I had been to 13 car dealerships, yes 13, before finding Palisades Auto. When I called (to inquire if the particular car that I was looking for) was still available, I was greeted with professionalism and I set up an appointment time. When I arrived, the car was ready for test drive and cleaned up for me. This was amazing to me. I think I had lowered my standard due to the disappointing experiences I was having, but the GM met the expectation that I always had, but was not receiving. Gunther is the General Manager here, and the person I dealt with, and from start to finish, he was prompt, reliable, professional and honest. Gunther did not give me a hard push for the sale as the other dealerships did, nor did he require that I had to lock in a deposit as other dealerships did...if I was interested in the car. I decided that I wanted the car and that I was going to have my mechanic inspect it. He was open to the idea, and also gave me the information in full detail of the car fax and work that had already been done on the car. My mechanic called out a few minor things that Gunther took care of right away, took photos immediately and sent them to me. How amazing is that! I ended up buying the car. When I arrived to pick it up, the car was shining brightly, had a full tank of gas, and Gunther showed my son how to set up the tech stuff. He stayed in touch when the plates came in, and made sure all was sent in a timely manner. The best GM and dealership in my opinion throughout the NJ, NY area. Less than a year after purchase, the check engine light came on, and after several visits, I was told there was carbon buildup on the intake valves -- a well-known issue in VW engines. What makes this worse is that when I first brought the car in, they cleared the warning light without doing any real repair, and told me everything was fine. The light came back the very next day. Then, instead of honoring their warranty or taking responsibility, they quoted me $1,400 + tax for a repair that should have been addressed during the warranty period. Communication with their staff was frustrating and inconsistent. Every time I tried to get straight answers, I got different excuses. The dealership seems more interested in pushing sales than standing behind the vehicles they sell. I've already filed a complaint with Volkswagen of America and the BBB because customers deserve honesty, not avoidance and blame-shifting. If you value transparency, accountability, and integrity -- please avoid this dealership. They treat customers like a problem, not a priority.

I asked them how much it would it be to replace all brake rotors and brake pads, which I purchased a couple months back from Land Rover Dealership. The guy stated "WHY WOULD YOU BUY THE PARTS, WHO BUYS PARTS AND WANTS TO GET THEM INSTALLED" which clear indicator that they want to rip you off with labor and parts. It's just brakes and rotors!!
