We visited this restaurant several times during our stay at the attached resort. We came for both dinner and breakfast, and enjoyed it each time. The food was good, it was very family friendly and easy to bring a little one to, and the service was pretty good as well. We didn't have the best weather during our stay, but I believe they have a roof deck as well to enjoy the beautiful views across the way. read more

We loved this restaurant and had a wonderful dinner. It was our anniversary and we had planned to go somewhere else, but I am so glad we went here. Our waiter was very nice, helpful and was excellent with my 7 year old. My husband and daughter got burgers and loved them. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious and I had a salad that was perfect. The food is better than the service.... It wasn't busy, but the server never checked on us during the meal, plopped the check down the second we finished our entree, and was unhappy when we asked for coffee and she had to go get it and then adjust the check. That being said, the smoked salmon salad and Reuben were both very good. read more

Everything is glorified fast food, services is very slow. We where sat right next to the entrance which we did not think would be an issue. After sitting there for a moment we cold as it was -15 degrees outside. People where congregated next to our table as well the entire time waiting for tables because the service was slow. Adored for a different table and was told they did not have other tables. Ordered a kale Cesar salad and all the kale was wilted. Asked for a garden salad instead and that was also wilted. Important to note that all the toppings in each where space. Barely any croutons, no Asiago on the Cesar at all, no extra tomatoes and cucumber on the garden salad. The price for the car was $15 and Garden was $14. We also order a fried chicken sandwich which was cooked to death and dried out We brought up the concerns to the waiter but they did not care much. Offered a different item after the two salads and I declined. We asked for the bill immediately and that took another 15 minutes for that to arrive. They took off the salad but brushed us off and did not discuss the issues had on. The manager made an appearance but never approached us. Would not go, it's a tourist trap. read more

A quick, decent dinner was all we asked, following a tiring day on the slopes. DB DELIVERED with quality dishes and a more timely manner than any other restaurant we've visited in Lake Placid. I had the Pork Shank, which was almost perfect-- flavorful, tender, but ice cold closer to the bone? Definitely cooked through, just not thoroughly warmed. I still give it 4/5 stars. A decent place if you're looking for a bite to eat. Nothing overly impressed me though. A friend and I got some drinks as well which were VERY strong so that's a plus. We got the loaded chips which were not so loaded unfortunately. We saw another table also order the same thing but theirs had a lot more toppings than ours, so I guess it was just bad luck? We ate at Dancing Bears since it was the only restaurant that could seat us right away. I checked the Yelp reviews after and wish I had done so prior. The wait staff was friendly but it took 15-20 minutes before they first came to our table. The food is mediocre and overpriced. The pizza was very overcooked, do not recommend. The Bavarian pretzel sticks were good, but there were only three tiny pieces and not worth the price. I would suggest skipping this place. read more

This place has horrendous service. we specifically went in for a happy hour drink at the bar, asked the bartender for the happy hour menu and her response was "we don't have one"...so we followed up with "ok, so which drinks have happy hour?" And she said "umm some of the drafts and the wine is $5". Believing her, because we had no menu, we ordered 3 glasses of white wine. Even though we specifically ASKED about happy hour, she gave us three full-priced glasses of wine and didn't even mention the Sauvignon blanc wasn't a happy hour wine... Just ridiculous. Won't bother going back. No apology even after spending $30 on shitty wine we didn't want. SERIOUSLY, Best meal in Lake Placid by far! Shout out for allowing lunch menu overlap. I know I'm in the minority but I prefer dinner for breakfast over breakfast for dinner ANY day of the week. I got the honey BBQ burger and I can honestly say it was the best burger I've ever had while dining out (and I've had a lot of burgers!). Crispy bacon, onion straws, I opted for aged cheddar, and the coup de gras... The honey bbq sauce. Wow, every bite was so good. Do yourself a favor and get some on the side as well. (Great on fries!) The burger (I get them well) was cooked all the way through but wasn't dry. Don't judge me, I get my steaks blue rare and my burgers well, unless I cut and grind myself. My daughter got the eggs scrambled with cheese with sausage, potatoes and toast. Although she be but little she housed 2 1/2 links, the eggs and some potatoes. She isn't a picky eater but she enjoyed her meal nonetheless. Wife got the avocado toast and a side of hollandaise. Came with marinated tomatoes with were slightly spicy and super delicious! She finished the whole thing with only minor regrets haha! The staff and everyone eating was so nice and thoughtful, great photos on the wall and decor. Love the convenience to our favorite hotel, and the superb outdoor terrace, unbeatable in the warmer months. We usually have the burgers, which are decent and in assorted decorations, but on this visit I wanted something different, so I ordered the mushroom gnocchi. This turned out to be a sort of a "compliance" vegetarian dish, some potato dumplings in a bland butter sauce with just a sprinkling of chopped mushrooms. All I could think was: "How cheap can the management get?" Next time, we'll stick to the drinks and go on to dine elsewhere. They have an assortment of draft beers, though they don't appear on the menu. read more

Our family stopped in here for breakfast before leaving Lake Placid. The food was not good. Many of their breakfast items are pre-made like the potatoes and bacon. Very easy to tell they have been sitting in a warming tray rather then preparing when ordered. Asked for crispy bacon but came out like rubber. Potatoes were soft and warm, almost mushy. The coffee was good. The yogurt with fruit and granola was okay. I would compare the quality of their breakfast to that of a cheap buffet. The service was not good either. Our waiter spilled cream when bringing coffee and choose not to clean his mess. He never came by to check on us either. I have no interest in eating breakfast here during our next visit. We had planned to go here earlier in the day when we were walking thru Lake Placid and glad we didn't change plans. It was an overcast night with good chance of rain so their outdoor seating wasn't open but there was no wait inside. Seemed unusually empty but I really don't know the dynamics of the area this time of year (Early Aug) Our waitress came right over and was very sweet and attententive. Took our appetizer order (Cheds board) and brought our drinks quickly. We ordered Two of their Dancing Bear Burgers, Korean Steak Tacos (2) and a Seafood Cobb Salad. Everything came out hot and delicious. Decided to stay for desert and ordered three cookie lava cakes and a Chocolate Cake (not on the menu) all of which were killer. I want to update my review here. I think your dining experience would either be 4 star or 2 star depending on the day when you are here. We were here three times so got a lot to comment: - there's a senior server here who coughed so many times during our second visit here. She coughed all the way from the kitchen to the front bar and she coughed directly onto the menu. Obviously nobody wears a mask here neither does she. She served our table and we felt like she almost faint when she took our order. Interestingly, when I switched my potato fries to sweet potato fries, she charged me an extra $3 instead $2 when I stopped by the other day and ordered the same thing. I don't really care it's 3 or 2 but the random extra made me think this place is super disorganized. - we later came back on a day when we didn't see this coughing senior server and someone else served us. The dining experience is so great! I not only got my potato fries upgraded (with extra cost), I also got to have a fruit bowl upon his suggestion. I got why some people got a 4 star vs someone got 1. It seriously depends on who served you. By the way, regardless of the dining experience, the food here is more like 3 star. I always went with the safe option (farm egg) that's really hard to screw up. Andrew ordered French toast once and they taste like... cotton... I don't know how to describe them, they are nothing close to a French toast. More like flavorless cotton that's not supposed to be edible. And the bacon coming with the farm egg is so over cooked and they come out black. And I think I mentioned this the last time: Canadian bacons are hams in this place... I hope you arrive on a lucky day where you get enthusiastic servers and great cooks. That'll boost your dining experience to a 4 star. read more

Was staying at high peaks during covid and didn't feel like going out. I figured I'd try the restaurant so I didn't have to venture out, and definitely would recommend. I ordered half a Caesar salad, which was plain but delicious, and the fish and chips. It was haddock that was surprisingly crispy and flavorful, and came with French fries. The ketchup was off brand but plentiful and there was no salt my only complaints but they equipped me with silverware, napkins, and everything else I could need. I was pleasantly surprised and would like to dine in post covid, however would have no qualms ordering to go again. read more

The alcoholic brunch drink menu is either a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, pretty standard, but we wanted something outside of the box. My partner ordered a Stella Artois Draft which tasted stale and watered down. My Bloody Mary was very basic - spicy tomato juice with vodka and an olive garnish. My Eggs Benedict, along with its side of home fries, came out cold. My partner enjoyed his meal, but the Crispy Cauliflower was incredible! Our server doubled as the bartender and seemed very uncomfortable; I hope his day got better. Thankfully he took the Stella off of our bill. I went here specifically for the waffles based on reviews I read. "Must have waffles". Man was I disappointed. First off. It's not that the waffles were bad. They were just boring old waffles. And they're not served with anything. Just 1 single waffle for 11$. While they do offer a 4oz cup with like a strawberry and 2 grapes on the side, there's no chocolate chips or banana or any flavors. Just waffles. So I figured I'd order the waffle and the 2 eggs breakfast and eat half of each so I wasn't just eating a boring lonely waffle. While the home fries were at least not soggy, they put 0 seasoning on them at all. Not even a dash of salt and pepper. Nothing. The bacon also tasted like when you put something on the grill to soon when using charcoal. Wasn't a big fan. One person at our table ordered the breakfast burrito. It was like a burrito full of 6 eggs with little else inside. Overall if you have the choice, this place is fine to eat at if you just want food you can eat and leave full. If you want to actually enjoy your food I'd go elsewhere. read more

I ordered a grilled pineapple mojito and it was disgusting: tasted like pure alcohol with no pineapple flavor and had little charred bits floating around. Had the lobster roll and it really didn't have any flavor but was packed with meat and the sweet potato fries were soggy. Boyfriend got the hot wings and said they weren't even close to hot: did they bring the wrong stuff? Waitress wasn't particularly friendly or on point but was okay. The lemonade cocktail was watered down :(. The American burger was very very good. The fries were fresh and crispy. The pork tacos was okay. The portion was big but the pork didn't taste so out of this world. It just tasted like pulled pork but with not so much seasoning.... the ginger slaw was light and not bad. The lava cake was a big big disappointment.... the waitress says be careful I just heated it up so it's warm... I got confused.... and as I bit down, it tasted like boxed cake mix texture. Beware of happy hour "specials"... minimal details advertised and no happy hour menu... which meant even when we asked the bartender what the happy hour specials were we were told "$5 wines, and $4 beer drafts." So we ordered 3 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. When we got the check we were charged full price ($10 each) asked if it was a mistake and THEN were informed it was only Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay on the happy hour specials.
