I was down In the area to work for a couple of days and I don't like chain restaurants so I was recommended this place by someone that lives here. When I first walked in I thought to myself well this isn't something to brag about but we stayed and the waitress was friendly and our food took awhile to come out but the wait was definitely worth it. I got the pulled pork,coleslaw and home cut fries. Sounds average but the taste of everything was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely stop here for a delicious meal. read more

I ordered a margarita and I instantly got nostalgic. Mainly about the time I went into the bathroom at work and smelled the freshly changed urinal mints. That's what my margarita tasted like. Urinal mints. Life pro tip: don't make margaritas with Sprite. And that waitress: man I swear when I asked for a drink she looked at me like I was a gate guard at Dachau. All I wanted was a drink. A drink that didn't remind me of work. Or pee. I'm fairly certain the training program consists of lessons titled, "Executing a proper glare," "Eye rolls: the basics," and "Oh you wanted a drink? Tough shit." I want to block out this memory like an all-too-long spat of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of deranged foster parents, but sadly I don't think that's possible. We've been staying in the hotel across the street and we're craving some food that didn't have to be microwaved, so we found this place on google maps and decided to try it. We walked into the restaurant side first, then found the door for the bar area. The music was loud and there's smoking allowed, but the atmosphere was pretty awesome and a live band was setting up. Seems like they have live music every weekend, and there was an outside patio (we stayed in, it wass cold) but there was a large smoker or something and they made a fire in it. We ordered the seafood Sampler app and it was amazing! Totally delish. The wings left something to be desired, honestly I would not order those again. After hanging out for a bit and drinking (well-priced) beer, we split a large fried crab cakes platter. Options for sides were limited, ended up getting curly fries and Mac n cheese but again, really well made and great quality food, especially for sides that most places make ahead of time. Waitress was great, she knew her menu, knew the beers on tap, and checked in just enough to be polite but wasn't hovering. She was running around a lot too, constantly busy, but it was obvious she was pretty well organized and well-trained. Highly recommend to anyone passing through the area looking for a neat atmosphere and amazing seafood. Great if you've been living out of a hotel for a week and want cold beer and hot food. We are here because of CMTI so when we come back in March we will definitely be stopping in again. read more

If you're a smoker, here's an oasis in the desert! They have a great section for smokers in the back. Non smokers are seated in the front of the restaurant. The service is great and the food is fantastic. The smoking section has the bar atmosphere and there is a patio section out back. Ok. For breakfast. Nothing special over done sausage , under dome potatoes. Walked in for the first time , do I seat myself , wait to be seated? No sign , no one greeting us? Hauled down a waitress and asked her. She told us to be seated. A waitress took our order and she was super nice and attentive . We were in Gloucester for a family reunion, staying at a hotel not too far away. Since chik fil a is closed on Sundays (crazy!!!!) we decided to opt for a sit down meal and were told by the front Desk that Damon's was a good place to go. You seat yourself, and we were able to find a booth that was clean enough for our liking. It took a few minutes for the waitress to show up, but she was and extremely sweet brunette woman who made our experience much better than it could have been. The food came out very slow, we all got about 1.5 cups of coffee/tea down before it came but the waitress was very apologetic and explained that the evening cook was taking the place of the breakfast cook. When the food finally came it was pretty mediocre. I got the platter that came with almost everything. Eggs were just okay. They came with cheese although I'd asked for none. The bacon was okay, the ham was salty (in that good ham way!) and cooked perfectly, the pancake was not hot, but it was still good, the "home fries" were just deep fried pieces of potato that weren't very good, but the onions on top made them taste a little better. My favorite thing was the sausage, but I only got one with my dish. The runner/busboy came around and politely asked if we'd wanted more coffee often enough for it to be sweet and not at all annoying which was great. I wouldn't come back for all of the breakfast items, but the service was really lovely and that makes a world of a difference so I'd venture to try the lunch/dinner items if I came back. read more

Okay im not 100% sure if this is true but ill say this. Went on an empty stomach, i hadn't eaten all day. I went with my ex after work and got 2 jack and cokes, a crab dip and fry's. First time here. Average neighborhood bar with nice areas to hangout and converse. I ate my shrimp, drank a beer and left quicker than normal. Despite our food getting mixed up, the food and service here are great! They were short-staffed, but Shawn (sp?) are waitress didn't shortchange is service. She was amazing! With 7 of us walking in on a Saturday morning, we were seated pretty quickly. The service did take a bit of time, but with 2 servers working the floor, I was impressed. The food was delicious! Straight-to-the-point breakfast/brunch food, GREAT prices, and you get that old school diner feel. Definitely recommend this spot! read more

Can't review the food because when we walked in for lunch, no one even acknowledged our presence even though there was only one table of customers at the time. There were tables with breakfast food still on them (it was 1:00pm). After 5 mins of us wondering if we had walked in the right door, a lady who was sitting at a corner booth on a laptop (the manager???) looked up and said we could sit anywhere. We chose a table and then I went to the restroom. The soap container in the restroom had been watered down to the point there was really no soap left in it which made me wonder 1). What were the employees using to wash their hands? Hopefully there was a hand sink in the kitchen with real soap. 2). If they had to take that big of a short cut to not even have soap in the restroom what other short cuts were they taking? Aftee coming out of the restroom I told my husband to leave. We just moved to this area and were really hoping we couls find a good local "go to" place but this certainly isn't it. read more

Local hot spot Bar & Grill.. This is my go to spot for a hearty breakfast at a reasonable price on the weekends. Be advised breakfast on the weekends is usually pretty busy but well worth the wait for a table if you have to wait.. I have also had the Fried Chicken at lunch and it is the next best thing to Grandmas Fried Chicken.. In the warmer months we love to stop by on the motorcycle for a couple of beverages out on the shaded patio and if we're lucky we catch a band on the weekends as well.. read more

Great place. Stopped in to have a few apps and a beverage with a buddy after going to a local Chamber of Commerce meeting. The waitress suggested the house special of potato skins. Coming back from Urbanna and Deltaville, we decided to stop in. Didn't expect much since there was only one car out front. Walked in to a nearly empty dining room (1 table occupied) but noticed there was a door that lead to what was the bar side. This room was about 3/4 full with patrons at the bar, tables and booths. Had a seat and a waitress came over, took our drink order and asked if we wanted menus (we did). Looking over the menu, saw the usual pub-grub offering but also a pretty comprehensive list of steak and seafood entrees. I settled on the prime rib and my wife ordered crab legs and a baked potato. Salad was served promptly and the entree came out in a timely manner. Folks, this was the BEST prime rib I've had in years! Cooked rare and with a killer seasoning crust. My wife remarked that the crab legs were also excellent! I'd be over every weekend but 65 miles is a little far to go. Can't wait for business to take me back that way... read more
