Was not seated at the bar 5 minutes when the bearded bartender lets out an 'F' bomb while talking to customers also using the 'F' bombs. Was not an enjoyable time as the language continued to be unsettling throughout my meal. Ate and ran! I had stopped going because older ladies are the last to be waited on at the bar. Was really looking forward to this place opening. Love the look of the exterior---I hope they maintain it. We stopped in last Friday around 5pm. Host/hostess staff seemed inexperienced. Our waiter was very good. As others have noted, the patron noise in the bar area was deafening. There was a guy singing and playing guitar. He was very good but the music was also way too loud. My husband ordered a beer and it was nice and cold. I took a little longer to decide what I wanted to drink---choose the same beer, but it wasn't cold. Beer menu was underwhelming (Cloverleaf's is better). I ordered a salad which was very good. My husband had Bangers & Mash. He said the sausage and potatoes were good. The menu lists the other side as "vegetables". Neither of us could identify what it was. Appeared to be mashed something. Turns out it was mashed parsnips and carrots. Incredibly bland and unappetizing and my recommendation would to substitute with something else. I had very high hopes especially since this is a third location for this restaurant but was sort of disappointed. Different owners? We might return sometime this Fall to give it another shot and see if it's any better. I hope they can step up their game. read more

This is great place for lunch. 2 for 9.99 is a great value. I had the lamb stew which was excellent. Definitely worth trying for lunch

Food is OK if you stick to the basics. It is after all an Irish pub with a restaurant. I don't recall anyone ever saying they went to Ireland for the food. The pub is the most authentic Irish pub in the area. Really feels like the community pub back in Ireland. We found the scones were weak and for an area where breads bake well they were disappointing. We've had most of the menu and there are a few things that seemed like they were either stretching the ingredients a little or just a little weak. If they're taking shortcuts it's not a good long term plan here. For pub atmosphere they are a clear winner with the most authentic everything. On the food side Franklin Steakhouse should keep them honest or they will lose to them. read more

Just got ripped off and charged $6 for a 1/3 glass of Guinness - asked for half pint and when I questioned it the server was incapable of understanding!!! If you go there be aware otherwise avoid the place of possible!! Bad news. read more

Holy crap, what bad service at the bar. There must have been 6 bartenders and as they wandered around, they did that 'look through you' thing where you can't meet their eyes. People on both sides of me said the exact same thing and left. Oh and bartender with pigtails (braids)... there are other patrons besides your 3 friends that showed up to socialize with you. Came here 4 times. Service was just ok nice people but don't seem experienced. Corn beef cabbage rolls are bland French onion soup is ok. Biggest disappointment was the chicken pot pie looked great tasted good except for one thing no chicken! Stopped eating it and ordered sliders and the waiter never asked why ?? My wife and I had dinner with our family last night at Thatcher McGhee's in Fairfield NJ. We were all exited to dine at the newly opened Irish restaurant in the area. When we entered, we were greeted ans\d seated by the hostess. Our server was also pleasant. We ordered some appetizers and they were ok. We then ordered 3 steaks, Shepard Pie and Chicken Curry. The 3 steaks were just awful, they were spongy, fatty and not very hot, Curry was also pretty bad, The Shepard Pie was ok. Overall. we were very disappointed. They need a new chef, the current, chef or cook is just terrible. Needless to say, we will not be back to this restaurant. read more

What a great experience! Such a cozy restaurant and the Irish food was cooked to perfection. I had the buffalo chicken dip which was amazing and the Reuben was superb. The meat was so tender! They had great music on and drink prices were so reasonable . I also saw they have a new brunch on the weekends which included mimosas for $3.50 and French toast under $6. I need to try it! This Irish pub is the best.. proper pours of Guinness.. some of the Owners and staff are straight from Ireland which gives this place authenticity.. Irish Food is very authentic and good.. This place used to be great, but they recently closed the dinning room and are only using it as a party room. So now if you want to eat there, it is only self seating in the bar area (forget trying to find a seat on Friday or Saturday night). The food is still good, but if you want to talk with someone during the meal forget it, as now the bar area is packed and you have to shout to be heard. Great bar, but bad if you want to bring the family to get something to eat. My family and I used to go there all the time to eat, now since they have close the dining room area we will be going elsewhere (there are lots of other options in the area). read more

Went here on a Saturday night, around 7, were told we could seat ourselves in the pub/bar area, waited about ten mins for a server to acknowledge us and than about 20 mins for her to bring us our drinks from the bar, during this time I watched the four male bartenders behind the bar either take shots themselves, text on their phone or just look around aimlessly. I ordered the steamed clams for an app and they were terrible, the menu described them served with a white wine lemon sauce, which was false. It tasted like they heated up saltwater and dumped that on top of the clams. We also ordered the app sampler, french onion soup, and the prime rib, all which were pretty good. I would give this place another try but they really need to work on their customer service. read more

Great place and amazing food. The curry fries are to die for. I took my daughter here the first week it opened and we could not have had a better experience. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the one bald manager or supervisor walking around had a distinct marijuana-like smell to him as he passed by us a few times. read more

Stopped in finally with my wife and welcomed by the hostess with a big smile. Sat in the dining area and can't say enough about the waitress Jasmine. Had skirt steak that was cooked to just the way i like it. This is definetely on my list of places to stop in. Great food, service and atmosphere. read more

My family went for my birthday, 7 people on a Thursday night. We found a parking space easily, contrary to what the reviews I read had warned about lack of parking. If the manager is smart, he/she will change the hostess staff as the 2 girls at the front desk were not friendly at all! Terrible first impression! we told them there was 7 of us and we got snarky faces and eye rolling. Were told we could sit in the bar area or wait 45 minutes for a table. we took the bar, and while the one girl went to setup the table, we tried chatting with the other one and got one word answers. Things improved from there...although the bar area was loud, the lovely, friendly waitress, Alex, made up for the hostesses! She was quick, efficient and was able to interact with customers and make them feel comfortable. Food was good to excellent! The Drunken Chicken was very good, prime rib looked great and my kids loved the fish and chips! The pretzel appetizer was awesome! There was a good selection of beer and prices were reasonable. Altogether a pleasant dining experience. Note to manager: those disinterested, unfriendly girls should not be at the front desk! read more

Went the first weekend they opened and it was slammed. They told us it would be an hour wait for a table for 4 in the dining room. Ended up being an hour and a half. The hostess staff is pretty horrible and had no idea what they were doing. They called us over 30 minutes before the table was even ready.The issue is that they allow you to self-seat in the bar area when in reality, that should be a seating area. Once seated, it was so LOUD I couldn't even hear myself speak. I'm talking screaming loud. As new tables were seated next to us, you could see everyone was extremely uncomfortable with the noise level. The food was actually pretty good - they got my husband's order wrong but then came back quickly with the correct one. They also comped his meal because of the mistake. I thought they would have offered free dessert or apps too given our wait (it was 9PM by the time we ate). I would not return - not my style at all. read more
