Everything else ws really not why they once were. Hoping they improve again. Times are hard and workers may be a Challenge to get. We got Matter Paneer and Makhani paneer. Turned out they just add peas to the Makhani sauce. The vegetable subzi ws mostly potatoes. The pakoras were almost all dough. The soup was frozen peas and carrots in broth w noodles. This place was ok. In fairness, I ordered from the Indian side rather than the Tibetan side. The ambiance was fairly utilitarian. Nothing was dirty or unhygienic looking. The owner was there and was very friendly and engaging. The food was average. I don't mean that as a negative, it was fine. The garlic naan was a standout. Very garlicky and the perfect texture. My biryani was also fine. I've had better in town, and bigger portions, but it was perfectly acceptable. My companion had the tofu momo which were also perfectly fine. Very happy to have found a delicious Indian/Tibetan restaurants a few blocks from home. I almost left because I didn't see anyone working at the front and only 2 other people were sitting outside. I'm SO glad I didn't! I ordered the shrimp curry (mild) and garlic naan. Curry had a kick without being overly spicy. It soaked up the side of basmati rice very well. Garlic naan was soft and did not dry out easily when I had leftovers yesterday night. The server (owner?) was super friendly and welcoming! I really enjoy the food here! Tasty Indian and Tibetan dishes. Everything is top quality with the best flavors. I've always had excellent service as well. I think the owner is always the one sitting us at our table and taking our order. All of the other employees do a great job of cooking and serving. It's a quaint little restaurant that's cozy and busy, but not packed wall to wall so much. There's usually a few tables of dine-ins and quite a few take out orders being picked up! If I lived in Hopkins that would probably be an issue on my credit card bill! I've really enjoyed the chai tea...hot or cold it's delicious. I love their appetizer combo and garlic naan. Tibet Corner is phenomenal! I've had the Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Momos, Garlic Naan, Vindaloo + Tibetan Chow Mein. I love that they adjust to your preferred spice levels too, if you want spicy they'll give you spicy. The service here is also unmatched. Almost four stars. The food is tasty and menu offers a nice range of vegetarian and meat entrees. However, services was slow and it felt like they may be understaffed. Perhaps a result of the labor shortage so many service and retail establishments are facing. The owner is an absolute LEGEND, and the food is top notch! This was on our Hopkins bucket list since moving here, and it didn't disappoint. The owner is mainly doing takeout only right now, and since he was missing a staff member that night hadn't planned to provide dine in service. But he welcomed us in and gave great service! The CHAI. All I'm gonna say, is you have to taste it to believe it. Dreams really do come true. My partner wouldn't stop stealing sips! I got the butter chicken and it was flavorful and creamy- spot on. My partner got an absolute mountain of lamb biryani and he loved the flavors and sauce. The owner chatted with us when he was free and is a total gem. He had us laughing constantly! I can't believe I've lived 5 minutes from here for the last 7 years and am only now just finding Tibet Corner! I came here last night with my spouse and mother in law. We chose to sit on the patio, which was super spacious and completely covered, so even on a hot day felt nice since we were shaded from the sun. The menu is pretty expansive, so it was a little tough to decide. We ended up ordering the edamame, samosas, and chicken lollipops to start. Hands down the chicken lollipops were the best appetizer. We also ordered beef momos, lamb curry, and beef shap-ta. All were amazing, and with some naan delicious to dip into the extra sauce. The manager was incredibly friendly and helped point us toward a variety of dishes that were super satisfying. Spoiler alert...it's on the corner! :-) We thoroughly enjoyed all dishes ordered and the owners were very kind and service oriented. The ambiance definitely needs a designers touch however! Samosa starter was fantastic as was the butter chicken and chicken tandoor. I had the Tibetan Beef Shap-Ta which was packed with flavor and the medium spice was just enough for me to tolerate as a spice wimp. Loved the garlic naan. went to eat here with my son. I parked in their parking lot and some worker came out trying to yell at me saying "are you going to eat here? this is private property!". I said "I was going to, but not anymore. keep in mind the parking lot was empty and they had one table full inside. maybe work on getting customers in the door rather than protecting your parking lot from people. also, the parking lot is falling apart and looks like an earthquake hit it. didn't even need to step in the door to make my decision never to come back. you don't need parking lot security, you need sales. read more

Tibet Corner, located in downtown Hopkins, offers Tibetan and North Indian food. It's not bad, but not great. If you want better Tibetan food, go to Tibet Kitchen on Nicollet in Minneapolis. The menu labels its vegan/veganizable dishes, which is enormously helpful. The vegetable samosa ($6) is vegan and pretty good. The handmade noodle soup (then-thuk) ($11) is vegan by default, but I didn't love it. The noodles are nice, but the soup had a dour savory flavor that failed to impress. The veg potato bean (alo phing) ($11) is vegan by default and an unremarkable potato/pea curry with glass noodles. The dal ($11) can be made vegan. I loved the texture of the lentils and the thickness of the base, but the flavor didn't pop. It was also too salty. Unfortunately Tibet Corner doesn't offer any vegan breads (it only has naan, which is made with yogurt). I'd definitely come back to Tibet Corner, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

We ordered food to be delivered because we were craving Indian food and there aren't many Indian restaurants that delivered close to us. This place is definitely a hidden gem! I have driven by this restaurant many times but have never tried it. It's a humble looking restaurant from it's exterior but don't let that deter you. The Indian food here is more authentic than I have tried at traditional "Indian" restaurants. The more popular ones tend to have a ton of heavy cream as the curry base which isn't traditional in most Indian dishes. The curries are also milder. That is not the case at this restaurant. Their curries are packed with flavor and they aren't bland either. And not too spicy at the same time! I loved it! I tried their mango lassi, lamb vindaloo and butter chicken with garlic naan. Everything was top notch. The vindaloo and butter chicken wasn't as creamy as most Indian restaurants but again - it was more authentic. It tasted amazing! Great establishment with a mix of Tibetan and Indian cuisine. They have done the pivot (as most restaurants) with a focus on take out. So on your way in you see the table(s) with orders ready for pick up. We opted to eat in and were really glad we did. We had the fish pakora and the chicken 65 (see pick). These were both Minnesota friendly and served with both tamarin and mint chutney. We also asked for a hot sauce. If you like heat and flavor, you should do the same. The naans were excellent as was the Alu Sha. My son had the butter shrimp and he ate it all. Everything tasted fresh and was very flavorful. I cannot believe this place has so many good reviews. They have not updated the online menu prices to what the owner actually calculates right in front of you with a calculator in real time. Ordered two entrees and a side of momos and was charged almost 80 dollars without tip - while the owner INSISTED I tip more before he handed me my food. When I told him the website prices are COMPLETELY different than what I was charged I will not be tipping. He called my number repeatedly, after I left, and told me to come back and he would pay the difference but he hasn't even taken the website down/ changed prices. One of the best places to eat in the area! I've been on a mission to find my new go-to curry spot for a couple years and the search is finally over! I've tried a few different menu items and once I tried the vindaloo I was hooked. My partner has been getting aloo sha from the Tibetan menu and we've both been really loving that one too. We ordered Tibet Corner for dinner while we were at LTD Brewing across the street. I liked that the menu had options but was still concise enough and not overwhelming. The website said to order online through Grubhub, which we did. Though, when my husband arrived to pick up our order, the person behind the counter seemed very disgruntled that we had ordered through Grubhub. I thought the portions were manageable. I ordered the Paneer Makhani and my husband ordered the Lamb Biryani. We both requested it spicy but it didn't come spicy - not sure if they do this as we put it in the special instructions area of Grubhub. I still enjoyed the meal even though it wasn't spicy! I have never had Tibetan food, and this was my first time trying it, and it was so good. The spot is very easy to get to. It is in the downtown hopkins area with plenty of free street parking. The inside is a little smaller, but they do have a patio. The food is incredible, the spot features, Indian, enter button cuisines. I decided on the lamb biryani, the beef shapta and the appetizer sampler. We also ordered a side of garlic non-and that is some of the best non-bread I have ever had in my life. I thought the portions were perfect. They gave you enough food, and the prices are pretty reasonable. This is definitely a great spot to check out if you're looking for Tibetan or Indian food. read more

We loved eating dinner here tonight. Had vegetable samosas to start which we light and had nicely seasoned filling. Chicken tikka masala and beef shapta were our entrees and both were excellent. Met a friend for lunch here. We came on a Saturday and so there were no lunch buffet which my friend was expecting and so she was disappointed but I was aware that there was not a buffet on the weekend so I was ok to give this place a try. It was a small restaurant and I didn't know existed in Hopkins so that was a great find for my friend and I meet up. Service was attentive with water refills. My appetizer momos too longer to cook and so my main entree of shrimp lo mein came out first. I didn't want to eat to much of the meal and miss out when the Momos would come out. I'm not a big curry person but I devour the whole plate minus one that my friend tried. The hot sauce was super spicy but it was so good that you can't help yourself but just keep dipping even if your lips are burning and it feels puffy from the spiciness! Decided I wanted to explore a different melting pot this evening. I'll be moving close to this area come June so I figured I would become familiar with the local eateries in the neighborhood. This is a quant little place to gather. I see myself coming here in the summer months to enjoying the patio with friends that have flavorful palates and good conversation. I started my meal with a hot cup of chia tea while I was waiting for my meal to be ready, it was nice and hot with warm notes of cinnamon and cardamom, rich but not too rich. Since I've never had Tibetan food before this was the cuisine I decided to go with. I ordered the Alu sha. It's a beef and potato dish with a flavorful tomato and onion sauce speckled with green peas served with basmati rice. Perfectly complemented with garlic naan topped with fresh cilantro and baked to what I would say the best naan bread I've had in awhile. I believe the person who took my order was the owner/waiter/cook. He seemed to where many hats, like many do in the industry, but this didn't effect the service he gave me. I could tell he was passionate and had pride in his establishment. He was very helpful in suggesting what he thought would be best. Over all I gave this place a 4 out of 5 because I wished the beef was a little more tender and the gulab jamun was subpar at best. The staffing seemed to also be in a bit of disarray as well, although most places are still this way since the aftermath of Covid. Either way worth the stop or Togo order if you find yourself in the area. I will be a repeat customer more often once I live in the area. read more

He continued my scold us about the wabbly table and how I needed to put the wedge that was in the floor under the leg of the table, while I was holding my 7 mo daughters hand she just dipped in the bowl of butter chicken he graciously moved right next to her. Thankfully not boiling hot, because that would have been not a yelp issue. I had a great meal here-service was prompt and helpful, food was some of the best Indian food that I've had (definitely leans spicy so keep that in mind when picking a spice level), and it came out quickly, and the prices were on point with portion sizes.
