When I saw the cups, I almost walked out but I had high hopes for the food. I understand that the focus is on the food, but when you're dining out, you also expect the experience to feel like you're dining out not like you're at a backyard party. The environment itself also felt more like a hole-in-the-wall than the nicer restaurant I had always assumed it was. The waitress was very friendly. We've been doing this 2 years and mushrooms are always easy to remove because there's usually 3 to 5 per slice. We were handed the pizza and all we smelled was mushrooms, like we ealked into a mushroom restaurant where the building was a mushroom. We hadn't eaten all day and pizza seemed the most logical to eat while driving and we had another 40 min home, but we opened the box and realized we wouldn't be able to eat while driving. The mushrooms were sliced paper thin and blended into the cheese to the point we couldnt see the cheese. The slices were tiny but so weighed down by the amount of mushrooms, that the pizza dropped down all the way and the slices weren't wide enough to fold. So, we were screwed for 40 min being starving still. Got home and my finace tried to remove mushrooms so I could eat and itntook him 25 min to remove the infinite amount of mushrooms of 5 slices. When he showed me the mounting of mushrooms from just 5 tiny sliced, he had a mound about 5 inches high, about the width around of an English muffin. It was shocking! So, moral of the story is only add mushrooms to this pizza if you are absolutely obsessed with mushrooms and only if anyone sharing with you needs to eat every mushroom thats ever existed in 1 meal. I love that they stepped up the class level with personable and professionally dressed employees! I ordered the cheese and meat ravioli with the endless salad. I looked at all the food and being 135 pounds I was overwhelmed! Plus complimentary bread sticks! I had a few bites of everything and it was all delicious! Ravioli were very good and so much cheese! The service is always warm and welcoming, and the friendly atmosphere has never changed. We've come for both lunch and dinner, and we've never been disappointed. On our most recent visit, we tried the bavarian sampler, and it completely blew us away. Every bite was packed with flavor, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Over the years, Sutter Buttes Brewing has become one of our favorite comfort spots, whether it's during the fall, winter, or summer. It's the kind of place where you always feel welcomed and know you'll have a great meal and excellent service. Three of us arrived around 9:00 p.m. after an event at the Moose Lodge. Since they close at 10:30, I specifically asked our server if we were too late for dinner. She assured us we were fine, so we ordered cocktails and three full entrées. Our server was wonderful, but unfortunately the food was not. The rolls and beans arrived ice cold. The ribs were overly salty, the baked potato was scorched, and the corn was barely edible. One person did enjoy their shrimp sampler. I ordered the roughly $60-$65 porterhouse with asparagus and the $5 lobster mac and cheese upgrade. The steak was extremely tough, fatty and full of gristle. The asparagus was overly charred and crunchy, and the lobster mac and cheese was watery, bland and had virtually no seafood flavor. After two bites, I sent the meal back. Our server was very apologetic and removed my entrée from the bill without me asking. I still tipped her based on the original total because she provided excellent service and the food quality wasn't her fault. I understand we arrived later in the evening, but if a restaurant is open until 10:30 and tells customers at 9:15 that it's fine to order, the food should still meet the same standard--especially at steakhouse prices. I want local restaurants to succeed, but this meal simply wasn't acceptable for the price. Unfortunately, based on tonight's experience, I wouldn't recommend it.
