These people are seriously great. From the initial phone call to the final installation, it couldn't have been better. They showed up on time, were neat, organized, and efficient. The first guy who came out with options as well as his recommendations as to what would be best for our new home. He explained the "why" behind each of his suggestions. It is now wonderfully comfortable, and took only about a week from initial call to completed installation. Since this was not an emergency situation, I considered that timing very appropriate. They were polite and friendly and came over the next day, the guy was polite and friendly and gave me different options for what I could go with in replacing my water heater such as different types of tanks or even a tankless one. I opted for a size increase and a couple of days later to may surprise they showed up on time and the installers were even more friendly and charismatic. They wasted no time and finished before the estimated time and to top it all off, the price wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Reached out to explore contracting with Dana's for a 108 apartment complex through their automated messaging system on their website. That feature was a smooth and straightforward process, which is a positive experience. I left all the pert information as to the brand/manufacturer of heating and air systems we have. Unfortunately, the phone call, although very prompt, was a deep disappointment. The caller said they looked at online photos of the property to rightfully try ascertaining the type of heating and air systems, residential or commercial. They explained doing this and assumed it was commercial grade. I was asked to verify and I said I can provide model numbers, to which their reply was "that's not necessary and wouldn't matter" because they had already decided the equipment was commercial. They don't service commercial so they're not interested in pursuing a contract with us. This person just cost Dana's a multi-unit service contract. Our equipment is residential grade. read more

We bought our home this summer and after the cold temps this week, I finally switched the heat on. Except no heat came out. After my neighbor looking at it and telling me what he thought it was, he recommended Dana's to me. I gave them a call and they fit me in within 24 hours. Scott came out and took a look and fixed the problem within 10 minutes. He was so nice and even gave me some tips on things to do for the unit(like what filters to purchase). No parts were needed so I was just charged the service fee. We will for sure be using them for all our furnace needs going forward. read more

Our family has used Dana's for years but we recently had a really negative experience. Last winter, we hired them to perform a routine service of our heat pump. Their technician informed us that our system was failing (said it was leaking and that we needed to buy a new system; then sent out their salesperson who provided us with bids of $20K+ to replace). Before making such a big purchase, we decided to get a second opinion from another company that came out, tested the system, and informed us that it was running perfectly. Recently, I went into our crawlspace to change the air filter and discovered that the Dana's technician didn't replace our filter when he was here. He had stowed the new filter on the ground next to our system and left the old one in place (really!?). I called and emailed the company asking to speak with the owner or a leader about my concerns. They never got back to me. This week, months after this visit, our system is still working great - even during a record-setting heat wave. It may have been just one bad technician, but I'd proceed with caution if you are thinking of working with this company. read more

I've been a customer of this company for a long time. I've had it with the service as of today. The customer service agent on the phone was of no help at all. I have an emergency situation with a gas valve. Technician came to my house yesterday for a routine maintenance, turned off my gas because I need to have a gas valve replaced on my furnace. No problem at all. The problem comes in when I realize he turned off the gas to my water heater as well, which now leaves me with no hot water...or heat. I'm not upset about the heat because I have space heaters and I understand the need to turn off the furnace. My frustration is getting someone to come out to turn the valve back on because I'm not sure which one it is. The customer service agent I spoke to today is terrible! She needs training. Her "I don't give a shit" attitude can be felt and heard! She is the reason why I will no longer use Dana's heating again. Especially when there's other heating/air conditioning companies in our local area. I always try to give my business to local shops, but when you receive bad customer service, I'll spend my money elsewhere. I will no longer recommend Dana's heating and air to anyone. Search around. Customer service is everything. If you don't get good customer service, it's time to go!! read more

I really do not recommend. The reviews made me choose this company and they came out to evaluate my minisplit for 159 bucks plus tax. No problem. The entire time the tech was there he was selling me on a new system eventhough mine was less than 5 years old (I did not know that at the time cause I just bought the house)... and he referred to some sticker insinuating it was 20-25 years old?? He constantly stated the great benefits of having a new system installed by them however did not know what was wrong with my current system and wasn't able to diagnose exactly, but just said, it could be this or that. Well this or that are the compressor and the inverter, two of the most expensive parts of the entire system. But not sure which one... so just buy a new one from us. I of course wanted to see what the repair would cost. Instead of sending me e detailed report with a quote for repair, I just got a receipt for the 159 and the recommendation to replace?? well I called and asked for the quote and now a week later I got it, over 5K. Eventhough the parts are under warranty. They said the job would take 6-8 hours. So 5K for coolant and labor for less than a days work? At every step it seems they are only interested in making repairs as cost prohibitive as possible in order for you to buy a new system from them. I am super disappointed in their dishonest and frankly fraudulent ways. I basically paid a guy 159 to come out and sell me a new unit. Useless. read more

This company has a history of not showing up to a scheduled annual maintenance appointment. I received 2 appointment reminders by text 2 day's in a row for the 18th of February with a service window of between 8 and 12. I took the day off from work to be here for the service man. 12:30 rolls around and no one showed so I called the the office only to find out that the " girl " hadn't scheduled me correctly. Which meant I was not scheduled for the time and day originally agreed upon. The girl really couldn't have cared less that I had taken the day off from work or had all ready waited 4 hours for someone that was never going to show up. She said we could re schedule like it was no big deal that I wasted my time and money and time off from work. Now typically I don't usually fill these out but I'm pissed because this same exact thing happened with my 2021 maintenance appt. even worse is they charge you a year in advance for your contract so your at their mercy and they work on your money all year. I've asked for a call from management we will see how far that gets me. read more

I will never recommend Dana's heating. Three showed up and made a complete mess of our house. The woman kept forgetting her mask and booties, our floors are now filthy, we had to completely clean-up after them. They went down the stairs to the basement, left plaster all over the stairs, their boot marks everywhere. They went into our adult kids room and destroyed their closet and room. There is a new baby in that room and having insulation all over is not ok. They left their tools and insulation. They kept our front door open and sat in their truck playing on their phones while the machine was going. We have children in the house, it was very cold. Reading online, it could be anything ... Including an electrical issue. However, after Rick looked it over, it was condensation on coil, needing a clean. Since they do an annual maintenance on our system, he informed us this symptom should not have occurred so today's service was free of charge. Our system works great and we are happy customers. The technician called and said he would be here at 8 am. He went to the wrong house and they said they didn't have a furnace to service. Instead of calling me and clarifying the address, he just went to his next appointment. I had to call him and then call Dana's heating, where they tried to explain away why it happened. We can't recommend Dana's Heating and Cooling under any circumstances. When we bought our house the HVAC system was under one of their annual inspection deals - ie the previous owners of our house had purchased a package from Dana's to have them send out a technician every year for 3 years to inspect and perform annual maintenance on the HVAC. Well, great. We had them come out the first year, they did their thing and convinced us to re-up for another 3 years. The second time we had them out, we told the tech that during the previous summer we had noticed a leak on the few occasions that we needed to use the air conditioning. The tech hemmed and hawed and said that he couldn't replicate the problem, but if we saw it happening again to give them a call. Fast forward a year and we had the same leaking problem but it was a cooler summer so we didn't need the AC and decided to wait for our annual inspection to ask the tech about the problem again. When we set up the inspection appointment we described the problem and said we'd want the tech to address it while he was there. Surprise, surprise - Dana's failed us again. First the tech said he couldn't figure out anything wrong with the unit, then he gave us a bunch of pushback about how they couldn't fix any actual problems during the annual visit that we'd already paid for. Finally he said that we'd have to set up and pay an extra $175 plus hourly rate plus parts for a separate visit for this problem (huh?), and the guy left. What's the use of paying in advance to have someone come out if they refuse to fix problems while they are there? We decided not to renew the maintenance contract and then received a series of increasingly aggressive phone calls from their main office pushing us for another $600 for the next 3 years of their useless service. No thanks. Oh, and we had another company come out to look at the problem. It was a cracked overflow pan, one of the easiest issues to diagnose and fix, according to the tech. We could see the problem ourselves too, as the crack was easily visible from the outside of the unit. How did Dana's miss it on two separate visits????? You tell me. In short, stay away from Dana's unless you want to waste your hard earned cash. read more

After working with another company forced upon me by my home warranty company, Dana's came out and really saved the day. The previous company sent multiple techs over the course of 3 months and couldn't figure out what was wrong. One tech told me he couldn't get the furnace to turn on for him to run a diagnostic. They replaced the control board multiple times and left my furnace in pieces in the crawl space of my house. I was at my wit's end and called Dana's. They had someone out in a few days. Their tech had the problem diagnosed almost immediately, and warm, glorious air blowing through my heater vents within a matter of hours. It actually turned out that the first company (*cough Absolutely Fabulous of Gig Harbor cough*) had caused the bulk of the problem when they wired everything backward! As a bonus, the gal who coordinated my site visit could sense my frustration and was so sweet and empathetic. She gave me good advice in advance of my appointment. The tech that visited called ahead, read the notes on my file, and showed on time. My total cost was $203, tax included, out the door. This included parts, labor, and overtime for the tech who's visit ran until about 6pm. All-in-all, it was a great experience and I will gladly refer Dana's to friends and family (and fellow Yelpers!). read more

We had Dana's out to look at our water heater on Tuesday, thinking we might need an element replaced because the water temperature out of our faucets was half as hot as it should be. The technician told us that it wasn't repairable and that we needed a new water heater installed. He quoted us $1900 for the materials and labor, including a $1400 heater. Both of these things were red flags for me, as I had spent the morning researching water heater issues and knew that simple problems could be fixed. I had also started looking into the cost of a new water heater, just to be prepared, and knew that most of the models that we would need fall well under $1000. We had a technician come out from another company, yesterday - $300 and 30 minutes later, it's fixed. He also said that we should expect another 5-10 years out of the heater that we have. Now I'm also questioning the furnace repair they did while they were here, but I'd almost rather not know that we were taken advantage of on that one, too. read more

Call this the day the internet won. When my heater decided to stop working a few months ago, I called Dana's for an estimate. First, the good part - they sent someone out the same day to look at it, and he was able to quickly identify the problem, some burned out fusable links. The technician was was friendly and explained everything he was seeing as I looked over his shoulder (what can I say, I'm a curious guy), and had a likely fix in mind in about 15 or 20 minutes. Now that he knew what was wrong, he went to create an estimate. And here's where it went south. He spent longer in his van, doing I'm-not-sure-what, than it took him to discover the problem. When he emerged, iPad in hand, he approached me with an estimate for over $600, presented as if it were a done deal, and not as if it represented a major and unexpected expense. His propensity to explain everything seemed to also vanish, and I had to ask to see the details of the estimate, where I saw that the fusable links had been priced out at $120 for replacement. That's $120 each, mind you - $480 total, just for parts. The rest of the costs were the initial site visit (about $130, I believe) and some other equipment charges. My gut sank. But I recovered quickly, and said "no thank you." I paid the site visit fee and saw our friendly, expensive technician off in his big van. Then I went online. I matched the part I saw him tinkering with and did some searching around. I found the same part listed at multiple vendors, at prices from $20 to $40 per part. I chose the source that looked most reputable and ordered it, spending less than $100 all told. I got all four parts, mind you, for less than one part Dana's wanted to charge me for. When the parts arrived, I opened the furnace, carefully removed each of the old parts and replaced it with the new. 15 minutes later (maybe less, but I'm also a generous man), I had a working furnace again. So let's break it down. Friendly and prompt service, check. Knowledgeable technician, check. 600% markup for a very simple fix, check and double check. Arm yourselves, people. Do not let yourself be ripped off by this outfit. Get a second opinion, or better yet, do some of your own research. As for me, I will never - NEVER - invite Dana's Heating to my home again. No matter how nice you are, I will never choose to be ripped off. Internet, for the win. read more

Called Dana HVAC to fix a ductless system. One head didn't produce heat. A slow decline over several weeks. Thinking low on freion gas Called earlier in week for appointment. Tech shows on Friday afternoon after three. Looks at our system then said he would not repair because it wasn't a brand that they sell. Nowhere was I asked what brand or any other info about system before booking appointment. Nor was I advised if it wasn't there brands they would not fix. So... needless to say that didn't go over well with me. It should be stated up front what they will do and not do. Lost a week of time waiting when I could have gone to someone else. We hired Dana's Heating at the recommendation of a friend. We signed up for the two year maintenance program and were very pleased with the service provided. We then had our vents completely cleaned out (they were disgusting with all kinds of spider webs, debris and dust!!) and the next day we had them install an air scrubbing system. I have the yearly maintenance plan, tech this year was Carl, who showed up on-time, masked, and diagnosed that this year a capacitor had to be replaced. We also discussed the life of my older furnace and what to eventually plan to replace it with. A very good visit. Because the part for my older furnace was not stocked on their truck, another tech, Brian, stopped by to replace it a few days later. He heard how noisy the furnace is, and said, "I can make that quieter," and expertly reset the thermostat so that the furnace is SO much quieter. Last summer my A/C was blowing warm air and I did all the trouble shooting and couldn't get it to work. I called Dana's because it was hot and we needed it to be fixed with a new born. They came out right away and we're able to fix ASAP. That was great and worth 4-5 stars except I was pressured into purchasing a maintenance package which included them coming back for next years maintenance. Now here is where all stars get removed for prior okay service. I just left for vacation for a week to Disneyland and when I got back our propane had ran out which meant that due to safety features the pilot lights on water heater and furnace went out automatically. I got propane filled, and the water heater working properly but I couldn't get the furnace working or relit. Because I had a maintenance package purchased I called to have them come out and do my yearly maintenance and also relight the pilot. The lady tells me they have to come out and charge me another $125 to diagnose the problem. I tell her the problem and that this is a maintenance not a new problem which she continued to act like It could not be waived. I told her she just lost a customer for the poor service and not listening to what was needed. I went and did more research online and was able to finally get the furnace to come back on. Lesson for Dana's is listen to your customers when they actually know what they need, and don't pinch pennies when there is a lot of competition out there because there is plenty of more services that I will need and now I will be using someone else. read more

I've been using Dana's since 2006, but haven't required anything more than routine maintenance until this year. My furnace developed a habit of cycling on and off almost at random: sometimes it worked just fine, but others it would start and stop for hours, never producing any heat. I didn't think too much about it in the summer months, but with winter coming I wanted to get it fixed. I called Dana's and they were able to have a technician come out on the same day. He was very patient listening to my description of the problem, but of course the furnace wouldn't reproduce the problem behavior when he arrived. He went ahead and performed extensive troubleshooting on the unit, and as luck would have it, the problem re-surfaced while he was doing diagnostics. He narrowed the problem down to an intermittently-stuck pressure sensor, and was able to replace it with one from his truck. The repair wasn't cheap (~$230 to replace a pressure sensor that probably cost less than one-tenth of that to manufacture) but he got it figured out and fixed in a single visit. My experience with Dana's was great, I'd recommend them without hesitation. read more

I called Dana's to have a cleaning done for $161.00 and I was told I needed a new condenser. Then I received a phone call saying that I needed a whole new inducer assembly. And that while they replace the condenser I would have to pay for a diagnostic so they could see what was going on with the inducer. The estimate was over $800. I called Randy's heating and he came after 6pm and had the issue fixed in about 15 minutes. I was told by Dana's that I wouldn't be able to close on my house if I didn't get this inducer assembly done. They of course we're in a rush to have me get it fixed by them. Thank goodness I got a second opinion. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I would call Randy's heating for all my heating needs. read more

Unfortunately they were the only company which had any availability on short notice (that should tell you something right there). I'm thanking God for many people he has put in our lives. One of them is the people who installed the Gas furnace in our house. The Rep Sales Guy who started us on that deserves a lot of the credit. His Name is David Jairl, from Dana's Heating and Cooling, and from the get going he was fantastic. He made sure every step of the contract, installation, etc., was perfectly done. He was patient and helpful, and answered and came over our house anytime we had questions or concerns throughout the installation process, always with a smile and assuring us that he had it all covered. This was not lip service, he did what he said.. He was one of those guys that care for his customers and goes beyond his responsibilities to help and do the best for you, like making sure the Natural Gas company did their job. The furnace is working exactly the way he said it would, and I indeed recommend him if you are thinking of a furnace. Ask for David. They serve air pump furnaces as well. We are happy campers now. Seniors beware!!! This out fit took advantage of my senior disabled mother. She has a service agreement to clean her furnace, which provides for cleaning once a year. When they were just there to clean her electronic furnace she asked them how much it would be to come again in 6 months to clean her furnace's air filter to which she was told 165 dollars, for a 10-15 minute job. I am writing this because her service agreement was already 145 dollars for a cleaning and service, and to have an additional amount of 165 is an outrage. She has called another company whom indicated it would be at maximum 50 for a 10-15 min service call. Incidentally, the electronic filter furnace she had installed by them which was about 10k, would have been significantly less with someone else. They did a hard sale on an elderly disabled woman and she caved. They also lied when saying she would receive a tax credit which she wasn't able to receive. I most definitely believe they have taken advantage of my mother. I am outraged by their standards of business and that they would believe in any way a smaller home of 1600sq ft would need a furnace which cost around 10k is appalling. read more
