Brought our car in for service and the quoted price was beyond ridiculous. (We can have the work done for free in Davenport IA, but had they been reasonable we would have it done here). We also thought about trading it in. Nah, they don't need to sell vehicles. I saw a review from 2019 stating the lack of customer service. It hasn't improved!! After a terrible expirence with another dealer in Atlanta Georgia, I thought I found a better one with Dan Deery Motors and apparently I was wrong. Bought the truck and parked for the first few weeks knowing I really didn't need to use it. Planning on a trip to Utah at the beginning of April figured I'd better put some miles on and make sure nothing pops up. First few trips no issues and was going to put my 5th wheel hitch in to pull my enclosed trailer and the gooseneck ball was siezed in the truck after a few attempts to get it out, I got under the truck and realized the the rear wheel seal were leaking terribly and had covered the entire bottom side of the truck in gear oil. Know the Dan Deery's service department had done the rear rotors before I purchased the truck it made me questions if the seals in the hubs were done when the rotors were changed. For those who don't know you have to remove the hub to replace the rotor on these trucks. Any GOOD and HONEST mechanic or shop with a lick of good sense replaces these seals whenever you remove these hubs. Called on Monday talked to Dylan Deery on was told the seals would most likey not be covered under their 3 month 3000 mile warranty. As a technician with 8 years in the automotive field professionally and certifications through the CVTC Technical School and various certifications through General Motors including specializing in diesel trucks, I had no real interest in paying a shop to do these seals. Pulled the hubs on the truck and it did not show signs on the seals being changed and when refilling the fluid found I had to add 3 qts of gear oil in a system that only holds 4.5qts. Called and talked to Dylan again and asked if they have record of the fluid being checked during the safety inspection.... He did not know if they checked fluids during a safety inspection!!!!!! Shit like this is mind blowing as a technician and shows either a lack of understanding or just not caring in the industry they are in. He said he would talk to his service advisor and get back to me. I recieved a voicemail while at work and was told they do not pull the differential covers and check the differentials during a safety inspection.... cool most shops don't..... and in the voicemail let me know that oil leaks on something with 99,000 miles is normal and also that " I GOT A PRETTY GOOD DEAL ON THE TRUCK AND SHOULD BE HAPPY" got that voicemail saved. Returned his phone call and for lack of a better way to say it got the run around. Highlights are as follows: Told again I got a good deal on the truck If im a technician how come i didnt catch it on the lot before i bought it we dont know if you installed the parts properly you kinda sound like you may know what are talking about but we dont know for sure Still could not get a straight answer if the truck at any point and time had record of the differential fluid being checked. Wrote this phone call off as one of worst I have ever particpated in. Jump forward to this Friday go to drive my truck and get a code P2453 differential pressure sensor circuit a perfomance. Truck goes from completely fine to saying to DPF is plugged see dealer ( I'd rather not). Have a sensor ordered and hopefully this is and easy fix but is possible the DPF is plugged and is $1750 to replace. But just in case you are wondering the Dan Deery 3 month 3000 mile used car warranty does not cover emissions systems.... like im really surprised at this point. As a technician this sucks its annoying and I'm pissed off in general. Already looking into the possibility of cancelling this trip to Utah because I'm not sure I trust the truck. Looking through other reviews this I'm not the only one and I would really 2nd guess doing buisness here. After this gets posted their will be an automated message saying please call us and let us know how we can make this right.. blah blah blah. You have my number call me if you want to make it right because this truck I got a good deal on sat on your lot for 4 months and had shotty half ass work done to it by a dealership that is trying to cut corners to save a buck. read more

This was a while back - but it still bothers me. I had called about a Jeep Grand Cherokee and made an appointment to view. It was the exact color, mileage, package, etc. I wanted so I was willing to drive 3 hours to purchase. I had a 2020 GMC Acadia Denali to trade with under 35,000 miles. I am a teacher and only have two personal days a year available to take off- and I had to take one of my personal days. I called before leaving and told them I was leaving Cherokee. The salesman called me and double-checked my appointment 30 minutes later. When I was about to Waterloo I called to get directions, and they had sold the Jeep. I was promised I would be reimbursed for my gas. They took my name, address, etc. Two different sales people called me a total of four times within my drive home trying to convince me I should turn around because they had several Jeeps available...different models, more miles, etc. When I told them I wasn't interested in a Jeep Liberty - no matter how nice, the salesmen was rude and condescending. Just purchased a Jeep Gladiator from Dan Deery. Was I really looking to do this now but I had submitted a inquiry about one and was contacted promptly by Jesse. When I got there Cody was my salesman and it was great working with him since he drove one himself. He was able to answer all my questions and deal with my one year old as well while helping me decide what I was going to do. I then left had them run numbers so I could pick up my daughter and wife and get back up there later on. They worked with us very well and included the kiddos and made them comfortable because we all know buying a car can drive one crazy while including kids. With us leaving to late we couldn't get the proper detail so they came and picked up the Jeep the next day at my place of work and took it back to get it all detailed and ceramic coated. I've used the Mopar Express Lane many times at this location, never had a problem- stop in without an appointment- get in right away for an oil change. The last 3 times I've stopped in they are "backed up" with too many other appointments ahead of me. I asked if the Express Lane service is still offered, they said yes- but all appointments come first. Their website clearly indicates that "Whether you need an oil change service or a tire rotation service, we can get the job done in minutes and get you going." and "We can provide you with express service without an appointment." and finally "we will do what it takes to provide you with fast service and get you going." Clearly, the website is offering a service you cannot provide. If that is the case- stop wasting my time. read more

Called Kruger Auto in Waverly Iowa and $0 added to a new TRX RAM Truck. I went to UNI 25 years ago and Dan Deery had an "iffy" reputation then and I see they have not changed at all! Salesmen lied about what was new and fixed on car. When got home did deep cleaning and found drug paraphernalia. Selling points were untrue. Sold warranty that wasn't for my make of car. When called regarding these issues General Manage very, very rude. Sold tires on car as brand new, less then a year later all tires had week spots and holes down to the steal. Not sure why they have a 5 star rating. I would ensure the ratings are legit by going to https://www.fakespot.com/. I purchased a high end vehicle with cost being north on 70K. Dealer had first quote me a price and later change it to a higher amount after the vehicle was delivered to their business and seeing the condition. Dealer would not honor the original quote nor help with anything including shipping. I had asked the dealer if they could do anything, they said no, someone else will buy it. I decided to purchase the vehicle as it was one I was looking for and had a mobile mechanic check it by performing a test drive and providing picture as this was a online site unseen purchase. I did notice that it was missing a drivers side floor mat with the vehicle make and model emblems. I asked if they could at least provide floor mats from Dodge which is what they were, a Dodge dealer. They said they would order them for me. Fast ward 2 weeks later after the car arrived, I notice they only provided one floor mat that was a cheap Walmart brand and did not match the OEM Dodge floor mat from the passenger side. When I called and asked them what happened to the mat they had ordered and stated that was the one they ordered and if I would one that would match I would have to order from them. They quoted me twice the amount I could find them from OEM manufactures. I realize I am a one time customer, but still should I not get some loyalty, especially giving the dollar amount spent. Responded quickly to my inquiry from internet sales, but that is where the customer service stops. Salesman advised my vehicle was priced for trade in by his manager who used NADA, hence the reason my comparison to Kelly Blue Book was not in the ball park. Review of NADA showed it to be similar to NADA so I asked to talk to Chris the manager. Chris of course changed the story to they don't use NADA but some other program for pricing used cars for trade in, that the public does not have access to. So I guess we are supposed to trust him even after seeing my same make and model for sale 20% higher on the internet. So I looked up the vehicle they were selling and I was interested in buying, they were 25% higher than KBB or NADA. After reading other Yelp reviews, I guess I am not surprised. My father was a Ford Dealer when he got out of WWII. I am sorry to say the honesty in dealerships passed when he did. read more

Not sure they cared about my welbeing. On 4/19/19 I brought my vehicle here to have the back right tire inspected, since this is where I purchased them from, and was told that I had a nail in it and that Tires Plus could fix it or I could order a new one. Well come to find out, the tire could not only not be fixed, it was unsafe to drive. Due to the placement of the nail it was impossible. This was not the only issue with this experience. First I talked to the advisor as the second counsel, told him what the issue was with the vehicle and why I was bringing it in. I then an hour later received a call stating that they did not know why I brought my vehicle in and did I talk to anyone about it. Then two hours later I was told there was nothing that could be done about it. I did take my vehicle to Discount Tires on Saturday which is when I found out that the tire was unsafe to drive. That where the nail was located it was not even safe to be driven. So glad they told me this information, but why was I not told at the place where I purchased the vehicle, purchased the tires, and have taken my business concerning this vehicle for years? Incompetent and dishonest. My Dad bought a vehicle, a used one only a year old, when he went to pick it the battery was completely discharged, with the electronic door locks it had to be broken into then jump started. A piece of the "standard equipment" that came from the manufacturer had been removed AFTER the "Sold As Is" document had been signed. They still are unable to locate the second electronic key set even with the VIN number on it. BUYER BEWARE! read more
