I hired Miguel to paint a small alcove in my San Francisco apartment (about 7 x 5 ft). After an…read moreinitial site visit and quote ($900), communication became very difficult--texts went unanswered and he even canceled once because he mixed up the job date. I had changed the color from white to a blue-green and texted him the exact flat and satin finishes. He confirmed twice that he had the correct paint, but on the day of service arrived with white instead. He then went to buy the right color, and his son and another worker did the painting. Unfortunately, the first job was poor: uneven coverage on each wall, holes and trim hooks left unpatched, light ceiling coverage, messy edges, and paint spots on the floor. They also didn't leave the paint cans behind. Miguel wasn't present, even at the end to look it all over. When I contacted him a few days later, he agreed to fix it and returned a week later with the crew. They repainted the whole alcove, and the result the second time was satisfactory. While I appreciate that he came back and corrected the work, the overall experience--miscommunication, bringing the wrong paint, poor initial workmanship, and the delay it caused--means I wouldn't hire this company again.

Peter and his team did an excellent job on the exterior painting of our house and garage. They were…read moreextremely thorough and very detailed. They spent a good amount of time prepping, taping, and covering windows to make sure the job was done neatly. They also sanded peeling/chipped paint and patched holes in the stucco. They were respectful of our property and also our neighbors' property that they needed to access to paint the side of our house. Peter is very knowledgeable about paint brands, colors, and finishes. He had helpful recommendations for things we hadn't even considered, like painting the porch floor a lighter color to contrast the darker walls so it didn't feel like a dark cave and selecting a flat finish to avoid highlighting places where the stucco was patched. We hadn't picked all the paint colors before the job started and Peter stopped by on his day off on the weekend to share samples of paint colors that he obtained for us from the store. We really wanted a bright color for our door and even though it required many coats, Peter was willing to do the extra work to make the bright yellow look good. Peter was heavily involved in both overseeing his team and in doing a lot of the work himself. Every morning he met with his crew and gave very detailed instructions on exactly how he wanted everything done. He was on site for the entire job making sure everything was done properly. When they finished the work they did a good job cleaning up. Peter and the team were extremely responsible, honest, and very talented. The cost was reasonable considering the high quality of the work and craftsmanship. We were so impressed by the Final Coat Painting team that we highly recommend them to friends and would hire them again for future jobs!

He smoothed over patchily repaired drywall, sanded down closet doors that were caked with splotchy layers by previous painters, and was so responsive and respectful of my mom who was in and out of the house during the process. There are times when you find folks who truly value and love their work, and you can see it in every inch of the result. Their time is worth every single penny. Peter is this for painting. I'm so glad that Peter seems to have a good flow of customers -- it's absolutely deserved. If we ever need painting for our own home, I'll gladly wait any amount of time it takes to hire Peter and his team again. It's more than worth it.

I am very…read morehappy that I chose Saber Roofing for plenty of reasons. 1) The owner, Ryan, met with me to discuss the work and was very thorough and helpful in answering all my questions. 2) Important details were covered including adding a rain chain in a location where a downspout would have been unsightly (picture attached). Among the details, the rain chain is made of copper while the gutter is made of aluminum. Having these two metals come in contact could compromise the aluminum over time. So, Saber installed the copper rain chain with a protective barrier. 3) Their client service and sales director, Jake, was super helpful and extremely responsive to all my questions. 4) The crew was very efficient, provided high quality workmanship, and left the site spotless. 5) The gutter guards that were installed provide a really fine barrier to prevent even small debris from entering my gutters, but are easy to rinse so that fine particles can be washed through the gutters. 6) The two downspouts that were installed were matched to the color of our trim. Other companies offer limited colors or simply white downspouts, but Saber offers a wide variety. 7) Their pricing is very competitive. From end to end, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Saber Roofing.

Saber Roofing's was the highest bid because they noted that the original cedar shake roof from 1920 was still there. My exposure to CAWC's work is indirect in the way that I have worked in a project that CAWC…read morere-coated, but more importantly, I am a unit owner in an HOA that CAWC was contracted to recoat and waterproof. My review is mainly based on the latter project, during which I also met one of the co-owners (Roy), as I was the project chair for some of the work performed on the community. The project was managed by Casey from Ferrari-Moe LLP. Bottom line is that CAWC's attention to detail is lacking big time. It may be that the waterproofing work they perform is long lasting (only time can tell), but the paint work they perform is underaverage. More importantly, they cause their own problems in a way that they mess up freshly painted surfaces, which means, it is better than before, but less than average work in the end. In addition, keeping schedule is not their strong suit, either, while I cannot speak to their budget keeping, since I was not involved in the budgeting of the project or work. Speaking to the co-owner (Roy) on more than one occassion, it is clear that he is interested in big projects and "keeping the assembly line running". Blemishes (minor or not so) are put on a "punch list", which grows quickly, but is not tackled swiftly, while there will be a lot of argueing over each item. In this context, employing Ferrari-Moe to manage this project did not seem to help, either. If you are a private property owner, I recommend looking for a different company to waterproof your house, assuming you care for your home. I am looking at CAWC's work every time I leave my unit now and I am reminded every time that I would not have called them to work on my house.
