Everything about my experience was pleasant! For my most recent appointment, I called the reception because I was running late due to traffic and they were understanding about my situation. They were still able to accommodate me even though I was ~10 minutes late. Very impressed with the gentle and skillful artistry of Lashelle today! I knew today was the day to tame the two unruly beasts on my face. I was a little nervous going in, wondering if I'd be asked what style I wanted when I know nothing of styles and or what looks good on me as opposed to others. Lashelle already knew. He seemed to be able to examine me with a mathematical precision and a sculptor's eye. He knew what would suit my look best and carefully crafted them to perfection. I couldn't watch him in action, but I felt as though if I was watching, it really would be watching a meticulous, skillful art. It was also not painful at all, more relaxing and meditative actually. When I looked in the mirror afterwards, even before the fill-in part, I could already see a dramatically improved difference. Clean cut, refined brows that still looked natural and well-suited. Lashelle showed me how to use the color very lightly to fill them in and I now feel more motivated trying that out on my own later. Weee I feel more confident now and may even join in on some group pictures with friends this weekend without feeling too self conscious this time! I have pretty easy to manage eyebrows and they have never looked worse in my life. They left on all of the hair under my arch and just filled it in with a pencil, I looked like a grandfather. Everything was just super uneven and ugly I'm shocked their prices are this high. After trying to explain the that I wanted and realizing that they weren't going to get it I went to the rite aid down the street, bought some tweezers and just did it myself. Let me begin this review by stating a few things. 1) I am the pickiest girl EVER when it comes to brows. I think they literally make or break your face. My self esteem is majorly dependent on two things: whether or not my skin looks good, and if my brows are in good shape. Everything else...whatever. 2) I have been to every reputable brow place in greater Los Angeles. I've bargain hunted and I've majorly splurged. I've seen Tonya Crooks (Megan Fox's brow woman), Anastasia herself (as well as several of her girls), nail salon back rooms (mostly when I first started getting my brows done), expensive boutique spas, you name it. And I'll be honest...most of the above were not really worth it and didn't especially wow me. I'm telling you, I am PICKY. 3) I'm forever getting complimented on my brows, so I must be doing something right! I first saw Damone when I was a senior in high school several years ago, for my senior portrait. My mom decided it was worth the splurge and generously allowed me to experience Damon's magic. It was probably the best brow wax I've had, but it was the only time I've seen him to date. Being a college girl now, he's just a little too expensive (but still very much worth it if you have the cash!). ...so I decided to see one of his girls, Angelina. She is the QUEEN of brow sculpting. For real. Whenever I walk out of the studio after seeing her, I'm in the same league as a celebrity (okay, maybe only in the brow region, but still!). She completely knows how to flatter my face (perfect thickness and arch, as well as symmetry). Please refer to my current Yelp profile picture to see what I'm saying. The woman has some magic fingers. I get so many compliments because of her. She's truly worth every penny, and I can't sing her enough praises. A wise woman once told me that if you want to look your best, you should have the best help. I'm certainly not calling the employees here help, they are eyebrow artists to the angels of Los Angeles. I drive all the way to Beverly Hills at rush hour and pay a ridiculous price, plus tip, plus valet because the way I look doesn't have a price tag and because it's worth every penny. I get mine done with Damone and he has changed my look dramatically. I look at pictures of myself a few years back and notice a HUGE difference. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and this place is a perfect example. If you want an expert who has been doing this and only this for the past 13 years and serves clients like Britney, Madonna, Beyonce, Channing Tatum, the list goes on, you have to pay for it. Damone is the best of the best of the best. I used to go to Anastsia for years, but after numerous unhappy experiences, last year I made the switch and OMFG am I glad I did. Damone is hands down the best brow ARTIST in the world. He is just that, truly an artists, and will absolutely transform your face without you needing to pencil, fill or draw in any extra parts of your brows. I have also seen Angelina here, who I def recommend as well (she is $40, Damone is $80) but after seeing Damone once I will never see anyone else and seriously think it's worth the extra 40 to get your brows transformed by the master. His products are also unreal and WAYYYYY better than any of his "competitors." I own almost everything from his line and seriously swear by it. Brows make or break your face.... trust. This is where getting gorgeous begins. May I also say that Philip at the front desk is one of the most sweet, accommodating, bubbly and lovely people I have ever met. He clearly loves his job, gives incredible customer service and I legit get excited for my appointments each month so I can chat with him.
