their French Onion Soup. Their Tater Tots are pretty tasty, too. But the entrees need a complete revamping. No wonder the franchise is closing one behind the other. It appears they can't keep managers, either. Then when she did show up she said I don't want yall to wait any longer so I brought half your food. A lot could have been overlooked if she had at least stopped by once during the hour. Drink A+ I could taste the liquor but wasn't overwhelming Onion rings B I don't like really thick rings so these werent for me. I also had a hard time biting without pulling all the onion out. I did like that they were double or even tripled onions in each ring though, so you get some and give some. Baked chicken A . Good, had flavor and moist. I liked it. Not overpowering. Green beans A . Very tasty! .... and I liked the garlic seasoning. My friend had the oriental salad and she gives that an A. Side note, the dressing for the salad was REALLY REALLY good . Its like a Tangy Dijon mustard with a little kick. Definitely try that if you are into dipping. Came in with a larger group of 15 on a Monday night when it was not busy whatsoever. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated together and for menus. We ordered margaritas and they say the manager needs to check our IDs because we are all out of state visiting on our fall break. The manager proceeded to come back out and pass out our IDs individually. After that, he stated that he refused to serve us because he did not believe our IDs were real. My family has been coming to this Applebee's for many years. It has never been the greatest, but in an area with limited options, we tended to visit a few times a year. Today, my mother and I visited for the last time, limited options or not. When we walked in, it was just before 2pm. Before even introducing herself, our server informed us that she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown (she did look it, no offense) and still rattled from yesterday. OK, weird, overshare. We listened to her say it to every other table as well, awkwardly wanting to talk about her emotional state? We sat without water for a long period, and when it finally arrived, put our orders in: an appetizer, and a small order of chicken tenders. Well, we waited there an hour, watching tables turn over around us, including people who came in after us. I was feeling a bit confused and unhappy but I was hungry, so we continued to wait, feeling increasingly foolish and angry. When the food finally came out after 3pm, we requested boxes and the check, no longer wanting to sit there. Wrong boxes, obviously too small, no condiment containers. We chased down a different server who informed ours of the issue. New boxes, one condiment container when clearly two are needed. Check comes, my credit card sits on the check for ten minutes. At this point my mother had had enough, and so had I. The manager came over, cold and without introducing herself, and comped the check. A free meal is not what I was looking for. She made the excuse that the kitchen was short staffed. Sure, blame the kitchen. Funny that the food was cold. Pretty sure the kitchen makes food that's hot. I get that a place can have an off day, but our issue was service. The fact that the food was cold and pitiful was a secondary problem, though a problem nonetheless. Go to Ruby Tuesday if you're looking for this kind of food. It's only a couple hundred yards away. Terrible service. Terrible food. My steak was cooked rare and i asked for it to get cooked more. My server said, "your steak was cooked medium rare like you asked, but we will cook it more to make it a medium." My steak was still purple and cold... not to mention my onion strings were from last week. And my potatoes were cold. Just horrible. I and a fellow worker ordered the New Southwest Salad Bowls to go. "Curbside" There is no curbside I waited 10 minutes and had to go in and get my order at the bar. How is that Curbside. What's funny was another gentleman went in to get his food and needed help getting it to his car. An employee came out with him and saw me sitting in the Curbside parking space but did not return with my order. Why ask what car I drive, it obviously doesn't matter. The service is amazing but the food quality, and overall building is awful. The restaurant had a horrible stink, the booth had food caked on the headrest, dirt and crumbs on the seat, and crayon marks on the wall. The ceiling which I assume is supposed to be white had a permanent grey hue with black marks near the vents. Just simply disgusting. The chicken quesadillas were hard, over cooked, with little meat and were sent back. The sweet potatoes were good but salty. I have a few stories. The most important one I will tell is the story of the drunken waitress. I waltzed I'm not one week ago. It was not too busy. So why did it take 25 minutes to take a seat? By the time I was seated, a waitress came to take my order. Something was clearly wrong. She was swaying and slurring. Still under control I saw but a little on the drunk side still. I looked around. Did any of the other waiters and waitresses know? Anyways, she took my order and left... wobbled away. AN HOUR PASSED BY. Aaaaand she comes but not with our food. Wait it was. First off, it deserves a four, I used to go restaurants. Often. And the thing is, I always chose out of all of them to eat here. Not just because it was close, the price was great. Yes, I always eat from the two items for $20. I tell you, I never had a bad meal, and always left happy. I love the mashed potates, the steak, their riblets, and their timlyness, and manners. Very good staff. Uh, deserves a 4 at least because it does so much business, it's usually packed or not without customers. Tried to ignore the negative reviews and ate here anyway boneless wings came out quickly and were quite delicious but we sat in bar area due to no booths in larger area and it was very dark and rest of meal service very slow. Don't think it was the waiter but more on the kitchen and the burger was over cooked dry and hard and ribletts were tough. My family and I eat here all the time. It's one of the decent chain restraunts in the area and is usually well kept. I usually have slim to no problems with my food. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of management. They recently changed happy hour ending from 7pm to 6pm. Well when I came in and ordered my alcoholic drink (that was supposed to be half price) wasn't going to be half priced. What blew my mind is the waitress didn't even know!! It's not her fault at all, it's the managers. It's their duty to keep their entire wait staff informed on up and coming promotion changes. I tried to ask the manager if one, she could change the price half price, since it technically was her fault for not informing staff that I'm now paying full price for this drink with barely any alcohol in it... or two, could she take it off my bill. She refused to both since I "have obviously enjoyed my drink" when it was a frozen drink that had just been melting and I mixed in the whipped cream. I maybe took two sips out of it waiting for my friend to arrive. I do like Applebees and their wait staff, but wow these managers need a cleanup. They go through wait staff like crazy. read more

No one approached us for a full 15 minutes even for drinks. Finally used machine to call server and 10 min later no waitress. It was our first attempt since the new steak menu. I haven't been in a long time but thought it was worth the try. We left without ordering drinks or anything.
