Fortunately, I followed AMMO NYC on YouTube and discovered that he was greatly impressed by and spoke highly of J&B BODYWORKS' expertise, well-equipped facility, significant attention to detail and overall care. I met with Joe Izzo (an owner) and his son Mike and they immediately assured me that my car would be treated as well as the Ferraris, Bentleys, Lamborghinis and other high-end cars that this shop is uniquely certified to repair by the manufacturers. Joe also went above and beyond in working closely with my insurance company adjuster to ensure that the needed repairs were covered within the insurance company's limitations and avoided the car being 'totaled' due to its age and the extent of the damage. Lastly, the J&B BODYWORKS Team went above and beyond by making some minor repairs that most people would not notice, except anal people like me. Fine--that's their choice. I already have a better shop and is replacing my engine they maybe thought I was broke or who knows but anyway way the real issue is that after leaving my car, several of my personal belongings disappeared. Guest what they did, they left my car in the street for a few days without any consent or like if my money isn't worth anything. I lost two toolboxes worth over $500, Ray-Ban sunglasses ($200), my EZ Pass, charging cables/adapters, perfume, clothes from my backpack, also a head unit that was in green box and more. On top of that, I paid their diagnostic fee (which I don't mind since that's part of their job), but when it comes to my missing belongings, I'm the one who takes the loss. It's been 3 days and I still haven't gotten a single answer or resolution from the shop. Items don't just vanish into thin air. The worst part is the complete lack of responsibility or concern from their side. The reviews may make this place look like a trustworthy shop and that's the reason I came here for, but my experience was the opposite. My car window was completed shattered by a thief in my neighborhood (Mayor Blasio, you should be ashamed to tell twitter about reduced crime rates). I called almost a dozen shops; Jim answered the phone with a price and told me that the repair could be done on the same day. When I arrived, I noted that the shops are manned by group of seasoned staff who talked straight. The waiting room was spacious and the staff who installed the window cleaned the window (wiped the edges several times) before fitting the glass into a space holder (a rubber frame) then putting the whole set back on to my car. The whole process took approximately 40 min. which is exact what I expected (when in double, google it). I paid what I was quoted over the phone. One day after the repair, I received a follow up text from the store just to make sure that everything is fine. It is a very nice touch in customer service, reflecting the pride and honor of the owner as well as management. As I drove away, another customer who had the same window problem came. I hope those who read this review would never ever need to replace his or her car windows due to theft or accident. If you ever do, I recommend this auto shop.
