I have a very old pair of slacks (10 years+) that were showing signs of serious wear. They are my favorite slacks for a dapper night of fun on the town and I hated the thought of having to retire them as they're one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. I met Stuart when he picked me up as an Uber driver in Birmingham and I remembered him saying that he made custom (shirts) clothing. I looked up ECS, called Stuart and made an appointment to stop in for a consult. He looked over my item and quoted me a price. FYI, the clothes here are custom made and they come at a significant price tag but they are of significant QUALITY. Initially, I was there for one pair of pants and I was on a budget but after seeing some of the fabrics to choose from and having Stuart explain the process and the finer points behind the quality I mentioned, I opted in for a better deal on three pairs. It was way outside what I wanted to pay but I saw the value and quite honestly curiosity got the best of me. He took my original garment to send for use as a stencil which were mailed back to me within a week's time. After that, it took a good while for the pants to be made...maybe upwards of a month and a half? When they were ready Stuart called me in for a fitting and I could immediately feel how well my new slacks were made. I was impressed. I took them to a business meeting that weekend to sport them off and I realized that they were a little loose in the hip. I called Stuart while I was out of town and made an appointment for an alteration and when I got back into town I took them to his tailor, Mazen and he fixed me up at no charge (part of Stuart's service). FYI this place is NOT INEXPENSIVE but their work is AMAZING. If your husband or your dad has a favorite shirt or pair of pants that's seen better days this would be a pretty cool gift to surprise them with.

There was something about the outstanding reviews of Crown Custom Clothing that drew me in. I decided to bring a bridesmaid dress here that was probably 2 1/2 sizes too big. The dress is strapless and had a mini train that I wanted cut to match the rest of the dress length. When we first got there, Mohammad wasn't there so I started to get nervous with the other worker. He was trying to pin the dress to fit me and it just wasn't working out. I could tell he was getting frustrated with pins popping out everywhere and it seemed that he didn't work much with dresses. He ended up calling Mohammad and put him on the phone with me. Mohammad said that he was on his way and would be there shortly to take care of everything. The minute he walked in the door I felt at ease. You could just tell he knew what he was doing. He also gave me a discount for waiting. I was already going to give him a yelp coupon, but it was a nice gesture anyway. He had my dress altered and steamed exactly 2 weeks later. I tried the dress on which fit PERFECTLY. It felt like a custom made dress and looked beautiful. He did a wonderful job. I also wanted to comment on how friendly Mohammad was. I brought my husband and 3 year old son both times and he engaged my son both days. That obviously had nothing to do with his craftmanship but it always makes for a more pleasant experience when people are happy and friendly. I would definitely recommend this business. I can't speak for how he tailors custom suits but I do plan on taking my husband back there for a custom suit in the future. I highly recommend Mohammad and will take my business there again.
