Dancing Ganesha has several locations including this one in St. Louis Park. This is one of the nicest looking Indian restaurants I've visited. It's very attractively decorated and it seems much thought was put into its ambiance. This was my first trip to Dancing Ganesha. Normally, we trek out to Namaste India Grill & Brewhouse in Arden Hills, which is fantastic, but much more of a trek than to St. Louis Park. My wife and I ordered our two standards, Chicken Josh ($18) (which I believe is the same as Butter Chicken), and Chicken Tandoori ($17) with a side of Garlic Naan. Both dishes were excellent. The Tandoori Chicken was moist and good flavor and the the quantity of food very very generous and made for a good lunch the next day. The Chicken Josh was tasty and very good, but I think it was a tad less flavored than the version at Namaste. But it was a close second. We both enjoyed the Garlic Naan, which is best eaten while it's hot. The service was good and a bit more attentive than Namaste in Arden Hills. Overall, this is a solid restaurant.

Great service, great food and overall a great experience at the St. Louis Park location. The food was amazing! I ordered the Butter chicken, Beef vindaloo, garlic naan and the Chicken Rice Biryani! The rice biryani is the way to go! So flavorful and minty with a wholesome rice:chicken ratio. Overall love the portions here and the spice range is mild (to anyone that can endure heat). I chose the level 4 spice and it *barely* had a kick. Nothing better than when your food is served and it's steaming hot! Will definitely be back to try the lamb and mango lassi here -- both highly recommended by fellow Yelp Elite members in the reviews I've read. Lots of parking as it's in a strip mall.

I have been in love with Indian food since my first trip to London decades ago. Dancing Ganesha was new to me so I decided to try several dishes. First the Dal, a yellow lentil soup that was puréed and missing texture. It was ok, but very bland. Salt and a squeeze of lime helped. My Lamb Saag was much more successful and one of my favorite Indian dishes. The lamb was tender, the spinach fragrant and delicious, and nicely spiced. I ordered medium but definitely next time I'll kick it up a notch. Medium didn't make me break a sweat, but I appreciate the options in heat level offered (mild, mild plus, medium, medium plus, hot, extra hot). The Onion Kulcha was fantastic! Described as naan stuffed with onions, it appeared to be naan with onions worked into the dough as they were readily visible. The sweet onions and their crunch took naan to another level both in texture and flavor. I wish they offered chutneys as a side, even charging for it, because my jarred mango chutney likely doesn't hold a candle to freshly made.

I went to Dancing Ganesha for lunch, my friend and I shared the Chicken Korma and the Chicken Makhani with rice and garlic naan. The food was great, flavorful and there was just enough for the two of us to share, although the pricing seemed We arrived right when they opened so we were served very quickly! Overall I enjoyed lunch at Dancing Ganesha the pricing was a bit high for lunch, but I do look forward to coming back on special occasion to enjoy again

This review is based on a first visit where I only ordered an appetizer. So take it for what it's worth. Stopped by here after stopping next door and still being hungry and wanted to give it a try. The decor and cleanliness was what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. That is to say, nothing to complain about but nothing spectacular. Had to wait a little bit for service but again not unexpected. They were fairly busy and maybe a little understaffed. Once I did get service, the server was attentive. Now on to the food. Again based on one dish that I ordered. The Chicken 65 appetizer. Came out hot and crispy. Maybe a little bit on the dry side. I was expecting it to be a little moist or maybe saucy as I have seen it at other places. Would probably give it another try and order some other items. In the event I have anything to add after that, I will update the review

I enjoyed dinner with Mom and family friends. It was quite nice being together. The food was quite tasty but lacking salt. Reminded me a lot of Tamarind in terms of flavor, but not quite as heavy. Two observations, the aloo Gobi was mostly potatoes. The dishes completely lacked salt. Otherwise pretty good.

This restaurant was tucked away in the back of a strip center. Not the most ideal location, but very cute, clean, friendly ambience. The host and server were both friendly and efficient. I had lamb Samosa as an appetizer, and both sauces were delicious The crust was flaky and fresh, and the lamb and peas were spiced perfectly. It might be the best lamb I've ever had I had the chicken tiki masala for dinner. I asked for it hot don't do that again. It was excellent great flavor spice beautifully very very hot now I happen to like it that way, but it would probably be too hot for most. The portions were very large on both the appetizer and dinner, so the pistachio ice cream was good but I was already full, and hot chai was excellent. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town !

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the decor has a nice India theme and is really tasteful for a strip mall restaurant. The food was very good and the portion. I prefer a nice cup of chai for my drink.when ordered the chilli chicken appetizer and chicken tikka masala.

We had food delivered from here. It's always delicious. Spice levels are just right. You get a lot of food for your money. Shrinkflation hasn't hit them.

Vindaloooooooo!!! The food here at Dancing Ganesha was amazing! I had the lamb curry which was spicy. The heat was a little bit much...however I'm used to spicy food.My guest had the Chicken Vindaloo.I sampled hers and it was flavorful! The basmati rice was fresh and they kept it coming. We tried the vegetable samosas and they had very good flavor! Alex our server we very nice and knowledgeable about the food. Definitely will be back to sample more goodies!

I came back for more takeout as my vegetarian daughter is back for thanksgiving break and she likes the Minneapolis location so wanted to try the new location at Knollwood Mall. The St Louis Park location is living up to expectations! I ordered chicken vindaloo after hearing Lister go on about it on the Red Dwarf TV series. It was so fantastic!

Overpriced and mediocre Americanized food. If you're looking for something authentic, this is not it.

First the Butter Chicken spicy was an omg-this-is-sooo-good mumble at first bite because the spice level was perfect, the chicken thighs succulent and meaty, and that sauce was a savory flavor bomb. I've always been a curry or tikki masala kind of chicken eater but this Butter Chicken blows those away. A must try. Good grief I'm salivating writing about it. The Garlic Naan was a perfect sauce-sopper for the Butter Chicken. I wish they offered pots of fresh chutneys with the naan, but that's ok. That's really minor. Lemon Rice sounded fresh and refreshing but holy spice, Batman! It was unexpectedly deliciously hot and had a deep lemon flavor. Cooked with whole roasted spices, slices of peppers and curry leaves this was a top favorite. Some of the whole spice things (not sure what they were tbh) were hard but most added a crunchy texture. The soups I had, Sweet Corn Soup and Hot & Sour Soup were home runs. Both had plenty of veggies and packed a spicy kick. The H&S soup was not like you'll get at Chinese or other Asian restaurants, but it was hot and not sour. It's just different but still so delicious. There are so many vegetarian dishes on the menu everyone should be able to eat well.

Unfortunately I received two chicken tikka masala, not the butter chicken. Additionally there was no rice for the order. My husband called to let them know the order was not correct and Kadai said what we received WAS butter chicken-- apparently they use the same sauce for both butter chicken and tikka masala? Hmm. We'd had the butter chicken just last week so we know what that tastes like- it's super good! And we've had the chicken tikka from Kadai before (see my previous review) and it has a distinct taste that I don't personally prefer. Kadai was adamant that the only difference between the two is that chicken tikka has onions and bell pepper. Inconsistent experience and disappointing customer service.

The young host was running around looking very flustered, which made the vibe feel way more chaotic. Thankfully, it looked like the owner noticed and helped take over organizing the staff and getting guests arranged at tables. We noticed they have a really fun cafe setup called The Corner Café with its own window in the corner. It was closed when we were there, but it turns out they actually operate as a full-service artisan coffee shop during the morning and afternoon, serving Spyhouse coffee and pastries before shifting entirely to fine dining at night! For dinner, my husband ordered the sticky cauliflower as an appetizer and declared it "the best cauliflower 'chicken' bites he's ever had"--he also absolutely loved the white sauce it came with. He also got the mango yuzu drink which was super refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the coconut curry, which had a great flavor and wasn't overly sweet (which can sometimes happen when a kitchen overdoes the coconut milk). I ordered the Delhi butter chicken. The waiter mentioned that their spice scale is a "Minnesota spice" scale, so I felt safe upgrading to medium since I usually order mild. Flavor-wise, it had a bit too much tomato flavor for my personal preference, but it was still well prepared and the pieces of chicken had a lovely, smoky flavor.
