I never felt rushed in the process and he and the administrative team were very accommodating throughout. The team that came out to do the work arrived on time and were very efficient. The senior foreman, Humberto, did a great job communicating every step along the way. He and his team, Andrew and Orlando, were all very professional and were careful to minimize any disruption. When the work was complete, Humberto provided a very thorough summary of the work completed. All in all, I feel very confident with the work performed and would highly recommend them for any foundation repair.

This is an exceptionally well-managed company, and every step of the process was handled professionally and efficiently. We obtained three bids, and Foundation Solutions was by far the easiest and most competent company to work with. They were willing to work with us on their proposal, and throughout the entire project they demonstrated honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. They use Ram Jack which was minimally invasive. They truly run their organization like a well-oiled machine. Our project manager, Brett Everling, was excellent. He kept us informed every step of the way, from the project planning to the city permits and construction schedule. Communication was outstanding, and everything proceeded exactly as promised (and even a little ahead of schedule). For a project of this size and complexity, it's remarkable that everything went so smoothly. The Foundation Solutions crew was punctual, hardworking, and incredibly diligent. They hand-dug the excavation areas, which was no small task, and they treated the property with care. The amount of concrete that needed to be removed was kept to a minimum, and the concrete repairs afterward were done nicely. We did have one issue with the sprinkler system after it was reassembled, but Foundation Solutions responded quickly and resolved it without hesitation. That level of customer service reinforced that we had chosen the right company.

Ramon was SUPER communicative and responsive, gave reasonable timeline expectations that he met or exceeded, and provided clear explanations for what he and his crew were doing. Ramon checked in with me at different points in the installation to give me the chance to see the work in progress, point out factors impacting the installation process (e.g., removal of tree roots), and did a thorough walkthrough afterwards and provided me with the post-work elevations for documentation. Wore shoe coverings in the house and laid out work paper to avoid tracking dust/dirt. Ramon also pointed out that they did not end up needing to do some work that was in the original estimate and so put in a change order to reduce my invoice / get a refund. OVERALL: Glad this team was working on my house. Communicative, responsive, clear, honest.

Foundation Repair of CA (FRC) is the most disreputable, dishonest company I've ever encountered. I…read morehired them because I didn't want to hire the lowest bidder for a change, and I regret it. I wouldn't sign the contract when told I'd have to do my own masonry repair until sales agent Jesse Marquez showed me FRC corporate material that indicated the brick facade would be removed with a masonry saw, in an approximate 2x2' square. That was false and deceptive advertising. This is what they did to my house. No masonry saw was used, only impact drills, which act as small jackhammers. FRC significantly damaged the entire brick facade, adjacent areas showed extensive cracking, entire areas had the brick facade knocked completely off the house, and the wall foundation was separated from the brick wall entirely. I told the work crew, headed by Luis, to stop using impact wrenches on the bricks immediately, then told them TWICE. Not only did they not stop, despite direct STOP work orders, they then took all of the bricks they'd destroyed, which legally is theft, called conveyance. Jesse Marquez explained that the bricks were so old they'd shattered. Luis returned the bricks after Jesse Marquez called, ignoring my several phone calls and texts. Jesse texted that the bricks were so old they'd shattered. Luis returned them, none were shattered, all were broken by the impact drills. Luis confirmed, texting that the bricks were "broken". They took the bricks to hide the damage. The day FRC received my Contractor's State Licensing Board complaint, FRC messaged that someone would come to assess the damage for repairs, and FRC would repair the masonry they'd destroyed. They first sent Robert Pagan, who acknowledged both that there were no masonry saw marks, and that the damage was excessive. According to FRC, Jesse stated Robert hadn't said this. It wasn't until I pointed out he'd said it while standing in front of a Ring camera did that lie die. FRC then sent Troy Knight, who acknowledged the same, and stated he was there to help, and would see that the masonry was repaired and more. I have several texts, voicemails and emails from FRC stating they will complete the job. They never did. FRC employee Mike Crites was sent to perform the repairs. He returned the following week with the wrong sized bricks in the wrong color, and proceeded to do more damage. This is the work that they did. FRC employee Mike Crites initially stated that he had retired as a mason, he later revised that statement, saying he'd only worked with pavers and concrete. The work performed was so substandard, FRC sent Jovincio, who was the only honest person in my entire dealings with FRC. Jovencio said he wasn't a mason, but had "some training". Jovencio replaced the work done by Mike Crites. This is Mike's effort, and Jovincio's replacement work. The work performed is clearly substandard and unacceptable. FRC acknowledged the workers sent lacked the skills, training and necessary certifications to perform masonry repairs. When I requested that FRC send a mason, and included photos of the work, FRC responded that they'd done me a favor; the workers sent were a courtesy. The very clause they'd ignored (and invalidated) by removing the bricks was cited. That they would do no more, leaving me with the bill for their damage. This is what they left. I obtained a second quote to repair the deficient masonry 'work' FRC workers had done - without a REQUIRED permit, with no mortar pins, odd-sized and broken bricks mortared in randomly, mortar lines that range from non-existent to more than an inch. Crites' also removed the brick facade foundation in several sections, replacing it with sloppy concrete. This is a code-violating 'repair' that is neither plumb nor square. The legitimate mason company from whom I obtained a repair quote updated the quote, which has nearly doubled BECAUSE of the 'repairs' performed by the unqualified FRC employees. FRC called this doing me a favor, saying the inept crew was sent as a 'courtesy'. This is not doing me a favor, this is not a courtesy, this is at best fraud. After signing the contract (under false pretenses), Jesse insisted I needed an additional pier ($3,155) because piers can no longer be placed under a window. A pier was placed under the window. Two other piers were not placed according to the county approved structural engineering ($1,850) diagram. Half the piers were installed in the wrong places, apparently according to Luis' whims. Yesterday Groundworks gave an estimate on properly placing those piers. That's how I learned that the improperly placed piers had lifted a joist completely off its foundation supports. This, too, will require additional expense to correct, before it damages my house - literally to the roof. I should have stuck with Groundworks. This is your cautionary tale - no one who values integrity, ESPECIALLY senior women, shouldn't hire FRC.

Jose designed and fixed the area in a way that properly blocks the water and also looks very nice, clean, and professional. On the last day of the cleanup, they cleaned everything very well. Junior is very friendly, and just like Jose, he is very helpful. Jose is not only experienced in concrete work -- he also has experience handling many different types of issues. He is very patient in answering questions and clearly explains what he is doing and why it is done. I truly appreciate their hard work, and I will definitely work with them again in the future.

Our…read moreold concrete slabs were cracked, and had shifted, altering the drainage of water to flow towards our house. After interviewing many landscape pavers, Ideal Engineering stood out for being prompt to all the meetings, willing to visit multiple times to double-check measurements before bidding and were knowledgeable on the current state of available inventory and which showrooms to visit to preview them. Prices were very reasonable and transparent. There were no unplanned mark-ups and all change orders were reviewed and had to be approved by me in advance, so I could budget accordingly. I think this is an advantage of choosing a local paver. The work was efficient and professional - different specialized crews for demolition, irrigation, paving, cleanup were used with their own knowledgeable foremen. Each foremen acted as an available point of contact and communication was easy and friendly. Any texts or calls were usually returned within minutes. The teams were proactive in highlighting any complications or issues that might require design approval to make sure the work they did matched what I had in mind. For example, Pedro, the paver lead felt it was better to create a smooth curve at a corner instead of a straight 90 degree corner, and he was right! The boundaries flowed smoother and nicer with the lawn. The paving work was top-notch. We had decided to install premium pavers from Belgard, and it was important the work was done properly for such an investment. This included grading at the proper slopes for proper drainage, adding weed-resistant fabric, multiple levels of graded stone for proper leveling and polymeric sand for good sealing between pavers. The team helped build custom steps that looked very nice to create easy step-downs and paver edging was done with great style and aesthetics. For a potentially complicated project, I really felt confidence in the team and the process. David also helped offer advise in helping me move and reset our external heat pump units so that they could be reinstalled on top of the pavers. They were able to build conduits to facilitate running irrigation and electricity underneath the pavers for adding drip irrigation of containers and future lighting in our garden. Cleanup was thorough, with parts of our yard reseeded and topped with new topsoil. There was no construction debris left on our lawn or streetside. Everything was swept up. Fence gates that were temporarily removed were re-installed to appear as if nothing ever happened. I would definitely use Ideal Engineering (Ideal Landscape & Concrete) again for future projects.

But again this is no fault of Ben, Ben did an amazing job on my wheels I even had some curb rash damage and it seems like he went above and beyond to correct it because I can't feel the damage anymore on the wheel not sure if he uses some sort of filler before coating but man the wheels look AMAZING!!! My exposure to CAWC's work is indirect in the way that I have worked in a project that CAWC…read morere-coated, but more importantly, I am a unit owner in an HOA that CAWC was contracted to recoat and waterproof. My review is mainly based on the latter project, during which I also met one of the co-owners (Roy), as I was the project chair for some of the work performed on the community. The project was managed by Casey from Ferrari-Moe LLP. Bottom line is that CAWC's attention to detail is lacking big time. It may be that the waterproofing work they perform is long lasting (only time can tell), but the paint work they perform is underaverage. More importantly, they cause their own problems in a way that they mess up freshly painted surfaces, which means, it is better than before, but less than average work in the end. In addition, keeping schedule is not their strong suit, either, while I cannot speak to their budget keeping, since I was not involved in the budgeting of the project or work. Speaking to the co-owner (Roy) on more than one occassion, it is clear that he is interested in big projects and "keeping the assembly line running". Blemishes (minor or not so) are put on a "punch list", which grows quickly, but is not tackled swiftly, while there will be a lot of argueing over each item. In this context, employing Ferrari-Moe to manage this project did not seem to help, either. If you are a private property owner, I recommend looking for a different company to waterproof your house, assuming you care for your home. I am looking at CAWC's work every time I leave my unit now and I am reminded every time that I would not have called them to work on my house.

Carlos, on the other hand, felt that most of my existing wood was ok and suggested that we just replace pieces as needed, and also make repairs to the foundation as needed. His approach seemed reasonable to me and much more cost effective. I also told him I had a very tight timeline because I needed to have the deck ready for an upcoming party. Carlos and he team started right away and with minimal input needed from me throughout the project, it was completed very quickly - on time and on budget. I'd alway recommend that people check with several companies before selecting a vendor, but if you are looking to repair or replace your deck, make sure your first call is to Carlos at Total Wood Preservation!

I can't say enough good things about Peace of Mind! We recently had them complete a home foundation repair and seismic retrofitting project for us, and their work was exceptional in every way. First of all, their communication was top-notch. They kept us in the loop every step of the way, making sure we knew exactly what was happening and when. Last summer (2014) Rene did an inspection on a home that I helped by Son eventually purchase. After purchase, I contracted with Rene to perform recommended structural foundation repairs: repair cracks, support post improvement, foundation underpinning pads, floor joist improvement, porch improvement, tree root removal, and crawl space debris cleanup. Rene recommended an arborist and structural engineer, who I also contracted with. I further contracted to perform earthquake retrofit to include foundation anchors, framing connectors, plywood bracing, and framing connectors. I liked their work, so I had him do earthquake retrofit on my home. This year (2015) I contracted with Rene to replace part of my driveway, sidewalk, and pavers due to tree root damage. This included working with the City timeline for tree removal, stump grinding, and sidewalk permit. For all three jobs Rene and his Team were courteous and thorough. They kept the work space clean and safe, met their contracted schedule and cost with no surprises, and were flexible with City interactions and inspections. I had a wonderful experience with Peace of Mind Structural. They handled a seismic retrofit, foundation repair (replacing some posts and piers), and a sump pump installation in the crawlspace. Their expertise and professionalism were evident, which is crucial when dealing with foundation work. They demonstrated their commitment to quality and never cut corners. Several years ago, Peace of Mind assessed my home for seismic safety. I was exceedingly happy with the quality of their service and honesty. They said the house was solid and did not require any specific retrofitting. For my own peace of mind, I elected to have them do some optional retrofitting. The quality of the work was excellent and the price fair. I called them back a few weeks ago because I'd been told during a termite inspection that there was a crack in the foundation. René and Brandon came out to take a look. Once again, there service was excellent. They did not find any damage. Once again, I very much appreciate their honesty. I contracted with Peace of Mind Structural for work under the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program, after I won a cashback under the State Lottery Program. Brandon Blasing and Caroline Blasing were both efficient, and a pleasure to work with. The only unexpected expense was $467.00 for a building permit. I was given a proposal (contract), and all terms of the contract were observed. The crew that performed the work did a good job, and Peace of Mind took care of all the paperwork required by the state. (Note however that they provide a rough initial emailed estimate based on house info like sq footage- for an in person inspection there is a fee, but it is credited towards the final cost if you go with them. They do an extra thorough inspection and provide full documentation so in my experience it is worth it even if you don't go with them.) Other free inspection contractors by contrast ran through quickly and provided few to little details on the actual reinforcement plan. My crawlspace had a section of perimeter foundation that was blocked by concrete and required drilling a hole to properly reinforce- none of the other contractors noted this. Avant Garde not only noticed this but also did not charge extra for it. After the work they worked quickly with us on the documentation to get us our grant check. I did crawl the crawlspace just to inspect the work and it was done neatly and the area was left clean. Very happy with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend.

SF Bay sent over one of their engineers whom I found to be extremely knowledgeable and presented us with options on how best to deal with the situation. We were so impressed that we hired them when it was time to do a large addition and remodel to the house. Marcus, the business owner, is an experienced engineer who really knows his trade. During the design process he worked hard to accommodate my "wish lists" that I kept adding to (yikes!). At the same time, he advised me on things I should consider in order to keep costs down. I always felt he had my interests at heart, while at the same time he was doing what was necessary to meet codes, so we could avoid problems during construction and inspections. While engineers and architects seem to be really busy these days, SF Bay's turnaround time is reasonable, and when you need something in a hurry, they try their best to accommodate. This is a top notch engineering company that charges modest and fair pricing for doing excellent work. If you are lucky enough to come across them, don't hesitate, just hire them and you will be glad you did.

When I probed them with what the evaluation involved (such as mapping floor levelness) and whether they were independent without financial ties to contractors, I learned they don't map floor levelness. They didn't answer the bulk of my questions, and they ended stating they don't have the bandwidth to take on my project.

I never felt rushed in the process and he and the administrative team were very accommodating throughout. The team that came out to do the work arrived on time and were very efficient. The senior foreman, Humberto, did a great job communicating every step along the way. He and his team, Andrew and Orlando, were all very professional and were careful to minimize any disruption. When the work was complete, Humberto provided a very thorough summary of the work completed. All in all, I feel very confident with the work performed and would highly recommend them for any foundation repair.

We obtained three bids, and Foundation Solutions was by far the easiest and most competent company to work with. They were willing to work with us on their proposal, and throughout the entire project they demonstrated honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. They use Ram Jack which was minimally invasive. They truly run their organization like a well-oiled machine. Our project manager, Brett Everling, was excellent. He kept us informed every step of the way, from the project planning to the city permits and construction schedule. Communication was outstanding, and everything proceeded exactly as promised (and even a little ahead of schedule). For a project of this size and complexity, it's remarkable that everything went so smoothly. The Foundation Solutions crew was punctual, hardworking, and incredibly diligent. They hand-dug the excavation areas, which was no small task, and they treated the property with care. The amount of concrete that needed to be removed was kept to a minimum, and the concrete repairs afterward were done nicely. We did have one issue with the sprinkler system after it was reassembled, but Foundation Solutions responded quickly and resolved it without hesitation. That level of customer service reinforced that we had chosen the right company.

The project included foundation work, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, and complete interior finishes. What we appreciated most was the communication. We always knew what stage we were in and what was coming next. There were a few unexpected challenges during construction (as expected with older homes), but Daniel handled them quickly and explained options clearly without pressure. The finished ADU looks amazing. The layout feels much bigger than 450 sqft, and the finishes came out clean and modern. Inspections passed without issues, and the project stayed close to the original timeline. If you're considering an ADU or full remodel, I would recommend at least meeting with them.

Ricardo was easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, and very thorough. He took the time to explain the work, answered my questions, and made the whole process feel much less stressful. He also handled all of the city permit paperwork, which was a huge relief and saved me a lot of time and hassle. The work was done as promised, inspections were scheduled smoothly, and everything passed city inspection without any issues. It gave me a lot of confidence knowing the job was done right and up to code. I've been a customer of Do Bel for over 5 years. They have done concrete work, flag stone,…read moredrainage, and sump pump installation. (They did beautiful work, especially the concrete and flag stone.). I called today as my primary sump pump did not activate. ( The back up pump they had also installed was working fine.). They had someone out here the same day. Turns out the primary and back up pump each had a different power source, which I didn't know. The primary pump's power had tripped the outlet fuse, and also need cleaning. Everything was working great in a short amount of time. Great support and service!

We hired Robert DoBel for an insurance repair after a delivery truck cause structural damage to our…read morehouse. Contract price under $100,000. Overall work quality seems good, but it took way too long and we are still dealing with the company a year later because of their shady practices. Robert says he did unapproved work he claimed was necessary, but he failed to provide change orders for the insurance to approve when asked up front. He was extremely uncooperative and rude when we tried to submit the expenses after the fact, delaying the insurance settlement for money we had already paid them. Robert tried to have my wife sign backdated COs, and he changed his story to say the work was not necessary after all but that we had approved it, when in reality we asked him repeatedly to only do necessary work and asked for up-front estimates and COs so we could get them approved by the adjuster. Robert failed to complete minor work items as a pressure tactic to make us pay for the unapproved work. Robert threatened to file a lien against our house while sending us ridiculously inflated invoices. (The lien forms he threatened us with were for the original contract price of course, since he knows his COs and invoices are bogus.) Robert emailed us several month later to inform us that permits had expired and there would be a substantial fee to reinstate them, even though he had previously indicated that all inspections as permits were finalized, before we paid him. Essentially, while I believe their work is good, the owner's father Robert DoBel is a shady operator. Steer clear to avoid these shenanigans. I can't believe apparently reputable contractors are trying to pull this kind of thing nowadays. The threats, insults and transparent manipulative tactics are a real pain to deal with. We will probably break even on the insurance payment because we held back a token amount for the incomplete work, but I'm almost hoping we don't so I can take these clowns to court. That frustrating...
