My husband is buying a new car and was very interested in a few Kias. We went yesterday and were told the 2 he was interested in they had none on the lot, the salesperson didn't attempt to show us anything (not even "well, this would be a similar interior...") or ask us what we were looking for to determine if maybe there was another vehicle that would suit our needs. He gave us 2 print outs and then showed us 2 photos from Google Images. Not sure why anyone goes here or how they sell anything. We will not be going back and if we choose a Kia will go to literally any other Kia dealer. read more

TL:DR - Dealership continues to inexplicably withhold $1K owed to me, continually lies to me, and all around dodging my calls instead of dealing with the problem. If I could give this dealership and literally everyone I interacted with up through the owner of the dealership a 0 I would. An utterly insulting experience. I purchased the new Kia Telluride (at $6K over sticker at that) and they promised that the $1,035 that I put down would be refunded to me after the purchase of the car, and we are sitting now at 9 days since purchase and still no refund. I asked for a check and they refuse to give me one saying that they issued it and day after day keep "guaranteeing" that it will be in my account within 24 hours. They have consistently lied to me about willingness to cut a check and refuse to make me whole. When I call up the dealership they dodge my calls and immediately redirect me to other dealerships within their auto-group. There is absolutely no accountability in this business, they treat me like garbage, continue to withhold my money owed to me (remind you I just bought a rather pricey car already) and have consistently lied to me every step of the way. I've spent multiple hours everyday now dealing with this horrendous business, including driving down there myself since they refuse to answer my calls. Really disappointed in this place. I had a very bad interaction with the manager, let's call him "S." He literally told us to leave, while we disagreed about a $500 difference in the trade in price. The dealership was advertising (in big bold banners, plastered all over the building) $4,000 minimum trade ins, even if you had to tow it in. Well, we agreed on a price (5% above dealer cost, based on the invoice they supplied) ... but they low-balled our trade in to $2,500 (a Kia Sportage, by the way, that KBB puts at $4,000.) He even said "Are you willing to lose this car over $500!?" HA! Are you kidding me? Who says that? "S" took one look at our final offer and told us "to go someplace else" ... never have my wife and I been treated so rudely and dismissively in a car dealership. He was angry and pissed and it showed in his behavior and attitude. Really, really surprised. Totally taken aback by the treatment at this dealership. We walked out in total disbelief. Never again. I wish I could give this worthless dealership 0 stars. My experience starts in January when I brought my black Kia Optima in for a check engine light. $700 and a new "waste gate actuator" later the problem was not fixed but we were told nothing further would be done until the "aftermarket air filter" was removed which was causing trouble in diagnostics.Took 5 months and a negative facebook review before being contacted by Clyde to bring the car in for a second diagnostic. Now I'm told the car needs a new engine and turbo under recall....all done completely for free, new turbo and new engine installed within a month... still no talks of refunding our $700 for a part that was never needed... typical Kia service attitude. Flash forward to July 20th when my red Kia Optima died while driving on the side of the road. Towed to Kia and waited over a week before Al calls to say a new engine will be put in but it's backordered... and that's where the trouble only starts. Waited until September 6th to hear from Vinny at Kia that the new engine was installed - along with a new turbo and a new starter. When I inquired why, he told me that the starter most likely burned out after the engine seized due to multiple attempts to restart the car. He goes on and tells me that my car may need to be towed or jump started however as my battery is dead and Kia will not authorize a replacement. I told Vinny that I would not be picking up a vehicle that did not start and that furthermore I could bring in proof that the battery was purchased and installed in my car June 25, less than a month before the car died. Soon after Vinny told me Kia would cover a new battery and my car would be ready the following day, the 7th. When I arrived to pick up my newly repaired car, I went out with Al the adviser and started my car to hear the loudest exhaust leak coming from under my hood. Al brought out John the mechanic who had apparently been the one to repair my car who informed me that the car arrived with the exhaust leak and was not going to be repaired. Seeing as my car came in seized on a tow truck and most definitely didn't have a hole in the exhaust, I refused to accept the car and left. On Monday Calvin called to let me know that they were submitting a claim to Kia to get the exhaust leak fixed and.... get this, over the weekend my car HAD BEEN HIT in their parking lot, but don't worry, while they were waiting to hear about the exhaust leak, they'd be repairing my car in house. I was told I'd be sent a photo of the damage, luckily my fiance went to the dealership to see it in person because no photo was taken or sent. I was then called on Friday the 20th and told my car exhaust leak was repaired and that the body damage was also repaired and my car was ready for pickup. I arrived too late to pick up my car Friday but had the chance to look at the "repairs" their body shop had done and will be filing an insurance claim either against Kia or the unknown drivers who hit my car. I picked up my car Monday with Calvin. Even though I had told him over the phone Saturday that I would be in Monday for the insurance information to file a claim, he told me that he did not have the insurance information because Vinny had it and was off so he would make sure Vinny called me Tuesday with it... He then followed up by telling me that if the other drivers insurance would not handle this now, that Kia's insurance would.... and now Vinny called me this morning and tells me that he doesn't have the info, Calvin had it and misplaced it but they are in the process of reaching out to the drivers who hit my car to get their info again..... Are you kidding me?!!! Unbelievable that they think some bondo and paint is considered a repair, this is completely unacceptable and now just an absolute joke! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! Don't even bother... Al, Calvin, Clyde, John, Vinny... none of them have the slightest clue about customer service or satisfaction. Unbelievable. read more

my engine light was on made an appointment to get car fixed. Dropped off on a Saturday for Tuesday appointment because I was going away. Spoke to person on Tuesday he told me what needed to be done. Said it would be a few days for part. Suggested That I replace some filter for 250 for high mileage car.....my car only has 48,000. Then tried to get me to pay 375 for something else. I said no to both, two issues covered under warranty That I was having fixed. And Called me Wed said car would be ready Thursday would leave key with sales. Wasn't ready. I called and left 3 messages on Friday all unanswered. My husband called messages unanswered. He went there at 5 three guys hanging around talking. I got operator and was told manager's name was Brian. Went to Kia Monday morning at 8 manager's name was Mark.....really you don't know you're own manager's name. Spoke to Mark no answer on why nothing done to car at all, ridiculous no one answers your calls and messages I took my car after sitting there for one week unfixed and will bring elsewhere. Terrible service, manager has no insight on what's going on, laziness obvious. As for sales they suck too, they spelled our name wrong on loan paper work and did not use our phone number so when we call to process a payment or refinance loan they can't find it.....this was done on purpose so we couldn't refinance they knew I wasn't going to keep their loan long. Now I have to figure out how to get fixed .....incompetent and sleazy So after Susan's reply I must add she is lying ....parts were in, I spoke to the tech I have his name I don't know who she is talking about. Buyer beware, these guys tack on the fees and clearly don't do proper checks on their products. I went in to test drive a used car and the thing ran out of gas half a mile from the dealership, we had to wait on the curbside in the cold while another salesmen came and drove me back to the dealership. Meanwhile they charge a 600 dollar "doc fee" and a 300 dollar "prep fee" oh and that "doc fee" doesn't even cover registration costs to the state so whatever price you see just tack on close to a grand before you even hit taxes and registration. After my test drive experience I got the hell out of there, so I don't know how much wiggle room the prices had, but they weren't all that great to begin with even without all their pile of fees. I had to have my car towed to Danbury Kia (not where I bought my car) when my radiator blew and my engine was overheating on my 2018 Sorento. 1- they had my car sit there for a full 24 hrs before they even looked at it, and told me that it was bc I didn't have an appointment. 2- they don't have loaners, just a rentals through enterprise which is bizarre to me. 3- my gas light was on when my car was towed with 15mi until empty, when I got my car back it only had 1mi until empty. The best part is that they knew that I was not familiar with the area and live an hour away. 4- Got my car back with the fuse panel completely off and sitting in my cup holder, and had wires hanging down out of it. Called corporate, was told there was nothing they could do. I have NEVER in my whole life ever experienced this type of treatment from a dealership. It was absolutely disgusting. *Edit: since Susan answered me, just want to add that the dealership didn't even LOOK at my car to diagnose it until 24hrs later-- even though they told me that I would have to pay for the rental if whatever the issue was wasn't under warranty. So I guess it's only for us suckers who don't get a loaner who would have to potentially cough up money? That seems absurd. And I was definitely told by the staff that they did not provide loaners. Also- was it necessary to drive my car 14 miles to make sure that it wasn't overheating? No. I think they did that out of spite bc they knew I was pissed. The fuse panel is beyond me. At that point, I couldn't even stomach going back inside to talk to the morons who I already spent the whole day arguing with. But no worries Susan, I went to Chevy the next day and they bought me out of my lease. That is the last Kia I will EVER buy. read more

I brought my 2015 Soul for an oil change to Danbury for the first time. From making the appointment to the service, everything was top notch! After mentioning that my emergency brake light came on while driving, they found I had a leaky brake caliper and an almost metal/metal pad. When my extended warranty company tried to get me to drive the car to the original dealership I purchased the car, Al who is the Service Advisor went above and beyond to help us out! He arranged to get us a loaner car, argue with the warranty company on our behalf and totally kept us in the loop the whole time (with a great sense of humor!). Totally going back! read more

I did not buy my car here. This is only a review of the service center. The service center is a pain in the butt. I have had work done on my car here twice. Both times, they tried to talk me into things that I did not need. Also, both times, they did not finish the work on time. This last time, they called late on a Saturday, were not open on Sunday, and I had to work on Monday. I had to talk the manager into reimbursing me for a rental car. It will take a few weeks to get the refund because they close at 5 and the manager will not be in on Saturday. Appointments are also hard to come by. It generally takes 1.5 weeks to get a service appointment. Then, once you get in, parts are never in stock. Be prepared to wait days for your car to be finished. Of course this is a car dealership and car dealership service is almost universally wretched in my experience. I managed to find a great one in Boston - just in time for my move to Danbury. They charged me $1000 over MSRP for my 2023 Sportage. It came without floor mats. I was told they would get them. After a month I had to push to get them. They were finally approved by the salesman to order. When they came in the parts people played dumb. They tried to charge me $175.00. My car was in for a check engine light. Yes a 2023. It had a bad ignition coil. They had to order and said one week to get it. They took it upon themselves to change my oil at the same time and never asked me nor did I ask for it to be changed. They put in the wrong oil and lowered my tire pressure after driving the car 90 miles. It's supposed to be checked cold. I got a tire light the next day. I also just changed my oil before I brought it in so they wasted my money. They said it was ok to drive with a bad coil but it's not. They never got the replacement coil, ignored my attempts to contact and when I finally got it touch I had a transmission light. They were suppose to get me a loaner car and fix mine then just blew me off. I'll never go there again. read more

They do not care about you financially or personally customer service is horrible all I went for was an appraisal for my car and told me it was gonna take 10 min took an hour and the guy keeped trying to sell me a car and to lease a car. When all I went there for was an appraisal and I went out of my way for no reason all the way from Hamden ct which is an hour just to get some snake car salesmen. Also tried talking to one other lady when the guy I was talking to was gone and she tottally ignored me like I don't exsist when I was right infront of her she was more focused on her computer screen trying to see who she can call and bother to try and make a sale. Then we spend 2 hours going over the numbers only for them to keep the payments so high that I couldn't make them . The salesman , Eric was an acquaintance of a friend so I felt bad and went back a week later to give him a second chance . This time I'm dressed in scrubs .Everyone was nice at first but as we talked numbers , suddenly payments were larger than the week prior , they wanted to suddenly give me less for my trade in and required more money down . They also claimed that the percentage rates I was approved for thru capital one were higher than the ones my capital one offers were showing . Another 2 hours wasted and the guy running numbers in his last offer writes "WE ARE DONE !!" at bottom of offer . If you are looking for a place where the employees are respectful , I wouldn't recommend this place but Ingersolls instead . At Ingersolls they treat everyone with compassion and respect . The people in charge at Kia could learn plenty from Ingersolls . I will definitely will be sharing this experience with everyone I know on social media . read more

Very poor sales skills... after test driving and asking salesperson about the car, he couldnt even provide details on the car (my daugther did her homework and knew more). Once trade numbers were provided I asked for keys back as I was done. Sales manager thought he had better selling skills and became very arrogant and downgrading American cars. I politely asked for my keys as I would be taking my business elsewhere. I have always purchased from Dodge & Hyundai and have never had such a lousy experience. Will never stop in Danbury Kia again... next time I'll go see the guys at Dodge and have them sell me the car from Kia. read more

Unusual as this might sound, the sales experience at danbury kia was excellent!! I was greeted courteously. The sales consultant, Nuno Miranda, was beyond great. He is knowledgeable and responsive. He took time to answer all questions, to go over the features in the car. When I had follow-up questions even after the deal was completed and I already had the car, he answered all phone calls and texts sent to him. My mom bought her 2nd Kia at Danbury Kia (loyal customer). Sales process was smooth. Didn't take long for the car to have major issues to the catalytic converter and transmission. Not Danbury Kia's fault, but 4 trips to the service center later and they finally "fixed" the issue. Finally gave my mom 1 free oil change, $50 gift card, and a loaner to finally fix the issue. Wow. Still asking myself why it took them so many trips to the service center to fix the issue and fix her car. Absentee management or just poor management. Either way, something is wrong. Had the worst experience with Kia dealership ever at this Danbury location with the Manager Sal S. First he will try to cheat on you with out of this world monthly payment for a 2018 Stinger, used car with 2000 miles that the owner drove , even though I think it was him bcs he fits that now wobbly messed up driver seat perfectly. I think this manager really does need to have psych evaluation as someone already suggested. If you do not agree with his numbers he will treat you like you are dirt, even yell, wave his hands dissrespectfully in front of everyone like he came down from some mountain. I also noticed that he treats his employees the same way. This guy is ruining Kia with his bad attitude. Someone needs to get him some business management and customer service classes ASAP. Don't fall for his old school washed up negotiationg tricks, he is a crook. I felt bad for the sales guy, he was awesome, he could've made this deal if it wasn't for his unprofessional manager. Do yourself a huge favor and go to some other Kia dealership, where they will treat customers with respect. I was planning on returning the following Sunday to seek out a vehicle...but after my brother & his wife had issues with Tim I don't think I'll be returning. We found my sister in law a car....went through the price. Everything settled 3 hours later and then we sit with Tim to have him tack on nearly $4,000. He didn't tell us the apr and wanted a $350 payment for a used car for 72 months. BOOGUS. I do feel bad for our sales rep he was very sweet & Tim threw him under the bus saying he was new since he wanted to try and scam my family on the "$4,000 tow drag and pull" event. I went to these guys to buy my first used car, great guys until the car was payed for. There are multiple problems with the car I purchased tranny is going. Drove it for a week and the 3rd gear pops out and grinds. They didn't mention this issue to me. They also didn't mention the car needed brakes and an oil change within the first 3 weeks of owning this car. Be careful with what your buying. If I could give zero stars I would. I will never purchase another Kia again. They assured me before I signed that I would owe nothing further than what I paid. I received a bill for $997 dollars after 4 months. I could not get in touch with anyone at the office to explain to me why I owed the money. In frustration I asked the receptionist to have the general manager call me back. She said I told him but I'm not his mother-very professional. After finally making contact with the Manager I still waited for answers and then was told that's what Kia says you owe. After months of watching my credit score decline I had to cave and pay the money and now am writing letters to consumer affairs, the credit bureaus and Kia explaining what is going on. This has been the most disgust I have ever had when dealing with a car dealership. I cannot wait to get out of this lease and purchase my next car from a different car manufacturer. read more

I had an amazing experience at the Danbury Kia store. I was very nervous about shopping for a car. I have not purchased a car for 14 years and was dreading the experience. I ended up test driving 3 vehicles and ended up purchasing a beautiful 1 year old Mercedes. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable. There was no pressure from Wilson, the salesman I worked with. Working with Jim, the finance manager was also a fantastic experience. I felt like everyone had my best interest in mind. Wayne and his service team were great. The issue I had with my car occurred twice in a matter of of days. They worked with Colonial Mazda and when the issue wasn't resolved, Wayne kept my car and continued to drive it until the issue occurred a third time. This provided an opportunity for Mazda to better diagnose the issue and hopefully resolve it. It has not happened again in the last 7 days, so I am hopeful that it was rectified. If I lived closer, I would bring my car back here for all servicing as I have complete trust in Wayne and his team. The only complaints I have are that people do not state their name when they answer the phone, so I always have to ask who I'm speaking to and also, I would always have to call looking for updates instead of the service team calling me. These were very minor inconveniences. read more

Arrived at Kia this morning @ 7:45am, as instructed to do so by Al in service. Upon arrival I was greeted by Al, who remembered talking to me on phone couple days ago, (which impressed me as many places never recall such info). Told me he would have my car on lift at 8:00am (which happened). He then took me out to my car in which the techs on duty went over everything that would need to be replaced, (can't remember techs name), however they were polite, courteous and answered all my questions. I was then out the door by 8:30am. BIG SHOUT FOR FAST & COURTEOUS STAFF. THANK YOU DANBURY KIA. Although I didn't purchase my car there, I will go there for all future needs. One salesman named Rich was completely dismissive of us and basically told us not to waste his time because it was a Saturday and we were unsure if we could commit. Adam took care of us right away and treated us with the same respect as anyone else. He ultimately did not see working with us as a "waste of time" whether we committed or not. I had a very good experience with Jimmy Canavan as my sales person which was arranged in advance over the Internet. He's a very pleasant man who knows his cars and the business; I would highly recommend him. He understood what I wanted when I said I needed an economical basic vehicle. Additionally my father who came with me, is a veteran was thanked many times by Jimmy as well as some other staff. That was very rewarding to hear and see- especially to my father. I do think the dealer conveyance fee should've included the prep for the vehicle. An extra $100 really is an unnecessary charge to an already 600$ conveyance fee. Unfortunately I did not notice that until a couple weeks after purchase- hence my own fault. I am a first-time Kia purchaser and hope everything I was told will provide me with a long lasting vehicle as it's seemingly a very decent car. Again I would recommend Jimmy without a doubt as he is courteous professional and helpful in the process. Hence a 5 star recommendation due to Jimmy and his professionalism. "I'd give a lower review if i could." Purchased a used 2012 Ford Focus from them in September 2015. The vehicle had a faulty transmission and was returned for service several times. I was told that the slipping, grinding and jerking was all normal. It is not. They took me for every penny they could and now I am forced to litigate. First with Ford, then with Danbury Kia for their dishonest tactics. (Like giving me $1 for a trade when I could have donated it for much more - after giving thousands on other trades.)
