Located on the ground floor of the Grand Adirondack hotel, a lovely spot for breakfast. The windows look out on Main Street and let the morning light shine through. The breakfast menu is condensed, but should have all the classics with a slight twist and enough to satisfy a wide range of diners, Staff was friendly and attentive. I had a brisket breakfast skillet one day and a mushroom Gruyère omelette the next morning. The skillet had plenty of brisket, which beats most places that are stingy with the meat. It could have used a little more seasoning. The omelette was stuffed with mushrooms, but the chef cooked it a bit too long resulting in a slightly rubbery and browned omelette. On the plus side the breakfast potatoes were large and crispy and the sausage links fat and juicy. Areas that could improve. The coffee was weak for my tastes and the hostess could greet guests with a bit more warmth. This is really 3.5 stars but could easily improve and is shaded to 4. read more

We stayed at the Grand Adirondack for our Lake Placid trip and were excited to have a restaurant available downstairs. We went for breakfast and loved it! It's spacious and the staff are so friendly. Service was fast and there were some good selections on the menu. My friend went with the breakfast burrito and loved it, particularly the mole sauce. I couldn't decide between sweet or savory so went with the pancakes with berry compote with some scrambled eggs on the side. The pancakes were huge and super tasty. Marcy bar is quite an experience. The food, the staff, the atmosphere, it really lends it self to having a great time in lake placid. We had both the Everything Benny and Breakfast Skillet. The skillet included some of the best potatoes we've ever had and the Everything Benny had perfectly poached eggs. Each bite was amazing on its own but like a dream when each component was combined. It really made our morning. Solid wood tables and walls welcome you into an an open space area lined by ceiling to floor windows so you can watch busy Main Street pass by. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff made me feel right at home. I had a couple of great cocktails including a smoked old fashion and another drink I can't remember the name of, I also tried the in-house made sweet and sour almonds, which sounded strange at first but were delicious! My entrée was the fish special, I think halibut, prepared with garlic shoots and an amazing rice base, really impressive for "bar food"! Solid breakfast at Marcy! Typically scramblers are watery but this veggie dish was cooked perfectly with the right mixture of fresh veggies, cheese and eggs. The potatoes were so incredibly crisp with Parmesan sprinkled on every bite. Service was really really slow and she brought the wrong drink twice so minus a star. Special birthday time with a great friend on our vacation. We wanted to try something new, and this new hotel looked so nice, we wanted to give it a try. We were greeted nicely and shown to a table looking out on Main St at Mirror Lake. Our server came right over and greeted us and took our drink order. We got 2 different Sangria's and we both felt they tasted a bit too much like plain wine. We had wanted something with a bit more of the "promised" taste and would really have liked a bit more fruit. There was a little confusion about what we wanted, but the manager came over, figured out what we needed and brought it right over, we didn't need more alcohol, just more mixer to round out the flavor. The crispy Chicken sandwich was a hit! Thighs are always so tender, the breading was crispy and seasoned nicely,the coleslaw added a nice crunch. My tomato soup tasted very fresh, but I did add a little salt to suit my taste. My grilled cheese with mushrooms and bacon was nicely grilled and the mushrooms were an amazing addition. This place has so much potential. Lake Placid is definitely not a foodies paradise. There aren't many amazing places to eat, so we were excited to try this place. The restaurant itself is really cute and our server was nice, but the food was very average. The menu all sounds delicious, but the food itself did not deliver. It was a very average meal. We ordered the roasted edamame and it came cold and out of the pods. The bolognese was not good and shrimp pasta was meh. Hope this place improves! read more

Never got to taste the food. We ordered our food and had to leave because the server and manager would not accommodate our order. Here is the actual request. We want the chicken sandwich and can you add some cheese. The server said they can remove items but can't add additional items. The server and the manager said it's not them, it's the chef. The chef won't change the order. A stupid piece of cheese. I would pay for it but no. We walked out because they wouldn't add a piece of cheese to a chicken sandwich. read more

Super fun and cozy spot to stop at after a day of skiing! We walked in right at 5pm and the service was great! They had lots of different and fun seasonal cocktails. My friend wanted a speciality drink (she was craving a spiked hot chocolate) that wasn't on the menu, and the bartender made it for her no problem! We ordered the cheese & charcuterie board. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but good option to hold us over til dinner. Bartender was super nice and made awesome recommendations. We went on a Sunday, but definitely would want to try to stop in on a Friday/Saturday for their live music. If you're in town, it's worth a stop for a fancy drink or two! read more

Peaceful atmosphere here, food quality was excellent, and the comfortable decor made the experience great. They have a small focused menu of seasonal things and I wish I could try some other plates. (next time!) The appetizer was nicely portioned and tasty, good flavor mixes, and well presented. The fish and chips were light, fresh, and crisp. It looks like they are newly opened in Fall 2023 and I definitely recommend stopping in to try their great food and enjoy the comfy setting as well. Our experience dining here was fantastic from start to finish at a beautifully decorated restaurant. We started off with the perfectly made specialty cocktails- Stormy Ginger and Selena Sour. Since we weren't too hungry, we opted for the starters (mussels and chili) and salad which was more than enough for me and my partner. Our son had the kids chicken fingers with fries (totally addictive!) and lemonade. And we ended off with a yummy dessert - Black Cocoa Crème Puff. It was an excellent first night dinner at Lake Placid. We also have to give a shout out to Tash who took care of us and made our evening more special. read more

Our meal was $200 dollars for food that was at best, flavorless, and at worst, an assault on the palate. The poutine was just potatoes covered in gravy (maybe four cheese curds) and the fish tasted like it was frozen for a month and then cooked in a microwave. At $30 per entre I am frankly appalled at what they had the audacity to serve us. This is not helped by the fact that our food took forever to come out cold and wet. I was frankly debating demanding a refund because you couldn't even pay me to finish anything that we ordered. Very disappointing a place that was updated so beautifully is unable to execute. Waited over 45 minutes to have our order taken and another 45 minutes to get our undercooked fish and chips. Would have walked out if I wasn't nursing a cocktail from the bar. We stayed in the attached and newly updated Grand Adirondack Hotel which also had its share of issues. It's like they put lipstick on a pig. I would not recommend the hotel, or the restaurants. Service is awful. read more

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this Main Street eatery inside the Grand Adirondack Hotel. Went back several times during two different trips to Lake Placid. Enjoyed the Red Flannel Hash for breakfast. The Dry-Aged Duroc Pork Chop was tender and juicy. The Fish & Chips were a real dose of true comfort food. Attentive and friendly service at the bar as well as at the tables. Will definitely go back next time I'm there. read more
