    Restaurant area

Great little Indian restaurant. The dining area was empty when we arrived (given in was 2:30 on a Monday) but others arrived after we had sat down. Food was the correct level of spice and flavor and portions (two dishes and a side of naan) was more than enough for two people. Our onion naan was sub par compared with others we have tried but our dishes were just great!

Chicken Korma and lamb Samosa, yum!

We only did take out. But it was extremely good. Watch your spice level. They are very generous the the "heat".

It was a nice walk over the Mississippi River. The place is cozy and very clean. We were welcomed with so much warmth it was like having home cooking. We started out with the bread with feta. It was so good with the right amount of seasonings. I wanted to try the dowjic soup so I ordered a cup. I loved it! Yes it's lemony and has a lot of garlic which you could think is a lot of salt but these bright tangy flavors were right up my alley. Not to mention that with all that lemon and garlic it's great for your immune system. After a long flight this hit the spot. For entrees I had the bakla with chicken. So healthy and fresh. The rice had dill. Very tasty. My dad and his girlfriend had the Sheik Babani. They loved it. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back on a Saturday in order to try the chicken Tawa which is only available Fridays and Saturdays. We had first gone there on Thursday. So glad we got a chance to try that too because the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Wish we were able to go again but they were closed Monday on our last day. Congrats to all the staff and owners for making this family restaurant a special place to eat.

Every bite of food I have had from here has be very good. I always start with the Dowjic soup. The first time I tasted it would be a favorite for life. The service is always kind and welcoming. You won't happy with anything you order, but start with the soup.

We ordered 8 freshly fried beef sambusas with their house green sauce and chicken drumsticks with fries. We were greeted to take a seat and was served a banana and a water bottle. Probably THE best chicken drumsticks we've ever had! Whatever that orange colored dry rub was, was so flavorful with a little kick. It was not oily and the meat fell off the bone at first bite. The fries were hot and crispy, not soggy. The beef sambusas were so delicious, generously seasoned, and a larger triangle size, paired with their house green sauce that we could literally drink. We totally forgot to take a pic of the chicken because it was just that good

Ordered the chicken suqqar and my friend got the beef suqqar with ugali. The meats were a little dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. I asked for some of the green sauce that helped, but it would have been nice if the dishes had more flavor on their own. The spinach dish that came with the ugali had a lot of flavor, and the ugali had nice texture. It was a very cozy space and the service was friendly, but I was also overcharged for my dish (didn't notice it until I paid). I wanted to love this place, but found it only OK. I will try it one more time since they didn't have the dishes I wanted to order.
